^ That really makes it hard to not try one of these. Great job.![]()
Thanks, OC Nub.
Max BCLK on UD6...
I think this is max for CPU.

Easytune was good at the beginning but several people I know, including myself have had major issues with it lately. It hardlocks the board as soon as I try and add any voltage sending the board into a loop that took me over 1hr to just get back into windows. Then after uninstalling it and installing the older version it it somehow made the older version that use to be good become buggy also.Maybe we need to edit the registry to remove any traces left
?
It reminds me of the old asus pc probe, a horrible program.

Any suggestions for a version of ET6 for P55A-UD3/R/P that works?
And is anyone having issues with temps? My basement is 18.5 to 19C ATM, and my core temps at idle are running 21 - 22C on Speedfan and Real Temp - understandable with a Megahalems. But a "CPU" temp ("Temp3" on Speedfan) of 9C should not be possible. At least it is consistent: when I let my cooler fan run on auto, it backs off to 530 RPM and the "System" temp rises to 12C.
Then I ran LinX. I can see that I will need to re-seat my Mega: an i7 860 at stock speed and default voltage should not show max core temps of 69 to 80C. Heck, my Freezer Pro 7 has done better than that.
I'm thinking I may have a bad MB: the AUTO setting for Smartfan does not seem to pick up that it is dealing with a voltage-regulated fan. And the SYS_FAN2 header runs its fans at minimum, whether they are PWM or voltage fans.

The ET6 that came with my P55A-UD3P was on a CD-ROM that billed itself Version 1.0.2. The ET6 that came bundled with my P55M-UD2 was on a CD-ROM that billed itself Version 1.0. Uninstalling version 1.0.2 and installing 1.0 fixed the Smart Fan issue.
BTW - in theory the SPU fan header is supposed to report the RPM of the PSU fan to the MB. On my P55A-UD3P, it also powers a fan.

just a possibility test on the board i haven't checked for lowest voltages...

Looks like you got a great 860, nice work again with this board.![]()
Snowed in today, so I explored my new i7 860 and P55A-UD3P, all at default voltages:
BCLK = 195MHz x 21 @ 4098MHz ran a full set of LinX.
BCLK = 197 x 21 @ 4140 did not finish the run.
BCLK = 207MHz x 20 @ 4144 ran a full set of LinX.
BCLK = 208 x 20 @ 4163 did not finish the run.
BCLK = 225MHz x 17 (mem at 6x) @ 3829 booted and loaded OS, arrived at desktop.
BCLK = 230 x 17 booted and loaded OS but crashed as soon as the desktop appeared.
BCLK = 200MHz x 21 @ 4203MHz booted and loaded OS, arrived at desktop.
last night a BCLK = 200 x 21 did not complete the LinX run.
I have not pushed the x21 series simply to load OS - yet.
The PSU is a 750W Antec. At the higher CPU speeds ET6 reported Vcore = 1.392v and Vmem = 1.632v. These held stable during the stress parts of the LinX runs. I think that is a testament to the ability of the MB's 12-phase VRM.

hey ive got a h55M board and it does this strange thing with vcore.if i set 1.225v in bios with LLC enabled it gives me 1.23v idle and 1.24v load.
so my question is,do these p55's do the same thing?with my p45 there was always some drop,like 1.32v bios would 1.31v idle and 1.29v load.thanks

My sys_fan1does not vary. It stays at max. My sys_fan2 also does not vary: it stays at some kind of minimum.
Is this normal for P55A boards?

I picked up an i5-660 today, I just started messing with it. What is up with the weird memory timings? I set 7 7 7 20 in bios and it shows 10-7-7-20 in cpuz.![]()
Heh. I set up 7-8-7-etc. on my P55M-UD2 and got 4-8-7-etc. on CPU-Z, and CPU-Tweaker.
