Thermolab's new product Shine & Bada

    Hi guys!
Because Thermolab released their new product,
I want to in troduce about the product
I guess you can well overclock with this

When I touched my hand on the heatsink
I just can feel warm, not so hot!!

    1. Introduction

Year ago, Thermolab released Baram on the market and Baram astonished overclocker of its own cooling efficiency with only 5 heat pipe.
But, Since better coolers released on the market, Thermolab fans have to wait until they release new product on the market.
At last, Thermolab released their new product named Shine on the market. It’s about time to Thermolab take back their cooling throne.

    2. Product details

Korean one old saying said, "First impression is most important.
" So, before I start this field test, I want you to explain about the component of Thermolab Shine&Bada, both have similar component,
for better impression. Also, I want you to have some information before you buy even you have Baram, you are better to look these below
because Thermolab release Shine with 3 major modified issues from Baram.

    -First Look

    a. Thermolab Shine: Nikel coating make looking great!!

    Size : 67 × 132 × 160 (L x W x H)mm

    Weight : 625g

    b. Thermolab Bada: Smaller than Shine but powerful!!

    Size : 95 × 115 × 135 (L x W x H)mm

    Weight : 598g(with fan)

    - Components with simple comment

    a. Heatsink Assembly : Shine is bigger than Bada but Bada is also big enough.

    b. Smart clip, Hand nut, fixing bolts for smart clip and heatsink : Thermolab wrote their product has calculated tension comparing
with other types which have over tension cause damage on your motherboard. But I want to you know if you have some kind of
high class motherboard than you may having trouble when you install Bada because I think that this smart clip for Baram cause
may hurt on your skin but it is still easier than any other types.

    c. Backplate : At last, Thermolab modified their backplate for matching on type of Intel socket

    d. Rubber pad : You'll need this pad if you use AMD socket

    e. Thermal Grease : Having Great efficiency per/cost. I love that grey color

    f. Fan : Shine- none, Bada- single fan included

-Thermolab Shine: 3 major modified issues

    a. Almost of heatsink with pipe has loss when the heatsink and pipe is welded in normal way.
So, Thermolab apply a welding technology which have far more efficiency than other one.

    b. Usually, a coated heatsink has more thermal loss compare with uncoated one.
This is because when the heatsink coated, especially, on the base, which is closest contact part on the CPU,
become a concave shape. Although you spread enough thermal grease on the base, no matter what it doesn't work.
So, solve this problem. Thermolab was researching on new technology which called SFT, Super Flatness Technology.
As you can see, base is so rough compare with other types, other one usually looks like some kind of mirror
because Thermolab carved coated base from outside to inside of base and make it flat for solve the problem.

    c. Base is welding of two parts, one is down side and I already mention the benefit of it and the other is upper side which covered down side.
You can't figure it out in your eyes because of coating but if you scratch it out then you'll find that Thermolab use different way on upper side.

This technology makes easily exhalation the heat than old one.

    3. Installation

Notice: Don’t unpack and eat the silicagel while you are installing.
I know installation makes you hungry but please don’t try it.

    4. Test Setting

    -Total test System Information

    CPU : Intel core i7-860

    MOB : Foxconn inferno katana

    RAM : G.Skill trident DDR3 2G PC3-16000 CL9 *2

    VGA : HIS Radeon HD 5770 D5 1GB

    ODD : Super-WriteMaster SH-S223B

HDD : WD 640GB Caviar Black

    PSU : FSP ZEN400 Fanless

    -Environment

    Case : Antec P182SE(Closed)

CPU Cooler for main test : Thermolab Shine.

    120mm Fan for Shine heatsink: 1200rpm 31CFM/1600rpm 56CFM/2000rpm 79CFM.

CPU Cooler for comparison : Thermolab Bada.

    -Measuring Equipment

Zalman MFC3 : Measuring Watt consumption and temperature

    -Software

    OS : Microsoft Windows7 X64

    -Benchmark Tools

Foxconn AegisPanel : Voltage and Bus tweak, Measure Voltage at full load

    Prime 95 : X64, using 8-threads

    5. Test Results

    Note:

*voltage isn’t important since I have measured CPU wattage consumption
and I measured environment component’s temperature because CPU isn’t only thing that affected by temperature.

*In the test of Thermolab Shine, I set the voltage at higher than CPU needed at 3.6Ghz
because I want to show you how dangerous that closed case affect on your VRM.

*When you see the table, I recommand you to refer to actual how much TDP CPU coast.

*CPU idle/load, VRM idle/load: measured by MFC3 sensor
*Temp idle/load: measured by CPU integrated sensor
*MEM idle/load, VGA idle/load: measured by integrated sensor

    Conclusion and Summary

    -Conclusion

I was so glad when I heard that Thermolab released Shine on the market
because I already used Baram and now I’m using Bada. Also, I know how Thermolab’s cooling solution works great on my burning CPU.
Before I am on a test Thermolab shine, I have to called Thermolab about modified issues from Baram
because I can’t find any diffentiation except nikel coating.
I thought nothing different except better appearance but my thought was wrong.
As we know from other tests, coated heatsink has less thermal efficiency than others even it comes from uncoated original one.
While anyone doesn’t care about the problem, only Thermolab build a new solution, which called SFT and I already mention it,
and delayed their release schedule for this even other heatsink took their cooling throne.
After I know the changes and why Thermolab delayed their new product schedule,
I just nodded my head and I was stunned by their thought for a while.
My tests prove everything. Now, the time for run to a store and put Shine crown on your burning CPU.

ADD: Market available in America, later

    -Summary

    a. Shine for extreme overclocker CPU on fire and Extreme quiet cooling user
(With Noctua 120mm for quiet and Apolish 120mm for extreme over)

    b. Bada for Normal user, normal overclocker and after quiet cooling solution
(Included fan works from 500RPM to 3000RPM)
