To save energy once and for all, activate Overdrive in Catalyst Control Center, then edit the created .xml file which is in the following path for Windows Vista: C:\Users\here.you.put.your.username\AppData\Local\ ATI\ACE\Profiles.
Switches perfect from 350 for mem and 350 for clock to 900 and 750 for my 4870x2.

I just made 2 profiles and bound them to hotkeys. The 300mhz and core off is alt+1. 2nd profile is 800/900 clocks both cores on and 80% fan speed.is that dynamic ? i mean, do you have to enable the "crossfire" again manually + the clocks each time you want to play or not ? if not, sounds like a good deal !

Here's my guess. That's a 3D render all right. Anyway, that's probably with the plastic cover and some aluminiums/copper off. They went the GTX295 way and put a fan in the middle?
Yeah, it seems more likely as a HD 5850 variant, with its single 6 pin PEG, the power regulation design, the heatsink design. The PCB looks quite long though, atleast compared to the previous x850 cards from ATi. But the cooling solution seems quite good, exhausting the air directly to outside the case.
