I am curious on what everyone gets on this test, without using MFT, zFlashpoint, or any other tool that assists random writes?
I just put together my new AM3 based setup I will be using for this year and installed Windows 7. Using a Perc 5/i (IOP333) + 4x32GB SuperTalent MasterDrive OXs (yes these are JMF602B MLCs) and am getting the following.
Don't have any pics since I'm at work, but here are some numbers I remember from last night.
Test size: 1000mb
Seq Read: 480MB/s
Seq Write: 220MB/s
Random 512K Read: 350MB/s
Random 512k Write: 200MB/s
Random 4K Read: 12.5 MB/s
Random 4K Write: 8.0 MB/s
Do these results seem about right for what I have? Yes, I am using the dreaded JMF602B drives. The main reason why I am using these is because of price. I got them for a nice deal about 4 months ago before Vertex was readily available or out. I havn't experienced any stuttering at all so far, though that may change once i start to load the drive with more stuff. I figured that 4 of them with the help of a dedicated RAID card would not do too badly.
Can anyone post their Crystaldiskmark 1000mb results? I've found this to be the most reliable over Atto/HDtach/HDtune, and the test size will usually take out the inflated effect of any onboard cache on most entry level RAID controllers. Thanks!
