Athom II x2 250 is natively dual core, 45nm...there is no CPU for such a socket and performance w/ less power demand..

And it should overclock great, in the other side it can be heavily undervolted, for stock clock.

Same as mine, did you get it from newegg? I ordered another and they sent me a 955BE by accident LOL. The chip should clock good, at least mine did.

Thanks, luck is exactly what I need Hopefully these newer steppings have more potential.

Do we have anyone else with 0920 results? Or am I the only one

    0922apmw - Lucky_n00b - ASRock M3A790GXH/128 - P1.10 - Success

    Hi guys,

I've just bought one, it's 0922 APMW, the same stepping as lamby_splendid have (well, it's not like I have much choice, in Indonesia most of the X2 550's are 0922 APMW stepping )

    - X2 550 0922 APMW
    - ASRock M3A790GXH/128, BIOS P1.10
    - G.Skill PC12800CL7-2GBHZ
    - GELID Silent Spirit HSF

BIOS all Default, just change the ACC to AUTO, and set the DDR3 freq n timing manually, and...voila! 4 core unlocks , lucky me

and a little overclocking from AMD Overdrive, just change the cpu multiplier to 17x, all voltage are still default..

    Unlocked 4 Core, 3.4Ghz, Linpack 32-bit 10 min START

    Unlocked 4 Core, 3.4Ghz, Linpack 32-bit 10 min PASSED

    Hi mate,

The board costs roughly 130 USD, pretty much the cheapest AM3 board available in Jakarta at the moment, and since I'm REALLY low on cash, I don't have much of a choice..

    * well, I probably should just buy a cheap AM2+ board, but I feel like getting an AM3 one *

I know, I called and told them they sent me th wrong chip and offered to pay the difference. The lady said "keep it and we will send you a promo code $10 off your next purchase for your inconvenience". I must say thoguh, the 955 does clock higher with less volts when going for stable.

Got a 550BE 0922APMW today to go with my GA MA790X-UD4P.Waiting for my new memory and HDD which are coming Wednesday.
How high do you think I can push this 550 with a lapped Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro?
I had my 3600 Brisbane at 3.1Ghz full load 47c
    i5 750
    Intel DP55KG

    Gigabyte 6950 2GB 880/1375 1536 shaders stock voltage

Well I had my 550BE 0919EPMW at 3.8GHz (200x19) at 1.4V, the load temps when running prime were around 45'C. That was using the same HSF as yours (lapped also) but my case has 4 120mm 60CFM fans which shift a fair bit of air.

What I found with my chip is:

    200x18 @1.3V (stock volts) = ok.
    200x18.5 @ 1.35V = ok.
    200x19 @1.4V = ok.

So I needed 0.5V more per 100MHz step after 3.6GHz. (This was with all other voltages at stock, NB, CPU-NB, etc)

Good luck, hope your CPU unlocks to 4 cores and is a good clocker
