Update #17 feb 26 (FINALLY! Assembly line)

Spyrious: Yeah I hope they'll sort it out. Would be an irritating set back if they wouldn't.

Unicorn: Thanks man. As I said, I really hope they'll be able to sort things out cause I don't have the extra material needed for a new panel. But I'll start assembling the computer withough the outer panel. After all, it's the last piece to go on.

trucha: Cheers! Thank you for your compliments.

    Final assembly starts

I'm really excited as this project is closing in further and further. It's so fun to see things come together and so far I'm extremely happy with the result. All the bolts and nuts suit this case so nicely.

Parts on the table. Sorry bout the dvd-drive beeing a bit dusty. Missed that out.

    Parts

It's a bit funny how factory made all the panels feel. It gives you that extra pleasure when assembling.

I want to point a HUGE thanks to Sifvert for providing me with all the bolts and nuts needed for this project. Thank you!

    Mhm, bolt godness

So seriously packed with individual zip-bags for each kind of bolt.

Back mounted with round-headed hex bolts. Black. Looks slick

And a final teaser for today.

LOL! That shouldn't be necessary! Try contact a couple of online stores etc and see if they can put this tray in their range of products. Shipping a tray from sweden would just cost you a hell lot of unecessary money.

Masterful work!!!! I really like the attention to EVERY little detail! The DIY from scratch case, countersunk fans, custom DVD fit, custom fan controller, etc....SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

    Keep up the good work!

This case exemplifies my sig.....it takes a LOT of work to make it look simple!

Project: Aluchill - Update #18 feb 27 (Assembly continues)

Thank you! Killer, I think I'll stick with the black fans

Oh well, another update for ya'll. Basically I've continues with the assembling. Got the whole front finished. Took a bit of time to get the dvd lined up properly in the slot on the front. Have sleeved as many cables as I had time to and mounted the pumps and moboslide. Also mounted the LCD-bezel at the back.

LCD-bezel mounted with counter-sunk insex bolts.

Front, pumps and dvd-reader mounted. Got a bit of cable management done.

Dvd mounted with m3 round headed insex bolts.

Fan controller mounted and the knobs attached.

Mobo-slide bolted and the tray was slit into place.

Close up on the pump-mounting. Rubber grommets and m6 hex cap screws.

The underside of the mid plate.

The left side with the internal cover attached.

And a final pic for today

    I'm totally liking this build

This looks so good in all black with the polished screws, I've also didn't painted the screws black in my V1200 just to create a nice contrast

But these fans are looking real nice this way, but you are pushing hot air into the case in this situation :O

Thanks. Well the fans are directed so that they push air into the case yes. But this is why I have separated motherboard and such with the internal cover, so the air will flow right out at the side. Thought it was the most common way to push fresh air thru the radiators, instead of pulling warm air from inside of the case.

awesome stuff.. that is some really great work.

for a second there, I was a little lost in the last pic. I was trying to figure out why that pci bracket was out of place and where your mobo tray went. Then I realized the full tray was just sitting behind the case, not installed. lol

NysoO, did you play around some with the display and it's software? I couldn't get Asus Probe II, MBM5 and Speedfan to work. Everest and RivaTuner was a half@ss job.

Perhaps it's due to these progs not being optimized for AMD though.

Your build looks amazing although i find the hexnuts on the front stand out a little too much, it would look better if those were black imho. Keep up your excellent work!

I must say that I am really impressed by your build. It takes a lot of time and attention to detail to make a case that looks good AND functions well. I can see from the pics that you have really spent the time to sweat the details, and what you have it turning out very nice.

Great work. Probably the best case build from scratch I've ever seen. I'm interested to see how you finish it all off.

Update #19 Mar 3 (EYE CANDY! Internal build 98% finnished)

    Thank you!

Talked to the powder coaters today and the outcome was not too pleasing. The sheet metal worker said that It would be impossible to fix the panel perfectly. And he told me that the guys that would have lasercut a new panel for me was filled upp their asses with work, so it would take a long time to get it done. However, he offered me a 140$ compensation, a new piece of sheet metal, discounts if I would like to powder coat something in the future and a new free session of powder coat on the new outer panel.

So i have to fabricate a new panel which sucks.. will take about ~18 hours to fabricate a new one. But I'm going to try bending the old panel as good as possible and see if it can do as a temporary panel.

Any who., have finished the hardware and internal build to say 98%. It started up and is working great. Great temps and silence. Just got to do some sleeving etc. Anyways here are some extra large candy shots for ya'll. This time I'm going to let them speak for themselves.

Again, THANK YOU for your support throughout the build so far

I don't know if you'll notice, but I skipped the internal cover and went with an open view. Wanted to see the pumps and wanted the case to be a bit more flexible. No bigge.

    Man that kicks ass...

Don't know what to say actually, because this is one of the best builds(top3) i've followed on XS

Also your powdercoater had imho a great solution for your panel.

EDIT: I suppose you still have to sleeve the 2 powerconnections for your second GFX :P
