Ok,
I started about this in the DFI 790FX thread but I think it's starting to become an issue enough to give it its own thread.
Most strange thing is that the CPU at least WAS stable on 14x251 in both this board but also in Gigabyte 790FX DQ6 (which is my old board, 4th RAM slot broke and I still should send it for RMA). But now I get BSODs/crashes since past few weeks and they seem to be happening a later when the CPU is clocked lower. I didnt test it at just stock, Ill do that tonight.
Here are my observations:
I get BSOD's when Priming, black screen freeze when playing a game and when browsing the internet and/or WinAmp I get some sort of artifact freeze all across the screen, grey/white vertical lines. All are sorted, not a chaos or so. Sound stutters and then nothing, no response, no reboot or no BSOD (in the crashes, when Priming I do).
RAM is pretty much fine. I used 4 instances of Memtest in Windows each testing 750MB and all covered 550% without errors. That was pretty much ok for me. Also I primed with lower multiplier and same RAM speeds and that was good. I pulled all 4 sticks out and only used one in 3rd slot, BSOD with OC'd CPU. Pulled stick out and got another one in the 4th slot, BSOD. So Im very sure it's not the RAM.
I re-installed Windows XP64 and used latest drivers for GPU, soundcard, mobo and installed all updates for Windows. But it didnt matter, still BSOD.
Two times I got a BSOD and after using the Windows Debugger it blamed the usbehci.sys thing. I disabled USBEHCI controller in BIOS and disconnected all USB devices after that. Also Win32k.sys is getting blamed. I didnt analyze my last 0xD1 DRIVER_IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD as I got pissed. No driver named there though but I dont know what the Debugger will say.
So yeah, what the hell is going on? Is my CPU simply broken? If so, wouldnt it be more likely it would BSOD at any speed without speeds having an effect? Broken motherboard? I dont think it's the HDD's as I used first only one. When I thought it might be software issue I installed everything new on the 2nd HDD.
Does anyone have a clue or any tips? Thx in advance.
