Supposedly this version of IE is supposed to be fully standards compliant. That would be one reason.

Now that was uncalled for.... why??

To answer his question there are still many times when Firefox will not work in certain circumstances. I use Firefox myself as my primary browser. However there are times when i have to fire up IE when a page won't display properly.

I am really happy to hear that this version is standards compliant. I am so sick of wirting hacks or 4 different versions of code just to get my websites to display properly in different browsers (IE 6+7 are the worst). I'm sure there will be a huge relief from this when its fully released.

I have never had this prob with FireFox. Only probs I have is having to install some missing plugins for it, but that takes like 2 sec so no biggie.

microsoft genuene advantage wont work in FF. You also cant sign up for a new hotmail/live account in FF (thie email availability verification field wont work). So MS is trying to control market share with compatibility control.

No Korean banking site works in FF, either. I have to use IE to access any Korean banking sites.
Furthermore, Firefox does not work at all in majority of Korean entertainment sites. IE is the only way.

Considering the speed over IE7, and those occasional need for IE-only sites, I say, why not?

Thats totally false. I have made several Hotmail/Live accounts on my computer recently, and I don't even have IE installed. Only Firefox, and everything worked perfectly fine.

Just install the IE tab feature to Firefox, and you're all set.

Anyways, congratulations to Microshaft for stealing tab crash recovery.

I like IE perfectly fine. FireFox is a fine browser as well.... but why install another broweser if all the sites, and some sites that I know have issues with FF, all work in IE.

    Might give this a whirl.

Well it really all comes down to what's faster and compared to FF, IE7 was a turtle (at least for me). Maybe things will change after IE8 but for now I'm going to stick with Firefox.

Pretty much a little interface redesign, and support for web standards. Only took over 8 versions. No reason to go nuts unless you are a developer.

I don't know when I noticed errors on website due to Firefox the last time. I use Firefox since, I think, 0.8.x and at that time there were several websites that were not displayed correctly. I haven't seen any the last three years.

but I'll give IE8 Final a try, though it won't compete with Firefox in terms of extensibility.

    I just love mouse gestures
Notice any grammar or spelling mistakes? Feel free to correct me! Thanks
