that would be sweet, have a buy in, build a block, or block set, then who ever wins each section, CPU block, GPU block, Chipset blocks, gets to have their blocks produced by a company like D-tek or EK or someone like that. Just an idea if we can get a company behind it. maybe the companies would be willing to pay the producer royalty fees as well. :p

convenient how you stopped short of the $100 dollar part. like I said read the forum rules..... rule 5 in case you get tired of reading. the problem isn't the thread or the idea but it needs to be posted in the for sale forums not in the general forum areas. like it or not there are rules, and they are here for a reason.

That said they do look like nice plates to make waterblocks from.
I don't take it as a selling post, it reads more like a "who's interested in a group buy" to me.

As far as the price goes, you have to remember that you can get something like 4 blocks out of that one piece, so $25/block raw isn't too horrendous. Yes you still have a bit of work to do to get it usable but still, it's really not all that much.

h20, what's the Manu process on those, forged or cast?

they are not cast or forged......i found this online... http://www.freshnews.com/news/comput...cle_32148.html

" Amulaire's highly flexible metal injection molding processes enable the company to make cold plates with features such as the following:

    - - Fins that go in multiple directions on a single cold plate

    - - Fins at any angle, curved or in any pattern required

    - - More pin fins (to increase the surface area of the cold plate and enhance thermal performance)

    - - Microchannels -- with fins as small as 0.15mm wide and 0.7mm high, with 0.15mm spacing -- for very precise liquid cooling solutions"

Hmm, interesting. It seems they are using injection molding which is actually a hybrid of forging and casting. It's better than casting but not quite as good as forging.
