Ive been trying to get them as high as possible, but it seems my evga 780i board has a huge fsb hole above 433. Ran them no problems at 533 of course unlinked and unsynced.

Yeah I'm going to have to go with the former, the memory is clearly good enough and its the mobo thats letting you down.

    What about P35-based boards?

Can you please define more specifically what is your definition of "OK". Have you tried to test 8GB with Linpack? Memtest86+ is just not enough.

Oh no, please don't tell me it's your standard testing technique

Any chance you can do real testing?

$170 with free shipping, it'll need to drop a bit more for me to be really interested though.

We just need to know what the performance difference is between the 8000 and 8500 as I've seen some pretty impressive tests on the 8000 kits. $70 is a big difference and I don't see how it's worth is.

Are 2x2Gb memory kits as easy to overclock as 2x1GB memory kits. I know that 4x1GB do not overclock as well as 2x1GB kits.

My 2x2GB 8500 GBPK just died on my after one day. I was running 556MHz at 2.1v. That is about the maximum they will go. I was surprised how warm they were when I took them out, as opposed to my 2x1GB 6400 HZ's. If you consider they are 2GB's on a single sheet, it no wonder there were cooking. I would be very dubious of getting 2GB memory without some cooling fins on them at least. I now personally think it is a waste of money to get any PC2 8500 memory as they are just 'hyped' up PC2 6400 memory.
I am currently running 2x1GB 6400 HZ's at 534Mhz at 1.90v. I think I might just up the voltage and see if I can hit 600MHz for 24/7 use (50% overclock). The X38 chipset seems to require less voltage for memory than previous chipsets.
I have to give cudos to NCIXUS, as they are giving me a full refund!

They've been running fine at 1066Mhz 5-5-5-15 for 2.5 weeks now. The difference between 533 and 550 is not enough for me to even set.
