Many motherboards search their USB ports when you set it to boot from a "Removable" device (and that usually includes floppy drives). It might just be a tricky BIOS with misleading settings.. if that P5K really does not allow for it I'd be surprised.Originally Posted by spectrum48

hmm yeah it is very strange indeed if it doesn' support usb boot
as far as i can see there is only floppy drive option, i'll try and see if it boots from usb when floppy is selected
edit: indeed it works, i had legacy usb support disabled that was all
