nice... already beaten my 12m 51s run at 7x514FSB LOL

my new personal record at 3600Mhz.. DDR2 alive![]()
Fredyama:very good first run![]()
"We are competing, competing to win. And the main motivation is to compete for victory" - Ayrton Senna
Heya,
Great submissions eva2000, 3oh6Although not exactly fitting the rules
but fredyama and hipro5 have some sweet times at 3.6GHz!!! Toasty 2.36v on DDR3 George
Also, very nice CAS4 on 10000C5DF, dinos
I'm personally looking forward to even more DDR3 results, though.
BTW, can still play with you guys? It's been almost 4 months since I had a moment to sit down and cook up another result. I finally got around to doing it and managed to raise the bar a little higherLet's get some competition going, right?
12:xx
Corsair Dominator TWIN3X2048-1800C7DF @ DDR3-2016 7-7-7-15, vdd=2.34v
Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3528MHz
Asus P5E3 Deluxe, BIOS 0503
DRAM Command Rate - [1T]
DRAM Static Read Control - [Auto] --> effectively same as [Disabled]
AI Clock Twister - [Strong]
AI Transaction Booster - [Enabled 3]
"nothing special" standard WinXP Pro SP2 installation; Copy-Waza, Maxmem=600
all set in BIOS, straight boot to Win, no changes done with Memset, SetFSB, etc.
Note: CPU-Z 1.41 seems to have a problem correctly reporting memory frequency on this motherboard. But FELIX's Memset as well as Everest Ultimate get it right. However, the former shows Command Rate as 2T when BIOS sets it at 1T.
Thanks a lot for giving me a chance to submit another score, guys!

holy smokes man killer run
thanks for the compliments![]()
i am squeezing the last bit of life out of the DDR2 gear before i move onto some serious DDR3 benching very soon![]()
it's awesome to see what these DDR3 sticks can do and having RAM clocking that high also helps a lot with lower multi chips and will make even more drastic differences with LN2 benching as most guys are going 1:1 so RAM is not maxed out properly......
this Saturday i've got a big event and some LN2 .....we'll have 6x different rigs setup for the OC show but only a couple of extreme clocking ones
it should be a lot of fun and i'll certainly work on the 8.xx category a little![]()
those sticks are on fire
someone call the fire department![]()
you know it...if it isn't in there by a hair, it isn't trying
thanks man and great to see you setting the bar in this thread again. you beat me to the punch though with the 1000MHz+ runs. i just happened to be working on my 12.XX run but i am definitely not at 7-7-7 or 500FSB at PL6 but i am also not at 2.34v, these sticks are my only set so i gotta make sure they last...hopefully soon i get some more to play with. absolutely sick memory and MB. this DDR3 sure is fun to play with isn't it?
i thought i was doing good getting the 12.XX category feasible at 3550MHz...apparently not thanks to BA![]()
**removed image...a couple posts down i replaced with a real run![]()
Thanks guys!Too many factors out there determining the price end-user will pay but cost of Micron's 1Gbit DDR3 is still the most significant chunk of cash that goes in it...
@ dinos
Yeah man, I've seen you cranking some serious clocks lately, on DDR2/DDR3 as well as CPUs! Great stuff! I'm looking forward to seeing you break into 8:xx. I also need to get back to some more serious overclocking, although single stage is not cutting it anymore, haha, and since I started this job I somehow just can't find enough spare time...
Damn man, that's very impressive run!!! I thought I could be safe for a moment at 3528MHz but I guess I need to start working on a backup score now![]()
Let's keep this thread alive, it's a lot of fun![]()
damn 3oh6
such low vdimm at those clock
new crucials are rocking as wellwow
i noticed those sticks have the new Intel XMP SPD as well![]()
these sticks seem to get better the more i beat on them. i am certainly impressed with how they are holding up to the big boys that BA is running. normally i don't openly plug reviews like this but since a few people have been asking me what 24/7 stability of this particular kit is like, you can see some stability testing in my review of these exact modules that i am beating on here. a dual 32M OC Report will be out in a couple weeks on these sticks...still finding the limits of the MB at this point. now on to the matter at hand...
i have almost evened up the playing field, still not ready to go over 2.0v with my babies yet so CL7 is out of the question at this frequency and my MB still says P35 in the description instead of that yucky X38 suff, but i did spend a couple minutes with a 50K ohm VR and the P5K3 to get that PL down to 6 at this FSB
you better find some free time next week because here i come BA![]()
i believe in full disclosure so here is a pic of the mod...thanks to SF3D and his P5K-Dlx vmod thread (the MCH mod is the same for P5K3 obviously)
back on my 32M prepped OS so a similiar setup to previous runs of late:

not quite as tight as the last one Gautam, but i tried, just for you![]()
@bachus, I know, I know, was just kidding.
@3oh6-seems like it could've been .2MHz lower...keep trying![]()
that PL mod is interesting
what chip would i look for on other motherboards to do the same thing
say Gigabyte P35 or X38 ones for example????
yeah, the P5K3 is a bit crippled with just 1.70v as the max voltage selectable from BIOS. without a little more juice, PL6 at 500FSB was a pipe dream for my board...instant lockup. 500FSB PL6 1:2 was so much further away from a pipe dream. with 1.95v now, i ran 32M at PL6 1:2 for damn near 4 hours straight with the Noctua NC-U6 for cooling so rock solid.
i still haven't had time for testing but i hope that the new found MCH voltage helps get me over the 940MHz dual 32M wall i found. otherwise the OC report of this Ballistix kit will have to focus on tight timings where it doesn't really excel.
My first run. 12.xx Category

Can't believe what a struggle it was but i finally got sub 13 minutes at 3.6GHz.
I must be one of the very last to achieve this but i finally acomplished my target.
I have been concentrating on 965 board results way too long, ignoring the fact i have a P35 chipset based board.
This might look similar but i found out the hard way they're not.
On 965 boards one could get sub 13 min at 3.6Ghz with just 400MHz FSB and a 2:3 divider to set mem to 600MHz.
For too long i've been thinking that this was possible on a P35 board too, how wrong i was!!
I just didn't understand that changing my timings and subtimings didn't give any gain in SuperPi, then i suddenly dawned on me that i was starved for FSB!
After crancking up my FSB and lowering my multi, i found that i gained a hell of a lot, so i needed ram that could do real high frequenty's so i rolled the dice and got me two sticks of Crucial Ballistix PC8500.
These didn't let me down, heck, they even do 1M at DDR 1200 4-4-4.![]()
So back to the drawing board, first untweaked run brought 13 min 6 seconds, next was what i was looking for:
I think i can better this with some finetuning but hey, the result is there!
Geez, can't remember the last time i typed such a long post, i'm exited!!![]()

Finally some 'decent' times on a 2MB chippie. No windows tweaks, just experimenting with copy-waza and CDT.

Where courage, motivation and ignorance meet, a persistent idiot awakens.
Hey massman, keep in mind, 2mb chips are only 3-4 seconds slower in 32M than 4mb chips.
If you don't believe me, check out this thread, a lot of pages back.![]()
