Help me setup RAID on a P5K Deluxe

I was used to my nice lil 650i with slipstreamed nForce RAID drivers.

How do I setup a RAID 0 on this board? Do I need drivers for it like my nForce one?

Also whats a good stripe for 2x74 GB Raptors?

Do I use SATA connector 1 and 2 or so I need to use like 1 and 6?

WEll that was a helpful post -lol!
Go into bios and set sata to raid. then reboot and matrix storage manager will come up. Hit control+I and setup your raid 0 volumes. Make sure you have a floppy or usb with the ICH9R raid driver on it - use make floppy from the board install disk. Resinstall Vista or XP - vista - select load driver when you reach install screen - XP hit f6. Once loaded your all set - remember to install the Intel matrix storage manager - latest downloads here http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Prod...ProductID=2101 .
Run HD tune or tach and see your performance increase - makes you very happy-lol!. Its worth getting Acronis TRue Image 11 home ttp://www.acronis.com/homecomputing...cts/trueimage/
to create and manage a backup/restore copy of the operating system cos raid 0 can be prone to failure moreso than a single drive. With Acronis you can create a bootable USB backup and a lot of other things too. I found that the install seemed a lot slower than when I did an install with it set to IDE but it gets there. So dont panic if you think it is going slower . I did but learn from my mistakes -lol!

This is a good read and interesting ' Enter the MAtrix' - http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=467848 I have set my HDD's ine up with RAID 0/1 on 2 disks but they are 320GB. You will only want raid HAve Fun . Heres a though provoking thread re RAID 0 - any real benefits.

Still one way or another its fun to see the HD tune graphs.i

Well I wish I could, but when I hit F6, and select one of the 4 listed files there (this is after setting SATA to RAID in the BIOS) it gives me the iostor.sys cannot be read bullsht error.

I tried 10 diff disks, and 3 diff drives. Tried to slipstream the drivers into a CD, as well as make a new floppy drive with the newest drivers from intel.com

As far as I could know P35 chipset boards with ICH9R are now aceppting Windows XP drivers for RAID.

Windows XP + RAID + ICH9R drivers = doesn't work (only in VISTA)

I manage to get it working by installing ICH8 (retrocompatibility) + Windows XP

I have used the F6 drivers from this link http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filt...4&submit=Go%21

Just download the drivers with the number 2 in front of them and make the floppy disk.

I have done this thing with ICH9R and i have my raid 0 with Windows XP on them
and i am running this system with 2 HDDs for 2-3 months without a problem.

P.S. The link i have used is for Windows XP 32bit drivers.

Strange - I didnt have any problems on Vista x64 load. Have a look at this - inserting a directory on the floppy seems to be a work around. http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?p=1241918. The only driver that is needed is the SATA RAID driver for ICH9R - I am assuming your too smart to be using the Jmicron-lol!
