Can't wait to see some results, though I don't see it beating the Tuniq. The best improvements i could see to beat a tuniq would be better mounting of the heatpipes in a design similar to that of the tuniq.

Not the best review however. What fan did they use on the TR Ultra-120? No Tuniq in their either.

    Really a surprise to me
Ultra-X loses to Ultra 120 under high heat load.
This is quite disappointing or something wrong in their tests if you consider that Ultra-X got 4x8mm heatpipes and nice heatsink base
Of course, the Ultra 120 (as like Tuniq 120) has heatpipes coming cross the heatsink, that is a plus under high load.

Cannot wait for Chaos' results .

Could the benefit of cross section heatpipes shadow those of bigger heatpipes and better build/finish?

    Preliminary Findings -

Sunbeam Tuniq Tower 120 vs. Enzotech Ultra-X

Well after a little bit of playing around heres some results, pics to follow.

    Room Temp - 25-27C

    Fan Used - Silverstone FM121 120mm (110CFM~) @ 100%

TIM - CoolLabratory Liquid Pro, and Liquid Pro Metal pads.
Note- I hate the liquid metal pads, with the 6 I had they cooled for . The true liquid stuff applied by myself yielded a 10C difference.

Heatsinks were not lapped, nor is the Xeon 3060 IHS.

No extra cooling methods were used extra fans, paste over various parts etc.

    Tuniq Tower -

Closed Case Temp - 29C (damn video cards)
    Idle - 39-42C
    Full Load - 60-62C

    Enzotech Ultra X -

    Closed Case Temp - 29C
    Idle - 40-43C
Full Load - Varies 55-57C in Intel Thermal Analysis.

Unless the review comparing the Enzo to the Ultra 120 was doing something different then me, I cant see how it can be right based on what im finding. Seems the Enzo is a little bit better, if not on par with the gigantic tuniq.

Im gonna repeat a couple more times and see if I can get any changes that are significant.

    Cheers,
    Chaos

Could you use the Tuniq stock fan on both, since it's a bit.. uhh.. quieter?

I can barely hear that silverstone compared to my 80mm =p

Ive found in using them that they both work better with higher CFM fans. I woul also have to reduce my clock because lower CFM wont cool it for anything, Ive tried lol. But I would imagine for quiet cooling a higher clock youd want something with a push/pull config like use a noctua or ultra120, or scythe no? I havent really seen anyone running high clocks with super quiet, or tuniq not at full blast.

However I would have to take the tuniqs fan off of my other computer, i hooked it up to the exhaust of a CM Mystique since it tool a 120mm and the other comp doesnt need to be as loud as my gaming/benching rig. But since you asked im sure I could do it.

Naw, you don't have to. That'd be a total pita. You said it yourself, the Noctua or Ultra-120 is better for silence... and that's what I'm after.

    Thanks anyway dude

Listen to some Killswitch Engage long enough and the Silverstone will be quiet as a church mouse.

I would like to see how tuniq does once lapped to the same finish as the enzotech. It would also be nice to see the results with the same type of fan in both coolers.

    Killswitch Engage is the shyt!!!!!!!!!

CHAOS, aren't those temps on the Turniq a bit high for idle? I've got a Turniq Tower using the Silverstone FM121 120mm fan and the CoolLabratory Liquid Pro metal pad on my x6800 B2 stepping @ 1.425V and it idles at 36-37 degrees. Why are your temps so high? Shouldn't you be in the low to mid 30's @ idle?

My room temp is almost 80F lol thats why. Case is a lil hot too. Its winter time here and below 0F

What is your OC on that X6800? reseating them I havent seen any difference from my original results, 1 or 2 C diff. I should give the tuniq a base like the enzo has and see how they stack up.

But really at this point I would say they are almost identical in performance. The varying temps could be from the finished base, or it could be from me reapplying the TIM better, kind of hard to setup a true test of that though. Im trying to do my best to get them as close as possible.

Wow... Interesting results. 25mm thick fan? Could you try a 38mm thick one? Preferably a delta, sunon, or denki?
