Or it could mean that K8L will arrive much later than originally planned and take another year to mature into a fine CPU, just like K8.

Well I don't really care about K8L because I know it's going to be good, and any performance comparison is still pure speculation.

Any words on ATI/AMD's AM2+ chipset? I haven't heard anything about ATI's new AM2+ chipset and I think that's what makes or break K8L.

Loose lips sure as hell didn't hurt Intel with it's Conroe. People were able to get benchmark results six months before it's official launch. If you've got a killer CPU, flaunt it or at the very least release a few benchmarks as leaks and gauge consumer interest. Just my 2 cents...

It's not even called K8L, it's called Barcelona. k8L is made up by Intel.

Actually they were never late with K8.
They officially announced the date of it launch January 31, 2003 to be in September 2003. And we all know they did it.

Okay, let me get this straight. K8 wasn't late because AMD delayed the projected launch date several times between 2000 and 2003 from H1-01 to H2-03 and then met their last projected launch date? Using that logic, if AMD announces tomorrow that Barcelona will be delayed until H2-05 and then launch it in H2-05 it will be right on schedule.

But was the H1-01 from Amd themselfes or was it rumor based on some rumors site? That is a very important question. So please if anyone have a press release from Amd themselfes to prove it please post the link

    As for K8l
AMD themselfes have said it comes in H2 07 (Thats Barcelona K8l Server Opteron..NOT Desktop)
    Thats from the June Roadmap.

Theres a newer now , but its a little bit more unclear, but following the newer im pretty sure it comes out in h2 2007. So hopefully i can trust this information. If not and K8l dosent come out until later i will go for the 531 Intel Quad core. So we just have to wait and see if Amd can be trusted, but i feel that they can

And it seems that The Server name for the Opteron Quad 1xxx core will be Budapest

So if AMD tells the hardware press about a new CPU that they intend to launch in 2001 and issues roadmaps showing it, it doesn't count unless they put an official press release on their website and never take it down?

Face it, K8 launched years later than AMD planned and announced, official press release or not. I never said that K8L will arrive years late like the K8, it's hardly revolutionary after all. IMO K8L may arrive on schedule in Q3, it may be delayed by a few months or it might even arrive early. I don't know and I don't have a crystal ball to see the future so I'll leave those of you with them so you can get back to discussing how great K8L must be since AMD fans have been talking about it for a long time.
