I worked from the top down to get these numbers.

    Cooling Stock AIR | Bios MSI 7900GTX Rev 2 | Delta 50

    Mem 2.03v
875 Very minimal but noticable at times
    870 Say 1 or 2
865 Completly artifact free and playable

    Core 1.4v
    720 Artifacts in menu
    715 Minor artifacts in game
    710 Perfectly fine

    F.E.A.R loves it @
    710/865 (1730)

Before the mod artifacts would apear above 695/1680 in F.E.A.R on same bios. On stock bios the same numbers were achieved.

3DMark 05... basically I threw it in at the deepend with 710/875 and it got thought it ok but with serious artifacts appearing.

The score is low because what you see open is what I left open I was just trying to see how stable the card was also the CPu is only at 2.5 for the moment.

Is it better to have 0 Delta in bios or not?
So pencils work? Nice.. How many times do you have to ''stroke'' it?

My GTO is currently in its box, it doesn't function properly. Screen sometimes flashes black.

When I penciled I got a LOWER voltage.... duh of course!!
The picture says 1.2k to 1.8k
1.2k is the standard resistance indeed!
With penciling you LOWER the resistance... somehow in this case with a HIGHER resistance the voltage goes up, must have to do with the PCB layout or whatever... so penciling in this (my) case gives lower voltages... not good

You know... f**k it... it's a 242 euros card, it runs 700/800 without a sweat and I'm satisfied... no soldering on this one no sir

Try not to do any SMD soldering/unsoldering if you have no experience

True, but be careful, those SMDs are small and not so easy to solder, no space around them for error

Just to clarify: to get 7900GTX performance out of the EVGA 7900GTO can you simply flash the bios with the GTX bios and clock it, or do you need to perform a v-mem mod like johnnyliu3377 did?

If it can run GTX speeds then you obviously don't need to flash the BIOS... flashing the BIOS will most likely not improve the overclocking abilities of the card anyway.
If you flash it to GTX however, you can run SLI with a 'real' GTX... that's the only reason I would flash, if I had bought a GTX previously.

Has anyone have trouble with these cards not switching from 2d speeds to 3d speeds? For some reason both cards refuse to change from their 275Mhz 2D core speed when any 3d app is run (3Dmark,Aquamark,Oblivion and so on..) so I have been getting some terrible results (65K in Aquamark). I also have no way of changing the clocks as the 2d-3d performance tab does not show up in the overclocking tab (tried about 5 different sets of drivers). Sorry if this is too off topic?

    Have you tried Rivatuner?
    Works flawlessly here...
I can check it with MBM5... I have the MBM which displays all of the DFI sensors correctly

The originally GTX resistor set value:

on the left resistor is 1k ,the right side is 560 ohm

than GTO is left 1.2k and right is 1k ohm

You have both cards, GTX and GTO?

    Can you confirm this?

In GTO 1.2Kohm SMD resistor is REFIN value to ILS6534. Refin value affect FB2 value, which is VDDR out.

Is there any other differences between GTX and GTO?

If I get enough information I will make Vmem mod guide to Xtreme mods section

I have to RMA my card, was there from start, high pitched noise during some games in the menus, or animations or when loading up new maps etc (rarely during ingame tho). Faulty cap(s), like 90% sure:

Here's an example I recorded with a mic from FEAR menu http://media.putfile.com/fear-valikoima

Such a shame, clocked up to 700/850 on stock volts & bios...

Please Nvidia use better quality on the caps in future thx.
