This is the Core 2 Duo Overclocking thread, any overclocking results can be posted. Needless to say, benchmarks count.Originally Posted by famich

We had a discussion about that before, but how do you test your stability then ? Do you test it in games / e.g. Oblivion , which is IMHO very CPU demanding / or how ?

my e6400 is stable at 3.44 with 1.5vcore. Is that a little too high? idles at 45C and dual prime brings it to 53C even after 10 hrs. (core temps) Its a week 26. I thought the newer weeks OC better with less vcore?

Can anyone tell me how I can change the multi in the BIOS? I think it's in CPU configuration but it is locked.

On P5W DH u cant change multi in bios (yet), however it can be done with a program CrystalCPUID (function/intel inhanced speedstep control).

Just took some nasties off my E6400...
Looks like 4C better idle, and 7C load. Def worth the time. As a side note, I lapped dry instead of wet this time. Results were a bit less satisfactory, but it took A LOT less time. Did the Zalman too since it had machining grooves I could feel.
1M @ 3.4GHz and BSOD'ed soon after.
3.2GHz dual primed for 10 mins till I got bored and aborted...
On Intel stock HSF.

just looking the super pi speed 17s? My e6600 at 3.1ghz does it in 16. So does this mean the 2mb extra cache comes into play?Originally Posted by The_Hardstylez

specv yeah the extra 2MB cache has a big impact on SuperPI scores
Yeah, the 2 MB extra on the conroe make's a big different in superpi.

Guess not all chips are good.
Best I can do with my e6400 and P5b Deluxe is 2600mhz with voltage on auto.
I tried for awhile to get it above 330 using 1.5vcore. I also bumped up the Northbridge voltage, and ran my Corsair 6400 at 2v instead of 1.9. No dice.
I also went straight to 400x8 since some say 350-400FSB is not good on this mobo. At least it booted to Windows...
Temps were only 55c full load.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know...
