why? I'm practically begging for a pci-e x8 on the p5w board.

And there are other soundcard companies beside Creative who might make one
Though, I agree with you that 1X slots p!ss me off. I think they should all be 4X at least. I'd rather they just make them all full length (ie. ATI physics scenario), but that makes things space tight/more expensive.
It has been far too long for DFI to bring out this board. As other were saying, Oskar Wu or Tony OCZ should be modding the BIOS very shortly.
Personally, I am really into DFI just because they overclocked better (939 wise). I sincerely hope that this board will live up to DFI standard.
Either this one with a modded BIOS or a Foxconn for me very soon.

Nobody buys this board to enjoy some dolby BS. This board is purely for overclocking...If you want better sound, just get an X-Fi.Originally Posted by knacky

dfi use alc883
lol
why i have to spend 100€ in a dolby digital live card if i could buy one abit or foxconn at same price?
i will exchange my asus m2n-sli to abit or foxconn for sure

Sorry, am I on the wrong forum? Is this AudioFreaks.org?
You want massive overclock? Get a board designed for that (DFI).
Want good sound onboard? Buy a board that has dolby digital.
Want both? Get a DFI and an XFI.

Well so far we haven't seen a massive OC either. Maybe the DFI NF4 board is the best?

Despite its fancy new architecture, onboard memory, support for Dolby Digital ES and DTS-EX output, and THX certification, the X-Fi won't encode Dolby Digital Live. According to Creative, Dolby Digital Live support would make the X-Fi more expensive due to both licensing costs and the need for additional tank RAM on the chip. Creative also asserts that Dolby Digital Live encoding introduces a small amount of latency, and points out that it's limited to 5.1-channel output. Perhaps more notably, Creative says that Dolby Digital Live encoding can't handle DRM-protected content since it passes unprotected data through a digital output. That's an interesting limitation, although PC enthusiasts have never really been enthusiastic about DRM-encrusted content.

Just got the pricing info from Malaysian distro... price after conversion is USD$294 for the LP UT NF590 SLI-M2R.

I am sure conversion rates and initial tight supply are causing this. I bet you will see it down to $200 rapidly as availability increases.Originally Posted by FLMJIGGY
