bios 0405 multies locked FSB to 500MHzOriginally Posted by dinos22
bios 0507 multies unlocked FSB to 650MHz ( bit of a joke that..505 is the max I could get unmodded)

i'm asking you how much your max OC changed from first bioses to the latest ones
Max OC for that retail E6600 has not changed from 3.6GHz using later bioses, however when approaching 500MHz FSB max cpu clocks do reduce, as to what level I have not determinded.Originally Posted by dinos22
Can I see a pic of the motherboard after the mod is done
max FSB OC i should say sorryOriginally Posted by bugeyes
shipping bios I could max out at 400MHz, 0405 I could max out at 400MHz (limited by locked multies), 0507 will only give me 505MHz though I'm sure it will go higher if I get rid of the N/B passive heatpipe.Originally Posted by dinos22

TAKE TWO
Hi AndreYang & tanghiro - re-posting as a few of us here are asking / awaiting this info
( i ) Can either of you please post a picture of the completed mod ?
( ii ) Can you please advise the highest FSB you can get when using
just 1.65v for the MCH ?
Many thx,
Ben.
You reckon that the NB is that bad then?Originally Posted by bugeyes
I was thinking of replacing it with the TT Extreme Spirit II. and leaving the voltage heaty's on. Using silver as the compound. on both. Sawing the bar off in between them.
It was a long road and one that is now over. Behold the updatedrig:

Could you plz post the info requested above as im about to order two of these bords for new setups paired with E6400's and TEAMgroup DDR2 5300 kits, but still don't see how exactly to do the mod.Originally Posted by ben ifin

- could you please post pics of a more general (zoomed) out view, as the only pics i have seen show a wire or two attached to the resistor, not an overall view of the completed circuit?
Here is my elite image manipulation for 1.65V, is it right at all ?
My soldering skills are good but im not sure exactly what to do yet, and i think some other people need help understanding too.
Thanks very much lads![]()

CAL930 posted another way to mod the vMCH in a thread about the Asus P5B DeluxeOriginally Posted by adfinni

Maybe easier to do this version of the mod

Can we have some informations about it ?Originally Posted by Jmax_oc
No I don't think it's bad at all... 266MHz out to 500MHz thats pretty good, I'm just trying to make the point that as I got to 500MHz @ 1.45v to the N/B any more volts gained nil mhz, that could and I stress the word could mean heat is a factor.Originally Posted by Moonraker™
I wouldn't be sawing anything in half, particularly your mobos heatpipe, leave it be, but if your a compulsive tinkerer, remove it and replace with whatever, buy some ram sinks for power mosfets.
another VMCH modded.

Hi AndreYang
How high a FSB were you getting with just 1.65v in the MCH ?
Ben
I presume this resistor is suitable:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...=SEO&U=strat15
Then solder the relevent pins (leaving the top one unconnected ?)
Once installed do you incease its resistance to max then turn it down until the voltage measured goes up to 1.65V ????
thanks

P5B-Deluxe
The ClockGen Tools use it is possible.?
Is it possible to know how to you get such sample memory ?Originally Posted by jmax_oc

Does this board allow for high ratios like 4:3 ?
P5B Deluxe didn't support ClcokGen and setFSB yet.Originally Posted by OC_Windforce
P5B Deluxe 4:5 has some problems. You need to use 1:1 or 2:3.Originally Posted by 775911
