For testing, it's a lot easier to run outside of a case. Can change out components much faster. My daily system is housed in a Mountain Mods case. Best case I've ever owned.

That's a Tuniq Tower 120. Does a really good job. It's heavy but I've used it on boards mounted sideways in a case.

Thanks, gocchin. The case uses eight fans. I have eight Yate Loons and as you know, they're very quiet.

I have not tried for a screenshot higher than 4054MHz. Generally I don't like to post screens unless I can run something with it, like SuperPi 1M. For me, it has to be benchable in some form.

The biggest obstacle with unmodded board is of course FSB. Without mod, you will run into a brick wall. Lowering the multiplier does not help, at least in my case. I believe kyosen has reached 485 with 7 multiplier and a modded board. And kaz-n has hit 502 with 6x and 4:3 ratio.

I think he was using air. 502X6 is only 3GHz. More importantly he was using 1.975v for Vmch. In order to do 480+ you generally need at least 1.9v.

Hm is there any certain N/B chip or something one should get to achieve high FSB? Seems like it vary some between users.

    502FSB air is insane

The problem is the FSB wall. I've bought some VR's and will probably do the Vmch and Vdimm mods in the near future.

Yes, less voltage with Vapochill. I think I also had a bad mount. Will give it another try either late tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks. Actually I have not tried maximum voltage yet. Personally I'm not interested in just a CPU-Z validation shot. I want to be able to run 32M. Of course, it may be that he has a better chip than me, which is fine. More power to him. Still, I'm not exactly disappointed with my E6600.
