There are pictures and all the specifications here @ the inquirer!

    http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=30130

Geforce 7900 GTX works at 650MHz core and 1600MHz memory. The chip is developed on 90 nanometre marchitecture and has 278 million transistors. The card sports 512MB of 256-bit memory and the chip is significantly smaller than ATI's R580.

The chip has twenty-four pipelines, sixteen ROPs and eight vertex Shaders. It has a total bandwidth of 51.2 GB/s and can perform 1400 millions vertices in second. It has a peak of 120W power consumption. That's a lot for a single card, and you can double that for an SLI system or quadruple it for a four-card configuration.

The slower Geforce 7900 GT features a similar design but comes as a single-slot card clocked at 450MHz core and 1320MHz memory. The card uses the same 256-bit memory but has 256MB only. It has 24 pipelines, 16 ROPs and 8 vertex Shaders. The card will have a peak of 82W power consumption.

The Geforce 7900 GTX should cost between $499-$649. Nvidia recommends a price of approximately $499 for retail cards. The Geforce 7900 GT should cost around $299 and will indeed be an attractive card.

Why on earth would they put 1.2ns in the 7900GTX512 when they had 1.1ns in the 7800GTX512 ???!!!

XTX for same price will have guaranteed 1.1ns Plus scores coming out show that Nvidia go for 03 and 06 domination...20k doesnt look like it will fall with 79xx.

read somewere they are going for lower mem clocks but with tighter timings.
that and maybe its cheaper to get large quantities of 1.2ns ram then it is to get 1.1.

well GPUs are not that sensitive to bad latencies.. I think if that is true they are trying to keep the price low
Fast computers breed slow, lazy programmers
The price of reliability is the pursuit of the utmost simplicity. It is a price which the very rich find most hard to pay.

Modern Ram, makes an old overclocker miss BH-5 and the fun it was

To offset the higher cost of 90nm chips for nvidia, perhaps.

Actually the chips themselves will be cheaper to make.. but it is the cost of installing the Process that is the price factor

Yeah thats what I figured as well. Nvidia didn't want to have to put expensive components in a card that won't sell.

And as of now... 11,3xx stock on an FX-60 @ 3GHz isn't what I would call spectacular

I see what I see, and you see what you see. I can't make you see what I see, but I can tell you what I see is not what you see. Truth is, we see what we want to see, and what we want to see is what those around us see. And what we don't see is... well, conspiracies.

not really 6 months, like 5 months ago the first few dripped in 4 months ago large scale availability.

    btw
read in a few articles that large OEMs also start to include power usage and heat generation in their choice of graphics cards.
wich could give the 7900GT a benefit if that cooler it has on the pics is true.
price performence wise i think its competitor is the X1800XT but they stopped making them a few ago so i guess there wont be enough stock of em.

By the time these are in large scale availability, its going to be a full six months. My point still stands.

is that a ... single card causing all that damage? Scores look like SLI because the're incredibly high, but doesn't say SLI anywhere.
