I think showing us how the voltage fluctuation is might be useful. Granted my current Expert board has small fluctuations in the voltages, the use of these aluminum caps should further reduce the amount of fluctuation across the board. Just my 2¢.

    Guys

    Got some info for you.

Dimm layout changed, reworked to improve ram overclcoking even further. Improved caps etc as you already know.

Board now clocks TCCD and TCC5 and UCCC better than eXpert, 4 dimm overclocking improved as you see from the screenie, 4xBH5 at 2-2-2- 273fsb 2T was shown to me.

Overall Oskar tells me this board was built for 4 dimm clocking but 2 dimm has been improved, many changes.

I will have one soon...looks to be another monster from the DFI camp.

Things are starting to look up for this board. What once seemed like some extra cables, new caps, and a very sweet box is now showing some serious OC ability.

if the Venus actually reports temperatures accurately, then I'm going to fight tooth and nail to have this funked-up Expert board RMA'd for one...

"THE board for overclockers" my arse... how can that be when it inconsistently under-reports temps by as much as 20C?!

lol.. other than that, i love my Expert.. but mannnnn this temp issue is irking the hell out of me! lol..

Something tells me its a damn nice looking and high performing cascade.

I am looking forward to testing ala a long term, and unbiased, member.

If its better, its better. But unless its tons better I cant justify going through the irritation of trying to get this board unloaded for a few extra MHz....then again, this is all about the Xtreme. Eh, who knows...knowing my stubborn self I will upgrade for the few extra Mhz...

I am not the HellFire that writes bios files. I work strictly on voltage modifications.

i do hope the "changes" make it into the normal expert when all is said and done.. no point of making a good board to just make a better one for limited run, then go back to the good board

    AB0 lost that issue already.

Guys remember when you are pushing boards this far you will always find issues with a design, you will always find ways to make improvements.

I think this will be Oskars last DDr1 board for AMD apart from RD580 which im told will perform just like venus. AM2 is the next huge thing and ddr2 will breed a whole new line of DFI boards im sure.

DFI-EU told today "late Feb '06" ... Price not really fixed - could be in the 270€ range . Dunno is that`s the final on the price nor the "real" eta ... as there could be delays (as we have seen with the Expert ...) ...
