X1800 Xl = Wow!

the problem is that some time ago i could easily make my card run at 640\1330 in benchmarks and at 625\1330 in all the games. it was absolutely stable! the voltage was 1.2-1.225. And all was just great. Then i found the way to overclock my mem to 730 and more. I was about to set up a new record for myself at 640\1520, but the core now isn't able to work properly.. temperature is ok.

I have one question for those of you guys that use a Zalman VF700, did someone make a compare with the naked ram and with the provided sinks on?

so, i'm one of those guys)) memory chips are not too hot, but i advise you to use them) i spent one week without sinks only because i was too lazy)))

Do you remember how it translates into volts and Mhz?

it was just ok for memory to run at 1400 without sinks (2.184\2.004)

This is a good question - I have no idea. I am doing nothing special in regards to setup. I even had Norton running in the background. I do have memory timing set really tight, but other than that everthing else is set to driver defaults. I can look anything up if you would like.

i have no more ideas of what it can be, damn it all... gonna have some sleep, guys... and then gonna make this fu**ing card work at the clocks I want it work at. (hm, sorry for my English... i haven't visited any foreign forums for a year or more... think i'm one of very few russian guys here... or just russian-speaking, like alt-f13

I'm not sure there even is a cure, those boards are damn finicky to say the least.

Not sure what results your comparing to as there are a lot of them in this thread - but keep dreaming. My old 7800GT with the same clocks and a 4400+ would barely touch 8200. To hit 9k or venture "near" 10K you are going to need a LOT more out of both your CPU and your 7800. Good luck.

I'll get my HIS X1800XL card on saturday and if it works/clocks properly I'll post some results

Do you guys recommend to run 3dmarks with 1gb or 2gb ram? Or is there any difference at all?

i'm really impressed with this video card(X1800XL). Today arrived my zalman vf700 and i installed it and went to benchmarks. For my surprise, with 693 on the core with 1.3v and 711 on memo with 2.250v, i finally managed to reach the 10000 3dmarks wall(10028 to be more acurate). Now i'm running for normal use 625/645 with voltages at 1.150/1.935/1.935 that returned with 9190 3dmarks05.

thanks Vassmar, i'm trying to improve even more. This card is insane. I was thinking to purchase a XT but i only will if 512Mb makes difference in modern games.

Ok i re installed cats 5.11

My artifacts are GONE!

5.12 and 5.13 have huge bugs

I hope I am not the only one with the problem, that way ATi will fix it!

I also got artifacts, in 3dmark 05 that is. Is there any differnce in performance with 5.11 vs. 5.12?

Here i increased my 3d marks05 in 300 points from 9700 to 10000. And my 24/7 over,jumped from 9050 to 9200.
