nice review :P thx
oh and for all people pming me :P
those boards are all already sold!
read the thread, i ordered them for members of this forum, im not selling themim just hooking them up with a local shop who had some of the last stock of theese boards
there are some p4gd1 boards left in communist errr dictator controller errrr free russia![]()
those are the very last stock worlwide it seems...
but corruption seems to be still a major issue so you have to pay the right people so the boards dont get "lost" when shipped outisde of russia, wich is a few hundret bugs appearently :/
will see if i can find something... i know 2 people who travel from moskau to germany ever couple of months, one of them is a professor with a geek son hehehe
hes been bringing hardware with him to russia a couple of times already, ill ask him if he can help me![]()
ive got some good news and some bad news
bad news, shipping the 11 boards to cirthix is more complicated than we thougt.
11 boards are around 17Kilos, a box between 10 and 20 kilos to the us costs 60€. thats the price we calculated with. BUT it turns out that this is shipping via ship! wich means it would take some weeks :/
to make it go via airmail it would cost another 64€ extra, so 124€ for shipping those 11 boards. thats around 8$ more shipping for each board...
now i checked the weight and the boards alone actually only weight around 700gr each, so thats 8 kilso for just the boards... this means i could put all the boards wrapped in this air-bag foil and put them in one box and itll most likely be eblow 10kg.
10kg to the us costs 30€ and 67€ via airmail... so that would be the same shipping cost cirthix and me already calculated with, BUT you wouldnt get the cables and manual and wouldnt get the original asus mainboard box either...
i can probably send a few cables in case somebody really needs them, but overall almost everybody would have to agree that they get no cables/manual/asus mobo box.
if 10 or 9 people say its ok, then i will send the boards without cables manual and asus mobo box, wich would mean no extra shipping.
if more than 1-2 people want the cables etc, then itll be around 8$ extra shipping for each mainboard.
to keep this simple, if you dont care about the cables etc, then dont do anything, if you would rather want the cables manual mobo box, then please pm cirthix about this.
that way we can quickly check if there are more than 2 people who would prefer the cables
to make this decision as easy as possible for you i made pics of what we are actually talking about here:
4 sata cables, 2 pata cables, one floppy cable, one (heavy) manual, one cd, one case sticker (ill send you the sticker either way
) one printer port thing and one usb/firewire/game port blade thing...

now the good news!!!![]()
i asked cpulloverclock about the 865/875 chipset tweaker (like the a64 tweaker but for intel) and he said franck from cpuz actually wrote it. franck is a friend of me and i asked him about it, and he liked this group order idea and said he will support us by writing an app to tweak the p4gd1 boards in windows
it would actually be a 915 tweaker and will probably work with other 915 and maybe even 925 boards as well![]()
Well, the good news is great! AND the bad news isn't too bad , besides IO shields who really cares about the other crap? The USB/ serial port might be usual for some peeps, but other than that I think we'd all be fine.
Manual, I assume can be downloaded as well as drivers.
just to clarify Saaya, this is only affecting the US side of the operation, or will the weight issue also affect us european customers ?
no, im sending your boards all one by one, and the weight for a single box is 2kg max and a board doesnt weight that much![]()
Either way doesn't matter to me. I'd pay the extra shipping if people want the full package but I don't care for myself. I would like to have the IO sheild, allthough I probably won't be using it either.
The only thing that concerns me is the packaging, it seeml like it's going to be a LOT of trouble for you to package that many mb's well enough to prevent damage without the original boxes. You've done a great job with this so far, so I'll go with your decision..![]()

I'll pay the extra 8 bucks for getting my box and cables. What's 8 bucks on top of 150?

Who cares about the cables, you can find them at any computer shop. The english version of the manual is downloadable from the asus website (I already downloaded a copy and started reading it). Thanks a lot saaya and cirthix for everything, you guys own! Nice pics

I may have found another source for P4GD1s in Germany but since I don't read or speak German, I can't be sure if they actually have them in stock. If you end up getting any from this store, could I please buy one from you for my trouble? Please?Originally Posted by saaya

Shouldn't you be able to use RMclock to lower multi with this board? Or maybe even centrino hardware control... it's basically the same chipset as the sonoma.Originally Posted by RoyaL

Well, I'd really like to have the I/O shield, and the SATA cables would be nice, since I'd pay more than 8 bucks for 4 of them, and I have none.Originally Posted by saaya
The manual I don't particularly care about (I've got the PDF), nor the CD, and while the USB / game port thing would be nice to have, it's not overly important.
However, I do share boshuter's concerns: how much do you trust the shipper to get those across the ocean in one piece if they're not packed in the boxes?
i think if saaya puts the mobos in boxes and just takes out the manual and stuff (but leaves i/o shield), we can make the shipping cutoff. i'll talk to him about it and i share your concerns about shipping the mobos outside of their retail boxes.
