ASUS MAXIMUS III Formula - Retail Version
-
looking good :) hope to see some nice results on it Zolkorn
-
CRAP!!! EXTREMELY great looking mobo! Sad it is not for i7
-
Why is that ? You can also have 8 (Ht enabled) core CPU's on it
-
reminds me of red and black of Classy
but wow those heatsinks are small
-
gene version review please :)
-
You should begin seeing both this board and the GENE shortly. I have had the chance to work with both of them and they have been very smooth in clocking. Of course I am not Xtreme like you guys but from the numbers I have seen internally I think you will be impressed. As for the heat sinks we are focusing on ensuring good quality cooling but without being excessive and putting cooling solutions that are not practical or impede your ability to mount different water blocks or heat sinks. P55 platforms really just tend to be much cooler than X58 even at higher frequencies, I have been impressed with the cooling and numbers I have seen. Everyone please enjoy the rest of your day.

illuminatiASUS
thank you
-
wow, waiting your nice test abang
-
what does the "go button" do? and is there some kind of feature to the memory slots having only 1 clip?
-
I'm liking basically all the P55 boards, this one maybe the most
Wonder what kind of prices these will be on release.
-
Nice board... I have in my hand too and so far I try performance very promising....waiting your result Paizol.....:)

bro it can support i7 870 even so its a perfect fit for next gen of cpuz!!!
-
I wonder if the Dual-Channel property will affect it's performance. LOG - What is the Go Button for?
-
Maybe its just me.. but why give a P55 chipset a maximus brand label? Seems kinda pointless as maximus is associated with nothing but the best (X58) which the P55, is not...
-
i have also the ASUS MAXIMUS III Formula at me home as whee speek :D
-
Isn't 'Rampage' the name Asus give their top end board? Ie: Rampage II Extreme (X58). I thought the P45 was a midrange chipset and they named the ROG P45 the Maximus II Formula. That was in contrast to the top end X48 with DDR3 (Rampage Extreme) and top end x48 with DDR2 (Rampage Formula).
In my opinion Maximus = mid range and Rampage = top end but maybe that's just me.
I do hope this M3F is not another M2F, ie: good looks, high price, average performance.
-
Not that I see. The M2F using the P45 was somewhat of a freak, all other P45 boards came under the P5 branding. I hope asus don't start churning out boards with a high pricetag (they seem to think the name asus warrants +£50 over other manufacturers), good looks, and a sub-standard chipset for the pricepoint and marketing it as "the best".

cant wait for some overclocking results to start showing up! Also KET is right when the "maximus" name started it was the maximus formula on the X38 "high end" chipset so really they should keep it that way but maybe they mean maximus as "maximum feature, ok overclocking"?
-
chuck norris would quiver in fear of this board.
-

-
How is Asus' general bios support? As good as evga? Or do they not need much bios support as they work off the bat (wishful thinking I know)?
-
Just.....wow! Loved my MAximus 2....but this board is sweet. Also looks nice with the MARS in it!
lol
-
Very nice and sweet looking and components. Very2 promising board :up:
Waiting for the result...
-
Can you force the Turbo Multiplier on this board?
Like with 920, allways on etc.
-
Nice nice pretty motherboard !
-
All these teaser shots and no results  Get on it guys, NDA is up :D
-
I need to see results =) I need to know what's the max stable bclk, i want to know the vdroop, and overclocking stability. I'm counting this board and Evga Classified, to see what's the best option avaiable.
I really need to retire my AMD.
Waiting for your results fellas! :yepp:
-
yeah, this board actually looks promising, LOTS of Bios settings, put up nice and tidy, there are show volts, as you can see current voltage set,(yes i know other has it to) like it anyway :)
8 fan headers(controlable) as they all are 4 pins, Actually Asus also got Voltage measure points on this board?! thats sweet! =) Some leds here and there,(looks a bit nice)
so why the heck not? Well there are allways Evga =) , the maximus lands on 2500kr swedish kronor =) thats pretty heavy though, the Evga havent come up on any tailer here yet so i cant tell.
but sure looks promising =)
-
May I ask why this is in the Review Section? I would like to see a review of this board and this thread just looks like a couple of pictures.
-
so u cant run 2 video cards and enough room for a sound card?ummm xfi is needed,no comprimise here regardless of how enticing onboard sound has come.i dont run onboard video or sound..
-
For those interested i found the first little quick review over at http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/...ds/1943_1.html :)
Damn good looking board, but performance wise I will wait for att better indepth review.
-
Yeah, i just got back from reading it.... not that it was much lower, but the board are allways behind half the others ...howcome?
-

-
I will have the board and an i7 860 here by monday.... and a full dewar of LN2 will see how they do with the nose dripping...

Have you result with max Bclk ?
I have the Asus Maximus III Gene, micro-ATX and for the moment max Bclk is 221MHz with i750
I have put the vtt voltage but already 221...
I await an other cpu to test but I think that is the motherboard...
