What psu do you use , what temps do you have?
Try 1.45v-1.5v and 2.85ghz
i have an antec 550W 24pin psu. i'm running at 2750Mhz with vcore at 1.45. temp is showing 46/48 that's cpu0/cpu1 respectively while orthos is running right now. while i was testing and doing burn-in last night, i notice cpu0 is always the one crashing, but the temp reported by CoreTemp shows cpu0 running by a few degrees cooler than cpu1. also, when i first installed this opty, i was able to temporarily boot into winxp at 2900Mhz. i've been trying to get back to 2800 or 2850 all day today.Quote:

this is going down the list and i hope you can decipher it :).
275 htt
3x
10x multi
memory is on a divider 180, i wish i could run 1:1 or 200 on these g.skill, but 270Mhz htt is the max the memories can handle. I'm thinking i might have to relax the settings some more. I really appreciate your helping me with this :). Thanks in advance.
woot

from neweggs tennessee's warehouse. i have another one coming tomorrow also.
i'll post the results from this one in a bit!

core 0 is good on this 0616xpmw but core 1 is crap.
running at 2.7ghz right now at stock voltage. stressing with orthos as i type this.
i cant even get 2.9ghz from core 1 at 1.5v 8( orthos crashes immediately on core #1 when trying higher than 2.7ghz.
this is the chip i'll give to my friend. :D
he is running a PIII 933 right now, so i don't think he'll complain!
load temps on both cores within 1 degree of each other using coretemp
full load at 45c with IHS still attached w/water. only half my fans running in my system. if i turned the other half on it will drop by 5c more...
oops, double post
great chip ;) mine does 3.0 @ 1.55, but it gets too hot. i need H2O ...Quote:

I was on water he was on air. He installed some Peltier Hybrid unit and suddenly his chip was nearly matching mine. I think he needed 1.5v to hot 3006MHz. Our conclusion was that these things work much more efficiently with just a few degrees better cooling. This isn't supercooling at minus 30c or something, just a 10c difference will drop the Vcore below 1.5v for 3006MHz. FWIW
maybe i should pop the lid...Quote:

alright, got my 2nd 165 in today from the tennesee warehouse(newegg).
its a 0610dpmw which seems to be a good stepping.
i wont be able to test till tomorrow night or sunday though. i hope its better than my 0609fpmw!
is there something wrong with the chip in your sig ??? 2.96 @ 1.4v ! what more do you want ;)Quote:

but, if not..i'll be happy with what i have already. 8)
i'd love to have a chip that can do 2.9Ghz or better with low vcore :). any way you can hook me up with a good stepping 165 from the warehouse haste? also, with people running their 165 in the 2.8Ghz and above, could you please show your bios settings. i'd like to see bios settings so i can hopefully get mine to run a little faster. thanks in advance.
what settings do you want to know ?Quote:
