i think so....
i think so....
OMG ... such a chip :D:D
Are there any hard mods for an DFI board for more vcore ? I want to try more than 1.55 x 136% :D
I don´t know but I think no :D The most I could do was 2.01 volts about an 3500+ Venice E3....then I never get one cpu that could do that :(
Hehe, I find another screen: 3700+ @ 2.032 V :D:D
http://img237.imageshack.us/my.php?i...w2032wzdq9.jpg
Maybe I can try 2v++ on some of my crap chips lol. We'll see:D Did it on a clawhammer, but that's not TOO much. At least it survived, which means it wasn't enough.
Won't be any benching this weekend, btw. Too much work @ Univ etc etc etc...
But next weekend I hope there will be more scores from my CPU vault.:D
i had never a chip that i could boot with 2V :(
@bruce: i hope you don't crack my 3500+ wr ;)
My next project: cracking the 3500+ WR :D:D:lol:
First I have to change all my boards now 4 DFI are laying here around with no boot. :(
my target is still the 4000+ wr... 3 new cpu's on the way...
The 3400+ Newcastle socket 939 record is now mine....but I wonder how horrible cold bug that old cpus have :(
Only 219 Mhz @ -38°C....that is nothing for an Newcastle...
Have to do better temps on that cpu so i need -10°C and I will crack the 3 Ghz.
130nm cpus had NO coldbug, it only showed up in 90nm and below.
???
Where do you have this ? I can´t believe that...
no it's true. 130nm have 0 coldbug.
check out old FX55 benching when the cores were clawhammer, pedro rocha used ln2 for those runs, first chip over 4ghz was 130nm too btw.
My main targets are:
Opty 150
Opty 165
Opty 185
X2 4200+ Toledo
X2 4800+
3500+ SD
3500+ venice
3700+ SD
I want a few more, but I need better cooling for any FX WR's. Not so sure I can break all of these, but I'm pretty sure I can get that 150 WR, as well as the X2 4200+. The rest... we'll see :D Hope I have a little bit luck with the coldbug.
@ gianni, I only have a CAB1E 0607APMW 3500+ Venice, the results for KACAE 0607APMW aren't too good so I have a feeling it's not so golden. But maybe the 0617 is!;) I don't need THAT high clocks after all.
My FX53 has a coldbug. 250MHz FSB didn't work @ ~-40c (not so sure about the temp, but it did have a bug on dice). Same with my FX55 Clawhammer, btw. Not sure exactly where it had a bug, but it's not my mobo, or my memory that made it reboot. And not cpu speed either, as I was running a low multi.
r u gunna do the 754 plat-form too? lol
hey bruce, you're extrem crazy.
i like that :D
good luck for the WRs. let the battles begin :toast:
hehe this thread has now the most replies in the xtreme-overclocking-section ever (after "the world record" thread). s939 is still alive!!!
I bought a DFi nf3 250gb a few months ago, actually. :D
I'm benching with a friend, as all my stuff is in his garage (and he's the one who can get dice for free :p), and he wants to see high numbers, a 3ghz s754 is of no interest to him i think. But once I get a phase change unit I'll bench the 3 or 4 s754 chips here in my apartment;)
I hope I'll be able to bench AM2 someday, too. It all depends on the money... And when DFi releases a 790 board.
Thanks m8! Gonna need it, gianni and the others are hard to beat.
And I think 3 of us have like 50% of the posts in this thread, if not more:D
top 5 poster in this thread: :D

w00t, i'm 5th :D
maybe i'll try to battle with you with my non-coldbugged fx55 under my new single stage :)
BH are the best ;) And Single Stage wont be the best cooling for an FX You will need better cooling like casade or LN2.
Yesterday my FX-53 and the 5 Opteron 150 arrived. The Opterons all have 0532 MPMW Stepping, same wafer-id only the batch is various.
The Opteron 150 wr is hard to bet ---> bruce and I will fight back ;)
There is a reason I didn't buy those. 0532MPMW aren't THAT good. At least I think my 0534SPMW is a bit better.
But give them 2v and -50c and try to get the WR! I was SO close...
Hmm... my chip needs a little re-test I think;)
We will see ;)
2 volts wouldn´t go on an opteron and -50°C I can´t get :(
and i thought i had the golden ticket lol...
i am help back by gay ram "kingston value select" hahhahhaha poor me
anyway to tell how mine would perform under better ram currently stuck at 2.9 but 99% sure its ram holding me back.. anyway i'll add some screens just in case you can help me work out if its worth buying new ram.. im about to buy a new rig so prolly put my sandy on ebay if its not worth buying new ram..
screens: http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?i...creen03xa4.jpg
http://img259.imageshack.us/my.php?i...creen01hv3.jpg
http://img144.imageshack.us/my.php?i...creen02hy7.jpg
so yeah if anyway can work out from those screens if its worth keeping or egaying please tell me thanks in advance to anyone who can help me..
ps. its back at stock now, but stable @ 2.9 would love to know how much further it could go, i got no idea how to tell if its a good sandy or not, so thanks again if you can give me some kind of indication
You have an Asus board so overclocking is a little bit strange for you because this boards dont like high htt that you will need.
Then you have to put the ram with an divider that it will not rocks 1:1 to the cpu.
Which cooling do you take ?
Can you tell us whats written on the cpu heat spreader ?
220 ?? That cant be. I think its your RAM stopping your overclocking. Did you use a divider ?
my worst chip was an 3700+ SanDiego. somewhere near 2.6ghz stable. don't matter what vcore...
btw: it's time for openair overclocking => snowing in switzerland :)
such a crap!!! the first of my new 4000+ suxxx extremly!!!
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=265896 :(
hardcore coldbugged ~12°C!!!
:banana::banana::banana:ty cpu, hopefully are the other better
the other one: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=265931
i'm not buying s939 cpus anymore.
Hopefully is the last one an awesome one :D
the last one will never come to me!!! the guy from germany sent it 2,5weeks ago... i hate my life!
Ouch! Sorry about that.
I just won a KAB1E 0631APMW, hope it's better than those chips... I can't afford buying crap chips no more;)
Btw, are you REALLY going to stop OC'ing 939 chips? And you sent that chip insured, right? (tracking number)?
hmm, damn. that's crappy to hear :(
gianni dont have luck with the 0631 APMW....that is my luck :D
Try to get other steppings.
Yesterday I tested my FX-53 the first time and I wonder about my good temps at the single stage: -38°c @ 1.456 v @ 130 nm....that is fantastic ---> validation stopped more than 3.3 ghz so I could beat some LN2 and cascade results
howdy, last 4000+ arrived today... 2 weeks from germany to switzerland... lol...
Some results of that ?
@ bruce
Its CAAXC 0432 UPMW....that X is mysterious.
Now maximum cpu-z ist 3354 mhz @ 1.856 v @ -29°c....more I can´t get right now :(
max HTT is around 339 mhz without any cold bug under my single stage
not yet... still trying to reach high clocks... :(
New world record:
3400+ Newcastle @ 3230 mhz @ 1.840 v @ -29°c
It is an 0430 WPMW batch 44, the other one with batch 101 did only 2800 mhz :D
congratz another cheap wr :D
btw: S.I.H.
Thanks ;)
I don´t know...
@ gianni
What is S.I.H. ?
call me at skype and i'll tell you ;)
In 30 minutes I can come on, ok ?
S.I.H. => Starostise Is History
MAY I INTRODUCE THE AMD ATHLON 64 4000+ SANDIEGO FROM HELL!!!

Pi-Stable with 1.52V !!! no joke!!!
http://octs.ripping.org/amd_4000_pi.jpg
Short try with Prime95
http://octs.ripping.org/amd_4000_prime.jpg
Omg, that's the chip you've been waiting for !!
default vcore with my chiller:
http://valid.x86-secret.com/cache/266280.png
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=266280
omg, thats the best 4000+ i've ever seen. the vcore ist just amazing low
hehe yes... i have to try that chip under dice... because i'm not really sure where the coldbug is... i've tried 1.88V but didn't help...
during the chiller session the cpu hangs always at this score:
http://valid.x86-secret.com/cache/266281.png
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=266281
at this time i haven't realized that the bus-speed was so high... lol... :D
THAT IS AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
Well done gianni ;)
The score with that low voltage is huge...I can´t believe that right now....have to sleep one more day over this :D
Now my 0631 APMW is the past: the future is 0626 FPMW, no 0631 APMW or 0631 GPCW :D
Thats really nice! Congratz!
But why is your pi-Time so bad? is it only the consequence of the low memory-clock.
 Nice 4000+! I don't even have 1 atm...:D They're all in the CPU-paket vol 2 I think;) And the 3700+ that can break your WR could be in it as well:D
If I ever post G.I.H. then you know why;)
What about some pi benches, btw? You'll get some CRAZY scores at that speed!
PS: I was away, but my stupid pc rebooted so I was logged on to msn while I wasn't really here:clap:
@ select
yes its because of the low clocks of the ram --> 133 mhz is as slow as all :D
Hehe now i´m know the S.I.H. --> next will be G.I.H. or K.I.H. :D
S.I.H. --> starostice or stunned_guy thats the question :D
I love that art of battle between us three.
Today I tested 3 of the Opteron 150 but failed to make a record :( Best was more than 3600 mhz....
Bruce, are you the man who is ever asking questions on ebay.de or ebay.com ? gianni told me your real name ;) Nice...
Look at ebay.com right now there are some interesting steppings for example 3700+ 0516 WPAW or 0516 MPMW.
next weekend i'll cracking some non-fx superpi-records from stephen. :D
With payless DICE its no problem :D
I can´t get the wr with that 0532 MPMW...only near 3.6 Ghz are possible. :(
Cold Bug with that BG memcontroller could I find if I tested some. This will be this or next week ;)
Yesterday I get an old 3500+ Clawhammer 0507 BPMW...should be very interesting for me and it was very cheap :D
If you had sked me about those 0532's I could've warned you;) What's funny is that the picture in the auction was of a 0534SPMW, which will probably be the WR stepping after this weekend (unless something funny happens:D ).
Good luck with the Claw, I'm going to get a few of those myself, once I can afford it. But dual core + sd is my main focus atm:D And getting a new Venus!!
Yesterday i got a new Venus and the world record Opteron 170 :D  Its that cpu from the hungarian.
Good luck with it, doubt you'll get too much better score, those BQ's coldbug like hell... and he was already at 1.77v/8c or something;) But if you go for it, I'm sure you'll make it:up:
I see you're 2nd, btw.
Ahhh, damn 170's, only Opty DC i don't own:D but i THINk I bought one with the same stepping a while back... not 100% sure, though (haha!).
PS: Do you know that there were about 5 or 6 0626FPMW's that neither of us grabbed when they were sold on ebay??
there were a lot more than 5 or 6 at ebay.. i've never bought one because my first 0626fpmw's aren't really good....
For the first time as we saw the 0626 fpmw gianni and I tested some of this and after that we decided that this stepping can´t be a record stepping. But now we have to change our opinion....
Yes, I´m second with an 0550 VPMW Opteron 170 ---> terrible cold bug at 200 mhz htt :( I could only boot with more voltage and prime freezed around 2.7 ghz :(
If the record with the new Opteron 170 won´t fall with single stage I will test it with an boxed cooler and the single stage above :D This should be the key.
Why no use an aluminium paper between IHS and Evap? That should really give you bad temps :D
I tested some plates of alu and this gave me not the temps I was seeking. After a few minutes I get the same temps like without the alu.
Or just mount the evap very bad :D
"Don´t use thermal paste" didn´t do anything...you can forget that. I even have better temps without that as with that. :D
"Don´t mount the evap so hard" is also bad because during the boo issue the cpu will make more heat than in windows and sometimes the pc shut down because of too much heat.
I tested many of that tweaks but it never brought me the right temps :( :D
get a chiller or dice ;) :)
There are a million ways of getting higher temps;) You can try to put a TINY piece of neoprene on the centre of the IHS before you mount the evap.
...another package arrived today btw:D What's inside it:
3200+ CABXE 0602APMW 139927AA60539
3500+ CDBHE 0540RPMW 1340156J50095

That's close to your batch # isn't it? :D
The junkie is BACK!!
And I think there is another package at my brother's place. Think it's the German CPU madneZZ series vol. 2;) It weighs like 3kg he said lol. Will post details about everything inside:)
How do you buy packets? :p. Just buying all the chips of one person on eBay? :D
I have a few friends in the US and in Germany, when I buy stuff I just ask the sellers to send to one of them, so I cna save a little postage expenses. Especially Germany --> Norway is horribly expensive, 30 euro for a package! But only like 5 euro for shipping within Germany so...;)
very interesting! could be the second place :D :p:Quote:

I know I know, some of these are crap but I bought alot of them a while ago. One of those 2 0507's did 3g @ 1.408v on air prime stable, btw. My AABHE 0506 needed 1.45v, so that may be the one I've been waiting for to crack your 3700+ record.
omfg, how crazy is that
? :D
You are crazy, very crazy !!!! I thought my collection is big but that is more than big.
Where do you have all the money for that ? mafia ?
3 cpus will be good enough: 3500+ CABGE 0629DPMW; 3800+ CABYE 0630GPMW and 4000+ KAB1E 0631APMW.
atm i have a big smile on my face, bruce is too much for me... :yepp:  :yepp:
OMFG!!! you made my day... on this photo are more cpus than i ever had...
sick, sick, sick!
btw: how cold is it atm in norway?
Amazing !!! I only have a few cpu less than bruce now but I tested many more than he did ;)
That ist very sick !!!!
Muahaha, nice pic. :rotf:
i've never seen so much a64s on one photo :D
it's really strange, my 4000+ is more coldbugged than last week! i've changed absolutely nothing... with the same temp the coldbug hits me at ~311mhz (last week 326mhz)...
WOW :eek:knopflerbruce you are a true amd fan... sick dude :D
