woohoo got my nozel's 2day..thanks petra!!!
With the 3.5 in I can't even see water moving in the micro res. This weekend i'll definately break the loop back down and try out the 4.5. Temps aren't bad at all though, E6420 @3.2 w/ 1.32V idle 24/29, load ~47~48 roughly. That's with a ambient of around 78F though.
If your referring to the DDC, it most certainly is NOT submersible. If it still runs at full RPM's, consider yourself very fortunate. I have an AC top that toasted 1 DDC and 50% toasted another one before I found the hole that force fed PC Ice down the screw hole next to the outlet. The first pump is totally torched and is unrepairable, the other might be salvageable but I don't know if I can be bothered.
Anyone still in need of the Nozzle kits, just saw that they are in stock at sidewindercomputers.com.Mine is enroute:)
I just installed the 4.5mm nozzle and My temps are 1-2c lower on idle and 2-3c lower on load. Could be the mount, but these are the best temps I've seen (ambiant air temps considered)
I know mx-2 says faster curing times, but what is the best way to cure it and how long should it take?
Combo of sizzle and a word I can't get past the frolicing fruit.
Translates as 'hot sh..'
hot sizzle!!!!!
Sadly... using the qcore nozzles... no change... 0 difference...
SOmeone put the 4.5 on a quad.
--pak
installed the quad nozzle last night, noticing about a 1 degree change, but still waiting on TIM to settle
I cant decide if I should put a second pump in my loop while installing these nozzles. I played around with the flow charts some, and still cant decide if getting more operating pressure would be beneficial or not. So here's what I got...D5 pump pushing through a Fuzion, EK G80 block, MCW30, and 2 EK Mosfet blocks. Add in 2 PA rads and 2 restrictive looking elbows to this mess. I'm kinda thinking more pressure for more 'squirt' might be a good idea here, so whatcha guys think...I have room for a second D5, should I or not? Are you guys with fairly loaded up loops finding the 1-2C gains those on CPU only loops are getting with the nozzles?
If there's anyone around here who deserves to get poked fun at for taking forever, it would be me... After all, the only people who have even seen performance data from my live CPU/TTV combo testbed are Quoc and a few people over at Enzotech.
I'm getting there, though... slowly but surely... plodding along...
:sofa:
I just got a new block and nozzle kit from sidewinder, took it apart to put the intake seal in and couldn't believe black silicone was used between the top plate and the o-ring! What a waste of a perfectly good good o-ring.
If it don't leak then whatever I guess. Nice block though otherwise.
I don't think it's silicone, it's just injection molded in the block. it's a good idea to clean up the excess injection meterial before you assemble the loop.
No it's silicone. I work with the stuff. Looks to me like an assembly line procedure to simplify assembling them but what the hey...if it don't leak then it's ok.
I just don't believe in using silicone with a good rubber gasket.
so are you saying the entire gasket is silicone?
Any idea where the nozzle kits are available in UK?
I got 2 packs from Petra this week and I planned to use them for my 2 quads but it seem like no improvement throught some reports.Should I install quad nozzles ?
No, the gasket is rubber its just that it's glued to the top with black silicone which is unnecessary with a rubber gasket. It's no big deal, I was just stating something I'm seeing and I don't know if they all came that way. I'll take a pic after work tomorrow.
If I could tell that (brand) then I could make a lot more money than what I do now doing something else.:rofl:Quote:

BTW. Not saying I know this first hand or anything, but a little solicone in your DDC impeller might make it pretty noisy and cause you to think it's failing. Just saying, it could happen
I will check the RPM monitor and report back. I am surprised -- as I am almost sure that I read the original pump in its design was submersible, but it does stand to reason that once you change the design from that flush molded plastic top to delrin the properties of the pump change quite significantly :o
Looks like Petra has the Nozzles back in stock. But, now they are out of the Yate Loons that I was going to get at the same time, to save on shipping. Just isn't my day!
Does the quad nozzle produce much restriction?
finally got my nozzles i cant wait to test it out on my quad o and i didnt use that weak gasket dtek included i used an o-ring so my fuzion is bowed and nozzled
I just ordered a Fuzion with nozzles for my Quad, so I'm hoping to see how that quad nozzle performs :)
I just ordered a D-tek fuzion with nozzles from sidewinders. Is there different nozzles out there for dual and quad core ?
well my report perse, after a few adjustments, which where radiator placement, I dropped about 7ºC. I can't say that this was all because of the nozzles but i guess that changing a few things did the trick... Its recommended.. I still have split temps... no way to get them close..
at idle i have 34 34 26 28
HOT 54 54 46 46 From 67 67 58 58
So I am not the only one, having core-differences like that!
some Waterblocks have it very bad, some not so. But yours are very worse. Is that normal? Looks like yor Waterblock is not mounted that well. Or the cores must have a horrible contact to the IHS
The nozzles are not available in germany. Is there a shop with low shipping-costs to germany (letter or something?) The nozzles are very small and I wouldnīt like to pay 10-15 for shipping of tiny plastic washers
also some chips are different that way as well. I have a quad back in detroit that no matter which water block, or air hsf i mount with, cores 0 and 4 are hotter than the others. Not the mobo either cuz I swapped that out as well
Ah okay, that might be possible. Just made the experience, that some Waterblocks do it better and some do it not.
Well how bout nozzles and the o-ring for germany? I really would like to figure this out. No shop in germany has them available yet. Any shop there sending out by postmail or anything like that?
www.over-clock.com (UK based) has them in stock and will ship to Germany...
Yeah, thanks a lot Marci! :)
Just ordered them now!
Anybody could tell me, what nozzles I really should try at the Q6600 and which are not necessary to test at all?
I have a non-restrictive Flowmeter and can compare the flow rates.
Radiator only is about 520l/h. Radiator with D-Tek is about 450l/h
Which nozzles should be more interesting to the Q6600? Only the two smallest?
Testing al nozzles takes me too much time and time is rare :D
It seems I've lost 17% (rough number did that calculation in my head) impeller speed from O-ring unsealed to O-ring sealed. Not sure what to account for this, we had a maximum speed of 3,008 RPM here and now the RPM cable is reporting at a maximum impeller speed of 2,434 RPM.
There is an added variable so I don't know how reliable these numbers are, the less liquid that reaches the impeller I get a few hundred more RPMs it seems from just pinching the Tygon. But I have added a few ml or 2cc of Ethylene Glycol since the O-ring was added, glycol which I did not have in the loop prior to adding the missing O-ring.
So adding the O-Ring bows and Flow is decreasing?
The water is more pressed through the copper fins with the added o-ring right?
I was able to order mine along with the fans I needed :)
Perta's rules! 35 minutes from when the order was entered to when I got the email saying the items had been shipped.
Just as fast as Overclock-uk.com ;) Paypal makes it possible. :D
That was just what I thought how it works. Okay thank you! Well, we will see, how it works. I am really interested, how much the flow will decrease from around 450l/h :D
I flew over this thread, but I havenīt seen anybody testing them on a Quad!? Is that true? Or are there any results I can compare with, if the nozzles have arrived?
I hope, that it does not take so long with the shipment. I canīt wait to have them here :D
Well I my order from Petra's arrived today, along with a blue pen!! :D
I put the gasket in the main chamber and installed the quad split nozzle.
Got it all buttoned back up, now I just have to wait for the rest of my system to arrive :) I'll be putting it together this weekend.
Oh yes, Petra's does RULE on shipping speed! I ordered everything friday and the stuff from Petra's got here first :D
Ok, I've read all 15 pages, and don't know with nozzle should I use
4,5mm for quads, righ?
Rbs
That's 'Petra's rules' Monk. lol
For clarity's sake, the kit includes a rubber washer, not an 0-ring.
Before the kit was released a few guys used 0-rings and some used ones thick enough to increase bowing. However the washer in the kit does not increase bowing, it merely ensures correct flow within the chamber.
Hell yes, Petra's does rule! I ordered some replacement EK FC8800 thermal pads for my Ultras, some more MX-2, and some more Arctic Cleaner the other day from them, and the D-Tek nozzles were out of stock. I asked them to throw in a set of nozzles and add them to my order should any new stock magically arrive in the 5.38 minutes it took them to process my order. Alex wrote me a note stating that it took him a little bit longer than 5.38 minutes to get my stuff shipped out, but that he was able to find me a stray set of nozzles, which he threw in free of charge "for being so slow". :) This is why you should all buy from Petra's Tech. Who cares if someone else has the same thing for two dollars less. The level of service you receive from Petra's is unmatched. If all other companies were like them, the world would be a much better place. Petra's, if I ever make it out to San Jose one day, dinner's on me!
Yeah, it's easy enough to be like that when a business kicks off, but to maintain that kind of service year out year in takes a special kind of folk. Alex and Quoc are all right in my book.
Seriously, the best part about Patra's is you can call them if you have to and they will give you a straight answer on stock, availability, etc.
Very rare place indeed!!!
Couldn't agree more.
Just ordered some stuff from Aus and couldn't be happier.
For me its a win win situation. I get great customer service from the guys at Petra's and its cheaper than the crap that we get dealt with in Australia.
Cheaper and better :D :D
Thanks guys
And usually arrives to us in Aus faster than from Aus retailers.
That is the kind of service we get over here, overpriced and lazy. Though I have to admit, the service from GAM was very decent, pccasegear was terrible.Quote:

Yeah, GAM stands out for his support. Have seen him helping out new case modders with bits n pieces too. When you're unknown is the time that really helps.
Petra's is awesome ordered gear, received 3 days later nice!!!
Gam is a top bloke never had trouble with him... good service fast postage time's
Best service I've come across by far in Aus is with wade @ itsdirect.com.au :)
I get my gear the day after i order it...sometimes even the same day!!!!Even if he doesn't stock something he's happy to bring it for you no worries.
It's like having my own personal computer store.. haha
I am using the "quad" nozzle on my quad core E6600 G0 running at 3.8 ghz and the temps under load went down about 2.5 C which is pretty nice imo. I cant speak about flow restriction. I have no way to measure flow that will reproduce the same results every time.
I just ordered from Petras. looking forward to receive it soon and test how much it could bring down my q6600@3.75G, now is 60 at full load
It may turn out we don't see much of a temp difference at idle, but more of a drop under load? I do think the rubber washer, diverting more flow toward the block would have to help.
Ya have to remember the price too.
Not a huge investment.
If you happen to making a new loop right now, I would say go for it for sure.
If I had an existing loop and didn't want to break into it, I wouldn't worry about it too much.. ;)
If you want every last C, just the fact we had 1 or 2 good reports posted, would probably get me to roll the dice.
That is how I see it so far, for whatever that's worth... :p:
Exactly, it's so inexpensive it's worth a try... As I'm building a new loop, there is no reason to skip it :)
Wohooo! :D
Just got my nozzles from Overclock-UK! Just simple mail and only few days from UK to Germany!
Well, let us see, what it brings to my Q6600. ;)
Maybe nothing, maybe some drop. (drop in flow for sure haha)
lol @ sig
It is a wise sentence at all :yepp:
Originally from Bruce Lee! :p:
I like it very much! Especially the words, that it can flow or crash.
My tubing wasnīt secure for 2 times (while testing the loop) and the water splashed through my case. I was very busy cleaning it all. If this happens to my computer while running, it crashes. If the tubes are secured, it flows.(~450l/h) :D
I thought you were going to say it was from a fortune cookie :)
my nozzles are pretty good and so is my new q6600 has a low vid and overclocks like a charm i got 3.2ghz @ 1.35 havent really banged out because i just got my p35-dq6 but voltages are very stable vdroop isnt that bad and temps are all around 33c except 4th core its around 28c
bruce lee is my hero!!! :)
 nice one! :D We should give this idea to a fortune cookie maker!
Mine too! Since I heard about his words regarding water and this german joke: http://www.myvideo.de/watch/103085
I donīt know, if you could understand anything, it is german, but if, it is very very funny :D :D :D
Back to topic:
Did you test it with nozzle only on your CPU? How did you fit the nozzle in your loop?
Just kidding The D-Tek itself is a good cooler. The question is: Is the D-Tek better with nozzles or is it as good as without. ;)
The temps in idle are not that interesting. Full load by stress tools like prime95. ;)
D-Tek without Nozzle!
1,45Vcore = 3,6 GHz Temps on load around 59-62C°
1,48Vcore = 3,7 GHz Temps on load around 65-67C°
Just installed my nozzles and had a nice temp drop of between 3-5c!
Much more than I was expecting and the tim has not had time to setin yet!
Can you guys post what nozzle you are using, since there are a bunch. :)
4.5mm for core2duo.
Well ive been using the 4.4mm, I just got a Q6600 today too (G0) and i will keep the same nozzle in.
4.4mm??? Must be making fun of me.
When I first go my nozzles I measured all them and I swore they were .2mm off each. Upon further investigation, they were the advertised sizes. I was so paranoid about it I actually took an awl and burnished the 4.5mm nozzle opening to 4.7mm (since that's what I was told is the optimum opening size)
I do wonder what will work best for the Quads, but there is no question with dual cores.
Did quad nozzle and temp is the same. :(
Im using the smallest nozzle.
CPU is 6400 @ 3400 @ v1.45
Temps before 40/42 @ prime load
Temp now 35/39 @ prime load
Fans are fn121 @ 7v
But I have dual d5s (on setting 3 and a pa120.3 and pa120.2) all for CPU :)
fyi air con is set at 21C however ambient is about 20/19C
Overkill :D
Only one PA120.2 should do the same work in cooling the CPU.
Quadnozzle and washer mounted.
Temperature dropped 2-3°C.
Flow dropped from ~425l/h to ~350l/h
If it really comes from the nozzle, it is a good thing for enthusiasts. If not, it was a better mounting of the cooler on the cpu now :D
using the washer and the nozzle are the only steps needed to get the block bowed? Any other procedure?
