So you kept the same setup and got the RMA board back and now ti works? I ask b/c my UD3R board has the same dual boot issue.
How long did they have the board for?
To Radaja, Panging & OC Nub : If you wanna know what's the DDR3 version really gat in terms of potential,
just have a look sometimes on my french thread, I'm hardly workin' on it for now ;)
http://soj.mesdiscussions.net/soj/in...jet_2430_1.htm
I think 600fsb is possible with dualie's...but the PC16000 is hard to go in the specs and I don't know if it comes because of me, the mobo or the D9s :D
I had just purchased the GB board and was testing on the table when it showed up. I tried 3 different sets of RAM, multiple bios and settings, and it would not boot in dual channel. RMA'd to newegg and had a board back in a couple of weeks round trip. This one worked out of the box.
just got my UD3P in today. ill be back in a while after i get it installed. btw its a v1.1 if that means anything
That just means its revision v1.1, which overclocks the same as v1.0, or so I heard.
I bought EP45-UD3LR and i like it so far ;)
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k2.../LoadTest1.jpg
Old test but works ;)
So any more info about that mobo ? any owners ?
got her up and running. bios is F8, gonna update it to the latest. also whats the normal operating temps for the P45? ET6 is saying 60C  for my NB. i can barely touch the heatsink for more than a second. im going to be putting a fan over it (old 80mm AMD Opty HS fan :p: ) other than that i like this board thus far!
thanks for the input.yea im not looking for easy, but i remembered when the ddr3 UD3P came out and no one could get very high FSB.but maybe the newer bio's helped?all i know is your doing some awesome clocks with yours.the EP45-Extreme looks great too and the price is decent at newegg right now.
Looked at the Extreme board also radaja, was concerned that getting the Ultra120 to fit may be a problem, also the sata ports may get in the way of larger GFX cards.
heres 4.7ghz, its down the thread i bit, some of the voltages r overkill like mch core, and main thing that helps the high fsb for me is the vtt and mch ref :D u may need for vcore tho;) wasnt that stable
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=211385
also if u look through the first 20-40 (i dont really know where it is up its there some where) of this thread i have settings for 4.6ghz that were very stable, it may also help
CPUMARK 99!!!! I thought I was the only one still using that ancient single-threaded thing, as seen on this thread -
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=193665
I only managed a pathetic 588 score .. grr.. HardtoQuad x48 mobo..

Memories are Elpida Patriot Viper 1200 MHZ and they don't want to run lower PL stable ... or is me that doesn't know what to set up in BIOS. I just wish I had some of those great D9 sticks. But I can't find any here in my country :( . I'm from Roumania

I'm done with s775 but I can't help but take peeks in here every now and then and I have to say this; this thread may just about hold the most impressive overclocks on the planet. Says a lot about the mobos the thread is dedicated to, but it also says a lot about the overclocking talent in here. Kudos, guys!! Keep up the good work.

Is the 3:5 memory ratio bugged on this board?
Nice job panging!! What are your MCH/Dram ref,Ch.A and B ref's set to, to get 500fsb? How did you set the clock skew? I needed 1000/1000/0/50 and OC1200. Unsure what long term use at these settings will do to the board, cpu or ram. Was the only way I could get it Prime/LinX stable.
How the heck do you guys get the E8400/E8500 at such high clocks around 4.5 GHZ with less than 1.4 volts?
I need a minimum of 1.432 at 4500mhz on my E0 to even think about getting mine stable. Am I doing it wrong
^^ The inside of your case is most awesome.
Here is mine. Stellar wire management.

Still room for improvement here. Quite stable though. I will post settings.

for my DDR3 board, as of now, all of Ref. voltages are set to the same values on the left colume in bios,
and yep i've been seeing you guys use 1000/1000/0/50,
but i use 800/900/0/0 for 500fsb, above 500 to 525fsb 900/900/0/0,
i did try 1000/1000/0/0 for my 530x8.5 but later on i changed back to use 900/900/0/0.
my DDR3 board and Q9550 won't boot with any setting at NB clock skew.
and however, my system is not thoroughly tested with program like IBT/LinX yet.
for my E8400's to boot above 600fsb i used to use 900/900 and CPU/NB 200ps/100ps and sometimes i had to try using Dram clock skew.
and, for anyone's information...
the DDR3 board seems to have problem booting "500FSB strap 333 5:8 DDR3-1600" if you install your ram's on the 2 pink colours slots only,
i have not seen any problem with the green colours one.
(no problem with anything above or below 500FSB, no problem with 500FSB strap 333 1:2 DDR3-2000 nor any other straps)
I need help for stable overclock my Q9550 C1 on Ep45-UD3R rev.1.1 F9.On my old EP45-DS3P i overclocked to 8.5X471 stable without any problems, but now with EP45-UD3R is impossible.I tryed many combination of settings MCH reference-0.7-0.8, Cpu Ref -0.7-0.8, Cpu Term-1.2 - 1.4, MCH core - 1.2-1.44, 2.0B,2.0D, 2.4B memory dividers, performance level -8, 9, 10, 11 & 2 different kits 2x2 gb G.skill PC-8800 & G.skill PC 8000 without succes.I think that board is very picky or is incompatible with my g.skill or have defect.

Ghostleader, how do you like your rampage extreme?i'm thinking about going ddr3 and my two choices so far are the RE and the ddr3 variant of the UD3P.i just bought
a UD3R ddr2 board but am waiting for my cpu(be here on monday)so im thinking about selling or returning the board and getting ddr3.any insight would be appreciated
Hey guys. I've had problems with this mobo since I got it. I can't get my q6600 over 3.6ghz no matter what I try. I know I can, because my loads at 3.6ghz never exceed 50C (watercooling). So now it's time for me to try again. I've searched for posts with the Q6600 and they didn't seem to help.
Here are my settings.
Multi: 9x
FSB: 400
memory: 960mhz (PC8500 ocz platinum xtc)
Vcore: 1.5
Vtt: 1.24
MCH: 1.18
Vmem: 2.1
That's all I have changed. My goal is to maybe hit 3.8ghz and memory above 1066 stable.
could someone please guide me on what settings I should change, and how I should go about changing them? On this board I don't know what most of the things do, so I'm just randomly upping voltages here.
Itīs a nice board but if we look through the bling, bling and want to OC a quad FSB 500+ and ram 2000MHz+ you have to work hard to make it happen.
Right now I run my Q9650@450 4,05GHz and some 4x1 Corsair Dominator PC14400@1800 777 21 tRD6 Strong, but I had to work a bit to make it stable so far (not stable through P95 blend yet).
It seem like Asus have problem to get quad 500+ and ram 2x2 or 4x2 stable with their boards, I have test Rampage Formula, Rampage Extreme and Maximus II Formula and they all have problem.
So if the EP45T is as good as EP45 it is a better choice in my eyes, look at pangingIII result, looking very good.
Thatīs my humble opinion. :D
Heh, well thanks :). Though, I spent most of the time trying to get the back panel case door closed, due to not having a modular PSU. You don't wanna see what that looks like .
Nice OC though. Currently running at 4.250 Ghz at 1.328v and it's pretty stable, though 3dmark vantage froze up after the CPU test, but other than that it's been stable for a week or two in every other game. Judging from the settings you use I guess I might need a notch of PLL, vMCH and some more CPU/MCH reference tweaking to get as low of a vcore as possible. I'm not using clock skews at 4.25 Ghz but I'm not sure if it needs them at 4.5ghz. Heck, I should be fine with air cooling since temps have only hit 60c with IBT
if anyone interested, this's how my bios (voltage section) is done.
i've been using this method with most of my overclocks since i use DDR2 version of the board (EP45-UD3R)
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/91/50075cmos2.jpg
i hope i didn't make any mistake on the picture.
as for my E8400's, i used to adjust MCH ref. (NB GTL_ref.) values as follow....
400-450fsb.... 0.74
467fsb up.... 0.72
480fsb up.... 0.70
500fsb up.... 0.70, 0.68
600fsb.... 0.65/0.64
hope this helps.
Hi Ghostleader, thanks.
DDR3 one is very similar to the DDR2 one, i just need to spend some time with it, and most important, seems to be, to find ram kits that can work well with the board, and if you already have a good overclocking CPU, then i would say you cant really go wrong with these boards. these boards (UD3P/R's, both DDR2 and DDR3 versions) are probably not the best boards for every needs, but so far to me, they are quite good boards. this's an opinion from just another user.
with the DDR3 board this's my Q9550 on air cool maxed out.
boot right up from bios at 535FSB...
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/9577/20090510130916.jpg
Finally after several hrs. of Pi, I was able to get under 10.09.000. I did need to raise vcore but was able to lower MCH. Also ran PCI-e freq. @101. Idk if that mattered. I tried for a long time to do lower vcore, but that was not happening.

I'm currently at 4500 9x500 with 1.39375 cpu, 1.32 cpu term, 1.57 pll, 1.34 mhc, 0.68mhc ref.
I think about 4200MHZ would be fine(600x7). Getting to 4500mhz (600x7.5) I believe it would require too much voltage increment and it's not worth the trouble.
What voltages/settings do u suggest I should try?
Well not sure if I'm going to take 600fsb for daily use ... but more for the fun of seeing what my cpu is able to do. :D
EDIT : system specs are: EP45-UD3P, E8400 E0 vid 1.25 under Scythe Mugen 2, 2GB(2x1) Patriot Viper 1200mhz (Elpyda chips :( no d9 for me),Leadtek GTX 260 896MB, Cooler Master Real Power 700W, Antec 1200
kagula323, any chance of your full BIOS template please so I can see where I might be going wrong (Mine is 3 posts up)?
I repeat that I'm now testing the DDR3 version and going forward to Leeghoofd's I4's conclusions !
Is there anything expecting there ? Ask me and I'll throw feedback pleasantly m8tes ;)
Goin' to F7 this week ...than I'll also check my CPUs under dice as soon as possible, but 600FSB is a long story I think :/ (even with the E8600 +F6 bios)
My D9s react strangely and I can't find any help anywhere :( (no other DDR3 modules anyway -_- )
Has anyone used a P4 Cpu in there mobo ?
mine only lets me push 1.4v to it like WTF ??
im on bios F9
If you gonna run dual, RE is a good choice indeed and as pangingIII wrote "most important, seems to be, to find ram kits that can work well with the board", I agree, it seem like LGA775 DDR3 board is a bit picky about what ram to choose, do some reading before buy ram.
Thanks for your opinion, I might get a EP45T and see what it can do compare to my RE.
What ram do you have that work well with your board?
thanks for the input Ghostleader,i'll research the ram carefully
right now i use crucial value 2x2GB's DDR3-1333 CAS9-9-9 D9JNM 1.5v,
2x2GB OCZ Flex EX DDR3-2000,
and 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3-2000 2.0v. but the crucial value ones are best.
i also have a few friends who also uses EP45T's and they are now using Crucial value 2x1GB DDR3-1333 CAS9-9-9 D9JNM 1.5v (actually, they bought the one that are 3x1GB kits),
these Crucial value kits are overclocking well and are working best on the boards and are so cheap.
radaja, if you decide to try the EP45T's, also try the crucial value that i use... 2x2GB's DDR3-1333 CAS9-9-9 D9JNM 1.5v they are very cheap but works best.
pangingIII u forgot about me ... I just need some starting lines for 600 FSB testing ... :(
thanks pangingIII for the great info
are these the ones?

sorry i'm thinking... what's the best suggestion to get you to 600fsb?
if you just want to boot at 600fsb you could try setting every values at the voltage section of the bios to Auto, and see if you can boot into Windows? please try this first.

Just doing a little testing on the new water setup. Im probably going to pop the Q9650 back in soon to see how it likes it since it was a hot head to begin with.

well i got 2 kits of this ram in a trade and next week i'll be getting the ddr3 variant of the UD3P,and was wondering if anyone has tried
this ram with the board?im hoping it will work,if not i'll sell them and get a different kit.i just couldnt pass up the deal for these.so if anyone has used these together maybe you could let me know how they worked.

Do you think is this board with an E8500 E0 capable to run a 24/7 system with the following specs?
FSB: 449*9.5=4264Ghz (1066*4)
RAM running at 1066Mhz 5-5-5-15 (Kingston HyperX or Crucial Balistix Tracer I have now both pair of modules)
EIST disabled
Cooled by a TRUE & a 120mm FAN into an Antec P182 case.

I expect will be my next rig in a couple of weeks :yepp:
Thanks in advance
Anyone running Kingston HyperX DDR2-1150 or DDR2-1200 2x1 GB kits? If so, I'm looking for help with BIOS settings. System specs in my sig. Thanks!!!
hi im using the Gigabyte EP45-UD3R and so far i have a q9450@3.2ghz but i really wanted to know what a safe temp is for the cpu and the northbrige
I have a thermalright ifx sli cooler for the northbrige and southbrige no fan and it hits about 55c-58c my cpu cooler is the thermalright xtreme 120mm with silenx 120mm 90cfm one is seems to cool the cpu on on low setting (fan controller)
when primeing my cpu gets to about 58c small ffts (at a max)but is that ok
i get sqweeling from my cpu when prime gets to 14kb testing but it dont change even when i up core voltage does enyone know why
thanks
its normal dont worry about it
yep very common on these boards.comes from the PWM area under load w/OCed.some people exchange thier boards only to have it do it on the new one too.
i've never noticed it on my three boards but my fans would be too loud anyways.most likely they all do it.like hoss331 said,i wouldnt worry too much about it.
I've gone back to the F5 bios for the UD3P, and S3 works properly again. I know for certain it wasn't working in F8 or F9. No change in overclocking capabilities it seems.
got my cpu today and fired up the UD3R all good!cant do much OCing as its a low vid chip and i only have the stock heatsink.i have a mini-typhoon with a 92mm/38mm 4000rpm fan mounted on it but it just will not snap down.
New run on the 9650.
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...Untitled1a.jpg
Does the UD3P drops VCore and Multiplier (to 6x) when C1E/EIST is enabled in the bios?
Yep
ok i have notest thay my q9450 @2.66ghz gives me no better results even at 3.5ghz im getting 17245 in 3d mark 06 instead of 13314 but in fallout 3 im getting 50fps no matter what i do with overclocking v-sink is disabled so i dont know why its happining
Has anyone got any ideas why this is happining or is it just me been a idiot and not doing something
thanks guys
im so gelous on the overclocks your getting wish i had the balls to push my rig that far
sorry for spelling
I had 9450@3.92 on water, vCore 1.525. UD3P can more than 3.5GHz.

@ Ghostleader ... how is the Rampage Formula with Dual Cores in overclocking?
What about E8500 FPO:Q828A339? does anyone have it? it's E0? please post u'r results ... if u have the same fpo or fpo q828 on your E8500

Anyone have UD3R on F9 BIOS running 500fsb x 8 or 8.5 with 2.4B mem latch for 2x1GB sticks? I can't get it to post....it tries twice, each with multiples beeps, then resets to default. I was running this setup (500x8 or 525x8) fine before with 2.0B or 2.0D for 1:1 ram with 2x2GB Dominators. But I since bought a Kingston HyperX DDR2-1150 2x1GB kit and want to run 2.4B for 1200mhz. Or am I better off running 450fsb with 2.66D? Any ideas or suggestions?
New BIOS:
GA-EP45-UD3P - F9l
Released 08.05.09
I just had the most amazingly simple overclock with the ep45ud3p and an e8500. I finished setting up a friends rig and only had a little time left so I bumped the voltage on his 8500 to 3.7 and bumped the fsb to a nice round number and BANG! a stable 4.08ghz right off the bat.
What a sweet motherboard.
EDIT Sorry I meant 1.37.
sorry to ask again but no one has sed if there getting more frames when thay overclock
like i sed i have a q9450@2.6 and no change in games even when i go to 3.5ghz
i have a gtx280 (no oc) but nothing gives me more frames is it just the 280 cant handle anymore frames or is is something im doing wrong
PLEASE HELP ME
thanks
ps SWEET overclocks im seeing i wish i had the mony to get better frames in my games (sli) :)
