no, but you do call corsair, asus, evga etc..if you have an issue that needs to rma.....

which is essentially what I did....though I solved my own problem, but feser never responded not even, "what did you do wrong" email...no nothing...notta....single spec not even a hello thanks for buying our most expensive radiator.....not even, "your a jerk for messing it up".....you get the idea.....
Thanks DB, ive had sleep on it and for this rad i will ditch compfittings and return to my barbs for peace of mind, i had wanted a nice tidy overall look but ive manage to botch that long before now. Those may very well have worked but i suppose i am just shell shocked from that mess last night.
Hi Kapt'n aye i did wonder was i using properly threaded fittings but unfortunately they are TFC ones, i did notice they shipped little 3/8 ID one and wondered why not 1/2"ID - i wonder if this is why?
Dunno though; i am happy to accept it was my own fault unless someone else encounters the same problem.
I would just hope to spare any other folks the grief.
When mopping it all up last night i couldnt believe my misfortune, more anger than sorrow. That would have been what i felt today had i not realised i had cover.
@ Everyone else,
I promise i will get pix of the cracks tonight, i didnt have time this morning before work, i hope my camera can show the damage well enough.
Man I just did the same thing LOL Definitely not as disastrous though, the bottom fitting on my radiator was leaking couldn't figure out why changed fitting a few times always leaking then I eventually tightened it so much that it stripped out the g1/4 socket on the rad :( (Magicool Elegant acrylic tanks). I managed to fix it though, ran up to the store and bought some gorilla glue, this stuff is awesome it works with metal and plastic, so I applied some to the threads on both the fitting and the rad let sit for 5 mins then assembled it, let dry for couple hours and filled her up, no more leaks! Probably will never get that fitting out of there but owell losing an 8 dollar fitting is better than losing a 100 dollar rad!
Hope everything works out okay for you!
That's another advantage to plastic fittings--new users, or even experienced users working a cramped space can over tighten a fitting--it happens. If the fittings plastic and something bad happens, it happens to a $3 fitting and not a $100 block or in your case a $300 radiator. For the record, just based on your articulate and well thought out post I would bet you did NOT over tighten the fittings. Sad Fesser does not stand behind their products better then this. I hope it works out for you.
Did you contact Feser yet?
try contact feser, or else you'll get the biggest paper weight.
I got an RMA from the etailer, they are picking it up shortly.
I just need to get it off the case, drained and boxed.
Im going out this evening so itll be tomorrow before i can do this, they will prolly
collect it on tuesday and since i am in Ireland and they are in England it will most likely take another few days to inspect and turn the order around.
If they dont want to help me out then ill will try Feser directly, i just thought this would be faster.
If feser had retail stores, like a GM car dealerships, then yes you would go to the feser store. Or the asus store or the EVGA store.
So your example does not apply, because its not the same business model.
In the world of computers RMA is part of the territory my friend, it is only a matter of time before defective parts arrive at your doorstep...I wonder if you'll sing the same tune when you pay for something that doesnt work, and then you have to wait weeks before getting a replacement, plus pay the shipping, yada yada yada
Feser should RMA, and furthermore could offer a list of compatible/recommended components and some best practices, like torque specs for thier 300 dollar radiator, it would ease headaches and help with the marketing image.
You guys fesser makes nice stuff.. i dont see why u guys are bashing fesser so much.
The only problem with fesser is the price. But some people who can get over that obstacle, fesser is a great brand.
The numbers on ther radiators speak for themselves. I even own 2 fesser rads, so no sensless bashing, the OP is very stressed most likely cuz a 270 dollar radiator came defective.
But he just got unlucky, and needs someone to take care of him.
You brought this from scan.co.uk? yes as they have the insurance, scan are really good with RMA's. IF they don't sort it out, it's they job to do it. They operate the RMA and go though TFC.
TFC do, do RMA as the warttey you got on card should say what to do?, and a admin here, had a faulty Triple, if you look though this section posted this week, and has all been sorted. TFC service is a bit Crud in the UK, manly as no one wants to work with the company.
But now Aqua Tuning in coming to the UK run by Pascal, From Aqua Pc's, but thats a different story.
Hope it all gets sorted for you :).
=[
That's horrible. I'd be livered if that happened to me.
Keep in mind we're not all in the same country and speak English. If I owned a small company and only had a handful of English speaking people, I sure as heck wouldn't want to be answering RMA calls from folks that spoke other languages. Trying to understand angry customers who speak a language you may only partially understand (and likely would misunderstand a good portion of the time) would be setting yourself up for real failure.
I believe that may be part of why smaller companies often work "Through" the retailer, particularly when their products sell internationally. The reatailers are the ones who are setup to handle those sorts of issues in these niche markets, and they are also the ones who should be the first line if there are issues like shipping damage that would enter the same channel. How would you separate RMA "Manufacturing defect type" issues from shipping damage issues, etc. The manufacturer may have sent the rads in perfect condition to the retailer, but there could have been damage between the retailer and the buyer. It may have even been poor packaging on the retailers end, or miss packaging. So I think it's rather tricky to separate correctly and why there is that general "retailer is the first contact" protocol.
FWIW, I've had no problems with my TFC480 and I've tried and used all sorts of barbs including TFC compression fittings and multiple test platforms and a couple of rebuilds now. I'm currently using XSPC standard barbs on my TFC480 and I've used a wrench to crank those on, no problem.
Anyhow, I couldn't say enough good about the QC on my TFC 480, both my TFC480 and my HWlabs 480GTX were my highest quality radiators I've owned to date. They both came in perfect condition and I've had no issues with either of them.
Can't say I like compression fittings though, I don't like any of them. I've had leaks myself and darn near started a fire because of compression fittings. I'll stick with standard barbs and clamps...they work better for me.
Yes, but not always RMA provided by vendor directly to customers. I have worked for HighTech companies for 15 yeas in distribution and believe me for certain companies and on certain markets everything goes trough channel network. If you sign as reseller of Feser, part of agreement is providing RMA to end users.
+1 on Martin's comment.
it doesn't matter who the RMA goes through, feser or the retailer. they still need to answer their emails and phone calls.
EK answered my emails, and even shipped me a spare part i needed (for a price)
Swiftech answered my emails and even shipped me 2 spare parts i needed (for free)
RMA, i dont care who its through, as long as me (the end customer) gets my working product fast. if feser doesn't want to have any RMA's through them, they better have a good system set up w/ the retailers to make up. they should AT LEAST respond to their emails for those asking about the RMA process and direct them to someone who can help them
I dont think I buy the language issue, I've been to germany... and every single person I encountered spoke english perfectly fine...
but hey, scan is taking care of you and I bet that will turn out fine ;)
hey i agree feser makes great stuff I have two of their quads and they are awesome and I bought a monsta myself, but after no respones to my emails..well I find that aweful cusomter service like i said I found out my own problem with the help of some folks on the board price was not important to me since I have two quads and their monsta.....from them and have always liked their rads over others.
This thread is worthless without pics.
:) Had to say it, buddy. :) Hope everything works out with the reseller.
Yes sorry ive been flat out last few days. See below.
Here you can see the damage, i hasten to point out that i would not have tightened the fittings to cause this if i had known they were aprox 2mm too thick. It was on the second attempt with the comp fittings when i used the pliers thinking they were not on securely enough having checked the hoses already.
So here you can see circled where the paint has split at the base of the thread housing/collar where the liquid was seeping out, however the liquid must have been coming out from under the the thread of the comp fittings (seal must not have been making contact with thread housing)prior to me over tightening them on the second attempt - trying to fix one issue created the other i think, you can also see where the base of the fittings had levered against the slanted end of the rad.
Enjoy! :D

Hmm, I just ordered a monsta and some Bitspower 1/2 id 3/4 od compression fittings for it. Do I need some spacers or anything to avoid this happening?
