Well I just completed my install of windows and for some strange reason I am getting corrupt downloads. Occasionally, my downloads will be fine but most of the time the are corrupt. I have been able to update using windows update but I can't install IE7 or Malicious Software Remover. I am running XP Pro SP2. I used all the updated drivers, etc. Thanks.

Just bought one of these boards. Seems like its one of the first really solid abit boards in a while. Been pretty sceptical about Abit since my Nforce 3 AGP piece of $%*! from them.

I have three abit IP-35 Pro boards and have tried 27 different memory modules in 4GB configurations with the same results. Anything over DDR2-1000 is a crap shoot for 24/7 operation, there are a few gates (DDR2-1020, DDR2-1063) that seem to work just fine with additional voltage but otherwise this board is picky when it comes to 4x1GB operation when overclocking, especially with the 1333FSB CPUs. This includes four different modules from Crucial. I will not even go into the 2x2GB or 4x2GB issues since a lot boards are still behind the curve. ;) Either I am very unlucky or the test applications I am running just hate 4x1GB on this board. :DQuote:

I tried to fire up my IP35 pro today but I cant get it post:( ... Everything is running but nothing shows up in the screen and the debug led shows either 8.3 or 9.0... Ive swapped rams, vidcard and cpu but it still wont post, also took out the battery for a couple of hours but still dead... Is this a symptom of corrupt bios?

Its out already.... I got it to run just now and change some stuff in the bios ( no oc ), it hanged after the reboot and wont fire up again.... debug led shows 00 and pressing power doesnt do anything now.... I think its screwed cos just before that it was hanging everywhere according to led...
I push this board pretty hard but its my bench mobo so its not on most of the time....

I just left the ICH voltages up even though I don't think I need it for DDR1100 as I would rather know I have some stability headroom rather than running on the edge.

Actually it still does it. I can't install a free Age of Empires 2 demo to see if my downloads are still corrupt. I also try to install VLC media player and can't. I am not overclocking and have everything at stock voltages. I have also put the memory in different slots and still get the problem. I also ran memtest and got 0 errors. Could it be the board?

set your memory to 2.1...you shouldn't need that much at stock speeds...2.2 is probably the max recommended...i would boost your ICH 1.05v to 1.12v and your ICHIO 1.5v to 1.60v to see if that helps...might need more umph through the chipsets to work with those drives...i had to do that with a pair of maxtor drives on my P5B Dlx.Quote:

Memset is only showing 2GB installed in your board at those settings. Is that an error? ;) Crucial sent me new modules today and they still (4x1GB Ballistic Tracers) are not stable over DDR2-1063 (Vista64), no issue doing about 1260 in a 2x1GB configuration. I will try an Allendale next but so far E6600, E6750, E6850, Q6600, QX6700, and QX6850 are not working well with 4GB on this board when overclocked.Quote:

I hate having to set 1.57 in BIOS, for 1.49vCore Real, which droops to 1.45 under load. :(.
How did you get CPU-Z to show you the command rate? I set 1T in the BIOS but CPU-Z never tells me if it's set to 1T.Quote:

just got my IP35 Pro...fired it up and got the 8.7. on bios readout...I tried 16 different types of ram 4 PSU's and 7 different cpu's...nothing...had to get an RMA for replacement from the egg...if the new board does the same...bye bye abit for good! over the years I have NEVER had what I would call a good experience with abit...dont know why but never have...and if this is a taste of whats to come it is gone....

Look back thru and follow what ace a rue did to his, it will help out alot, put a fan over it also if necessary.
Just taken the 40mm fan of my PWM heatsink and wedged in an 80mm fan over that area instead. Temps have dropped by 10c. Not sure if that's just because of more power or that cooling areas just around the PWMs makes a significant difference.Quote:

As Goone pointed out though, read back over previous posts. Removing the heatpipe, cleaning off the gunk and applying decent paste helps. You can also follow Ace'a'rues tip and remove the white plastic clips, and replace the heatpipe with nuts and bolts instead.

I started using one piece of memory in all slots. It only boots in slot 1 and 3 and gets C1 error in 2 and 4 even after a cmos clear. I have a feeling my motherboard is defective. My downloads rarely work and it sucks. I am just tired. I have been working on this for 4 days just trying to get it to work but I guess I will have to give up.

Yeah I was using the beta 12 and switched back to official 11. I put one in ram slot 4 and cleared CMOS with switch and jumper. Using 2.1v. Also I can't use 2 and 4 together. Only 1, 2, and 3 work. I have to mid-level ip35. My maximum fsb is somewhere between 465 to 485 no matter what multi is used. I can not boot it at all over 499 fsb. Either chip or the board, I don't know. The chip can do 4100mhz though. The board is fine except for that and the CMOS Jumper is in a inconvenient place and sometimes hard to reach. Double boot happens almost every time. One of my sata slots fell off exposing the pins on it. That part is not the best quality, it went back on and works but can be easily pulled off again. There is also no Uguru. If those things don't bother your then everything else is ok.

I'm using an eSATA enclosure for backups and it seems that the drive doesn't appear in the 'Safely Remove Hardware' option in the systray. I know it's not USB, but in older systems I've seen it where you can add/remove SATA devices this way (namely the nForce-based systems).
Does anyone think that by just turning off the enclosure that it will screw up the drive/data at all? The only other thing I can think of would be dismounting it via command prompt, but it still shows up under 'My Computer' that way.
Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?
