Hi guys,

I'm trying to step away from my old 975x board (D975XBX2 Badaxe2) and upgrade to one of the latest chipsets. It looks like P45 is my safest bet because I want the ICH10 and don't want to pay out the ear - would you guys say that the Gigabyte UD3 series is a serious contender for the P45 belt (aside from the Asus Extreme boards) ?

I'm not really sold on the board design, I hate the color scheme and wish it was more uniform. Also I'm kind of bummed they didn't provide 90* SATA ports but I guess I can't have it all. However from all the research I've done, it looks like this is a pretty stable board for a damn good price if I step up to a P45 - do any of you have any input or can suggest any alternatives that I should consider? I was looking at the DFI P45 series motherboards as well because I really like their board designs; stability is my absolute number one concern though.

I am not 100% certain but I think that after you set the "Driving Strength Profile" to 1066 this will now show the timings in your bios. I noticed the same thing when I first started with this board and after I began enabling some things with my ram CPUZ began reporting the correct timings.

firas, try and set extreme memory performance to disable,it should help.my g.skills do the same if its on auto,but be careful when you change it to disable it will reset the cpu multiplier and fsb.i always start my OC by disabling this first then set up the OC.

Change it to manual and set your timings manually. My GSkill 8800s got picked up as 5-7-7-20, they are actually 5-5-5-15 so I've manually changed them and havent had an issue.

Under the profile, if I set disable I see 5-7-7-20, my next option is "profile2" is I set that then it shows up correctly as 5-5-5-15@1066.

If you benchmark under disabled and then under enabled and compare that to your results on auto you should be able to detect what the auto setting is doing.

I usually set the drive strength profile to the level that covers my memory overclock. If I am trying to run 1100mhz ram then I set to the 1200OC level. I am not exactly sure what it does and I have not got the anwser from anyone yet about it.

Got my new P45 UD3P after fighting with a busted open box P5Q-E from the 'Egg, so far so good. Updated to F8F beta bios and bumped a few things... Ram is at 1105Mhz (GSkill 8800). NB volts are 1.16v ;)

This board dont run sli does it ? thought it ran crossfire, i saw system vipers pc mark scores, and is running 2 nvidia 295s:shrug:

anybody know how to check RMA status with gigabyte? i had to send my board in to repair and i cant seem to figure out how to check the status.a phone # or some online site would help out.

I have heard that it will do a stable overclock pretty good. I would like to see the voltages that it uses.

Very nice, however I've personally found the F4 and F4Pi BIOS the best for 45nm quads :up: Might want to give them a spin.

jor3lBR,this new dfi UT-P35-T2R is a great board for duallies and its holding me over nicely but GOD YES i miss the hell out of my UD3P.im selling my E8500 so i just installed my 9650 in the dfi and it is quite hard to get it going so far 450x9 is as far as ive gotten.I JUST WANT MY UD3P BACK NOW.ps,thanks for the link

That site wont update and they wont send you an email letting you know they received it or when they ship it back

But if you call them they have the status on it and will give you a tracking number if/when it has been shipped.

It came with F6 but so far F8F has been better to me. If I run into issues I'll try F4. What were you able to do with F4 that was giving you problems with the newer bioses? Higher Fsbs? Stability?

DFI needs the GTL shown as % rather than those numerical values, and CPU/NB clock skew, if it had those options your 9650 would be no match for it :rofl:

Im planning on getting this mobo, would this increase the max OC on my Q6600 ?

Currently i can do 3.2Ghz (400*8 ) with 1.335v bios or 3.4Ghz (425*8) at 1.415v bios, 3.6is bootable and semi-stable at 1.5xx vbios
