Iīm rock solid stable with 450 4050 1200 555 15 tRD7 Turbo, so it can run 1200 CAS5.
What is going on, I have seen other peoble run 2x1 and 4x1 with D9GKX at this speed without problem.
Isīt my E8400 C0 that the board donīt like?
Upgrade BIOS?
Have I missed something?

I'm now running my Q9550 @ 4 Ghz (471 x 8,5) without any issue .. I'm really impressed by this board...
Beside the fact that the S3 resume isn't well handled yet :-/
I was looking for a way to powerup my PC just by hitting a key or mooving the mouse like I did before with my ASUS P5W DH.
Any trick to start the PC without pushing the power on button on the EP45-UD3P ?
@Ghostleader Do you try strap 400 yet? I cannot boot up 333 strap with high FSB And I always use High Fsb :)

try the above voltage setting in your BIOS, i just booted with this setting and run a few quick system tests as you see in the pic.
to see if you can get a stable system with the voltage setting, if so, and with 2x1GB RAM, you can try lower MCH core and CPU termination voltages,
and then retest your overclock again, i would say MCH core 1.30-1.36v, CPU termination 1.20-1.30v, also try MCH ref. value 0.68v and maybe 0.72v (of VTT 1.20v),
for memory timings, you may want to first try setting Auto, and if you set Turbo, the board's bios will enter SPD's (usually, it will be using timing of the module when running at DDR2-800) timings and this should work ok with a good overclocking ram kit like yours.

note-- in order to use the ET6's voltage setting value in your BIOS, for example, if you want to try my voltage setting (above),
the easy way is to first set VTT to 1.20v, Vdimm 1.80v,
and then set the other voltage and ref. settings using the value shown in the ET6 and go back to VTT and Vdimm and change the 2 values last.

Do you think you can get 500x9 stable with 24/7 type voltages?
I'm having some problems which I think are related to the SB. I have 5 hard drives and am using a Q9550 with a 3.9GHz overclock (460MHz FSB).
The first symptoms where Explorer.exe freezing up. I could end task it and be fine. I assumed it was something quirky with my hard drives not coming out of power saving mode fast enough or something, so I disabled the power save option for the hard drives.
Then I had my display drivers in Vista crash a handful of times. So I backed my overclock down to 3.8GHz (450MHz FSB). After the most recent display driver crash I realized that all these crashes seemed to have occurred with I was doing some hard drive intensive.
With the 3.8GHz overclock, I was copying a large number of files between four of my hard drives. And I started getting some corrupt folder hard drives. Even though the folders do not appear to be corrupt.
I didn't have these issues with my Abit IP35 Pro board with 5 hard drives and the same overclock... But I'm hoping this is fixable with more voltage somewhere. I'm assuming I need more voltage on the SB?

Nb getting too hot, ya waterblocks will help you with that one, my board tops at 1.5Nb (I redid the mounting and used arctic ceramique instead of that silly pad gigabyte put there...) heatsink got way hotter now (meaning better heat transfer) Secondly I removed the blue gigabyte logo (it's fixed with adhesive tape so air (antec spotcool aimed at the NB) can move between the heatsink fins...Quote:

Are you sure ya ram can do 1200mhz . And at what volts ? Have you tried another divider ?
Also you adjusted the reference volts, I only do that as final tweak
What does fail ? Small FFT ? Blend ? Can't you enter windows, doesn't it post ?

Try a divider that puts the ram in sync (so 1000mhz ram speed) , enable LLC and see then... i'm coming from Asus and too having a hard time discovering all the option in this bios ( other names, react differently,...) but 500FSB should be a breeze... im struggling to get 600 benchstable on the DDR3 platform

But I would start from zero so a plain default setting and slowly up the FSB to eg 400FSB... then test how your board reacts to lowering FSB term voltage,etc... see how low you can go... FSB term 1.26 MCH 1.3 and co should be okay for up to 500FSB... CPU PLL works here at 1.4 set in bios...
It's nice to post templates but if you are not aware why it would work with setting 2 and not with your seting will not get you anywhere. Learn the board, learn how she responds...
@ezaleina I see MCH Reference in your setting still be 0.76 ...may this is your problem. try to reduce it to around 0.70- 0.68 may help alot

hello guys i've been reading a lot here and i need some help, i know its christmas eve but a helping hand whenever you are able to will be mostly apreciated. Im trying to run 360x9, i cant get it to window with 1.44 vcore under load, I have all settings to default manually set...except MCH which is at 1.36v. I would like to know when do i need to increase MCH reference or all the reference voltages by that mean. I can run some PI 1mb calculations in about 13 secs.. i just cant run prime small's for more than a few. secs
sorry for the double post.. just some info here i can run 2.9 with only bumping the vcore to 1.42 (w/o LLC 1.36 under load) and leaving everything else on auto... running my ram 1:1 which at that FSB it runs it at 667 or so. I also tried to run a bit higher FSB and increasing vcore and MCH but no luck, still cant run prime small. Im guessing it has to be another setting besides the MCH or the vcore. thanks a million for any input you could type in.

I've been planning to run this chip at 500x9. I'm using the 333 latch and 2.40B divider.
It took a couple of days adjusting and tweaking MCH/VTT and GTL refs to get the voltages down and everthing stable for a nice 24/7 type setting.
Testing with Prime custom FFT 1024K to 4096K. Using 4 sticks HyperX PC2-9200. Cooling is with a TRUE and one Sanyo-Denki. Loadline is enabled.
Yes before I installed the OS I noticed that I was copying the templates from you guys and every single template I used was giving a blank boot screen. Tried everything, diferent ram slot, ram, vid card, voltages, straps nada...Quote:

The board has stock cooling for everything but the cpu, like I said I got it from Newegg and just placed it on a test bench. I have a bad Cryo-Z mount on the CPU. I'm waiting the waterblocks from Mips, otherwise there is no way I can tight the Cryo down on he CPU.Quote:

Yeah it is crazy I love this board I don't have a clue for my stable settings yet but my 556x9 (5004Mhz) was pretty comfortable on 1.44-1.48vcore.
All that on a old OCZ PS 520w PSU. :yepp:
So I think I can et more out of it and start aiming for a reasonable 24/7 setting.

Guys, i have a weird issue i could run a stable 333 fsb with 1.24 MCH using a multi of 6 but when i try to raise the multi to 9 i can boot to windows but i cant run a stable prime small fft's for more than a few secs. Do you think its my cpu?

probally your ram is not stable, have you run memtest on your ram ?
if you have the SuperPi icon as a shortcut somewhere in your desktop or quick launch bar you may want to put it back in the folder it originally was and try running it again. You should run prime small fft to see if you're somewhat stable. It would tell you if you have a ram problem very quickly.
I have the ep45t-ud3p, not as sweet as this board. What is the fsb max on this board ? anybody done 600+.

You need to run Hyperpi under Vista ( you can disable the sound which is one of the main causes for superpi to crash under Vista )

I just found this thread, man that ud3p is popular, and sweet board, i see 650fsb, wowwwwww, im trying for 600fsb, but i want to keep same divider, if i change dividers i can probally do it easy. I dont know what to do with this board, im probally going to get rid of it and get a asus p5e3 preminum, not sure, its not the fsb that makes me want to dump it, its the bench scores, there horriable, well below normal, and the 266, 200 straps dont work at all, how long would i have to wait for gigabyte to fix this ? who knows, maybe never.
thats probally true,gigabyte has lot of boards in the p45 series.and that particular model doesnt have alot of early adopters,so it doesnt get the bios attention the ddr2 boards do.

Is it more important to have a higher RAM speed or tighter timings? Right now I'm running 4.1GHz @ 8GB 4-4-4-12 on a E8400 (455x9, 1:1). I've seen people get faster times on HyperPi 32M with slightly lower clocks though. Just FYI, I'm using XP Pro 64-bit. For whatever reason, Vista 32-bit actually felt faster.
From my tests I get better bandwidth at higher speeds.
I don't have a how to answer but I can tell you in my efforts to get my Q9650 prime stable at 4450mhz (which I am still failing at btw) I played with most of the reference & voltage settings & found a strange thing.Quote:

Right now I'm Priming on 500x8.5 = 4.25GHz at 1:1 5-7-7-19. It gave me about a 30 sec - 1 min greater/worse HyperPi 32M score than 455x9 = 4.1GHz did at 4-4-4-12. Any suggestions? Well 500MHz (1000MHz) @ 5-7-7-19 is very loose. U should be able to run 5-5-5-15. Maybe a reason y its failing is because ur MCH volts are too low, what are u running it at? I found that when added my extra 2 sticks I needed quite a bit more MCH volts to run it stable. Therefore with 8GB...Quote:

If you boot to windows at 2.4 vdimm and 1.24 refenences and check the settings with the ET6, they will all be .9V, just as if the reference volts were set to "auto." Tweaking is done by adjusting the reference volts lower than the default 50% vdimm levels.Quote:

So with CPU Term 1,28, MCH core 1,22 and MCH ref 63,5% I was running 500 1200 555 15 tRD8 Turbo Stable.
