    GTX285 + EK Water Blocks x 3

Thought some of you might be interested to see the EK water blocks in action:

The GPUs got up to 53-54 degrees C during Vantage. I pushed them to 60+ degrees in Furmark, but so far I seem to have good performance, differing only by a degree or so for the three separate blocks. Idle temp is 38-39 degrees C @ 23 degrees ambient.

The 3 EK Waterblocks are on their own loop with the MCP355 and a PA120.3 with 3/8"IDx5/8"OD tubing.

how come the new gtx 285 are back using the 6 pin instead of a 6pin and a 8 pin? is it due to the nano meter change?

Here's info posted at the EVGA forums by Talonman:
The 280 requires (1) 6 pin, and (1) 8 pin power connector, and the 285 needs (2) 6 pin. The 280's maximum power draw is listed at 236W, and the 285 is listed at 183W.

Agree with you, Eddie3dfx. The quality of these EK blocks is great.

Fantastic photos Shazza. I hope you didn't go Tri-Sli due to peer pressure. It truly looks amazing and with great performance to boot.

Most people prefer the Acetal for it's durability. Some people have had bad experiences with Acrylic cracking. I've only had one block with acrylic myself and it was never a problem so my experiences have been good, but I must say that I've been somewhat put-off by Acrylic since reading about so many bad experiences so I went with Acetal for my latest block.

You shamed me into it, BA

Re acrylic vs acetal. I chose acrylic just in case I get the urge to throw some color in there. Would normally pick the acetal version.

    Here's the Vantage Extreme run:

Bloody hell with the cpu at 4ghz, you get 10k more points then my Phenom II and X2 at stock

Once I get my new ram I'll have to start clocking

I really don't even know what a good Vantage Extreme score is - just started using Vantage for benchmarking/testing, as 3DMark06 doesn't do much for the i7 setup.

I like the Koolance blocks too. Make sure you show us a pic once it's all hooked up (after you find those missing couple of 285s )

Thanks Shazza! I decided to get the 285's and the EK blocks myself. I just couldn't resist and I purchased the clear tops this time. However, I did not fall victim to the tri-sli bug.
