Wow, is that a record!? How much you wanna sell that chip for?:D
Amaizing!
what mobo? awesome temps btw. what us temp under load like pi?
Crazy, Bad Crazy!!
I just ran a 1M super pi on my rig and it finished in a whopping 46seconds.:( :(
Very fast Christos  I will use your combination ;)
nice
very impressive
wow teaser was the right headline...lets see the set up behind this monster
unseen have you got a shot of the unit
and the specs
your work has always inspaired me to do better
Baz, what does teaser mean :P He will give you those shots in time, after he's made you work for them
Hehe thanks guys for the kind words :)
Well i havent make a cascade for long time. A really good friend who is a really gooddd overclocker asked me if i can make one for him. I said ok but you have to wait! I started collecting the parts in the middle of june. Lets take a look at them:
A really big condeser, a huge fan, alco safety device ,two gauges for high pressure, plate hx in a shoebox with foam , flex hose ~1m

The compressors i choose are for first stage 18000btu and for second 12000btu. Gases R507 for the first and R1150 for the second.

Thanks mike for the support!
A big galvanized plate

Also a small condeser as desuperheater and an auto oilseparator.
And i started soldering the stuff.

My small secret in this cascade is that after many many many many attemps to find the best capillary for 1st stage i finally found it!(I also tried cpev, tev) I used not one but TWO capillaries in parallel. 1,8m x2 0,78 type. I used that cause 1.2 capillary type or 1.5 neither worked ok and with smaller type i had very high pressures. The result is that now i have a very strong first stage and we all know how much important is this. Idle -62c and load -57c to the exit of the hx. High pressure is at load ~14bar at ~25c ambient.

Ethylene came after 20 days of waiting :)
http://xs219.xs.to/xs219/07366/HPIM3365.jpg
And i reached -113 :) with 3,55cm of 0,91 capillary type in second stage.
http://xs219.xs.to/xs219/07366/HPIM3375.jpg
I hooked it to my 6850es,p5k-e

Very good contact. Take a look where i put the thermal probe. It is the yellow cable.

and here at little load

Now i fed my processor with 1,87 and i ran some test at ~5250
here at spi 32m

and here at wprime 1024m which uses both cores.

I am waiting the top of the case to finish it. I will update when it is ready.
The color will be a very nice red. It is called "Rocky red" and it is paint for expensive cars. Also i have to insulate many pipes and tune the cascade for quad cores.
Thanks for looking-reading and sorry for my really bad english.
Christos
Really nice, what about first stage temps idle/load?
Regards
Nice but erm
As in 0.78 inches? Thats like 2cm, they don't look that. Is it 0.078? So almost 2mm? If so, wow thats some big capillary. Ever thought of experimenting with 3 or maybe even 4 capillaries?Quote:
TWO capillaries in parallel. 1,8m x2 0,78 type
0,78mm is 0.031 inch
That is some Crazy :banana::banana::banana::banana:.
SUBSCRIBING TO SHOW THIS TO ALL WHO I KNOW
you are crazy!!!! my air-conditioner is 11000btu!!!!
but....
very very very nice work!!!
i love that condencer its perfect
1.87v it has alot of power to take that your friend must be very happy
Nice and clean looking unit and great performance
I hope u took into account the amount of power this system will draw and if a standard household circuit can handle this power draw and also that theres usually 2 to 4 wall plugs on a single breaker so anything else thats drawing power from that breaker is gonna add to the total amount the circuit can handle! :stick: :stick:
Clean job :)
But lets see that quad perfomance
Very Very nice Christos!
N I C E !
Great stuff man, and a sweet OC! Not bad at all.
And if you don't mind me asking what did it cost you to build?
Would love to see you take that chip to 6Ghz tho!
I have a big workshop in my backyard because me and my dad are allways making sumthing or another, but I really want to build a mother cascade maybe 3 stage, the workshop has full seperate power tho so np there ;)
I am looking at a 60,000BTU scroll compressor atm, its for my dream machine I am thinking of going all scroll, 60,000 first, 54,000 second and 48,000 third.
What ya think?
It's just crazy around here.....
XS is a nutty forum full of completely insane lunatics.
I'm going to go back to my Air-Cooled Commodore 64 and see if I have enough room left on the tape drive to store the images of those screenshots.
That's friggin' amazing. Thumbs up.
where was the CPU temp screenshot in speedfan during the wprime runs ;) :D
great cooler man
if kayl cascade could get that cold (20C cooler) i would be benching my E6700 at 5.4GHz 32M :D
Fair go Dino. You had an exceptionally bad mount on that cascade run.
That cascade looks great Unseen and I wish I had an E6850 ES as good as that - mine tops out at 490FSB :shakes:
Thanks guys :)
I gave to cpu up to 1,928vcore and vpll 2,44 for max pi.
@dinos i havent open speedfan during the wprime cause i was benching! When i fire it up again i'll upload a screenshot.
@soddem i'll test! The cascade produces a lot of noise and i have problem with neighbours.. :( so i cant run for long time...
man you are crazy!!! Very nice work.
Albeit this is a technicality it should be mentioned, when rating a system it is oft don only by the final stages as that is the most pertinant info.
 :slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :eek2: WOW nice work!
very nice work christos.

Well done, Unseen! Nice Work.

Kai ego Elinas eimai.
Holy cow, now that is a pure display of force. When your neighbors complain about the noise of your cascade you know you've reached a new level of overkill
Nice work Unseen i like condesor +fan used looks neat..
so much work to create one of these but i imagine you are enjoying doing it  benchies look good also...
Dinos i think Kayls cascade does -90c under load couldnt ask for more than that..
damn baby, that's sexy :D
Finished! The paint job will be done by the customer.

http://xs220.xs.to/xs220/07405/HPIM3405.jpg
Compared to vapochill
Size does matters!!
http://xs320.xs.to/xs320/07405/HPIM3407.jpg
Very nice cascade Unseen, lol @ neighbors + elevator
verry nice man
hoe do you get speedfan to report temps like that mine stays @ -3 when it goes lower??
Awesome job! Doesnt seem like a whole lot of insulation..
I was looking at it thinking, "Oh, its not that big..." until I saw the Vapo on top.
Huge!
Yes this picture is a clasic. Soo nice!!! :D
Very impressive and huge! The intake looks a tad restrictive tho.
a girl I knew once told me: is not the wands size what really matters, it is the way thge magician moves it.. :P
really nice unit dude :) . btw, are you descendant of any spartan?? you could be one of the 300 spartans.. maybe dilios.. as you know who is leonidas :p
now that what i call a freaking monster  awesome job.
After a long gas tunning, finally is finished.
Q6600@4800@1,9vcore(1,864real)@wprime1024 all cores enable the evap stays at -93 and the first stage -47.
This calculator http://www.extreme.outervision.com/tools.jsp#cpuoc give results for my cpu over 450watts at load. I think it is working ok :)
very nice work unseen, thats a nice Q6600 ya got there hey
what mother board were you using to get such high FSB with a quad??
thanks kayl.
Asus Blitz Formula
*Cough* Sound proofing! *cough*
Seriously, I can't imagine getting a monster of a unit like that without taking at least some sound reduction steps. I mean it would cost what, a $100-200 extra? Probably chump change in comparison to the value of such a nice powerful unit like that!
