I have to admit I never went over 1.5NB voltage to test, I tried a quick boot with 1.7Nb voltage but whenever I set a lower PL value it doesn't post or is very unstable in Windows... Think P45 is a bit crippled here over P35/X38/X48
but makes up for it with heavy and easy FSB clocks...
PL is performance level : it's ram related, I'm no technical geek but it increases overal bandwith and lowers latency... overal with this board if you can run a divider (so not 1:1) do it... you are rewarded with a lower PL which brings more performance... I've summed up my findings in the above post with early tests on which PL level to expect... I don't run weird FSB ranges I only do 400 - 450 and 500 :)Quote:

For 4GB, 1200MHz is very hard to reach.
600FSB/1200 ram is pretty hard to stabilize for a long time... I can do some Superpi runs 1-2-4MB, but all the others fail on me... running GSkill PC8000Hz here for benching... requiring 2.35 volts for 1200mhz 5-5-5-15 2TQuote:

Thanks for the info. I'd never heard of Transcend RAM. I see they have a 1200 set but it looks like it's discontinued. If I somehow got my hands on the sticks, would 4x1 still be tough even though the RAM is rated for those speeds?

I found that 0704 messes with the time in the BIOS on every bad overclock and pretty much clears the CMOS. And there seems to be a lot more 'bad' overclocks on 0704 than there is on 0702.
I don't think 0704 is ready for public use.

Back to 0702, after a forced bios restore :(
0704 is working fine for me , the only times I had to switch off the psu and then restart to post again was with very botched bios settings . I was also finally able to get past 453 fsb using 0704 bios with 475 prime stable with 4x1gb@951mhz , I'll be tweaking the ram more later but for now I'm too busy playing games without crashing constantly as was the norm with nvidia boards .
I think not, but ... is has been a problem downgrade to 0702?

I don't understand the situation of performance level, I don't know how the situation is with the other Intel chipset but why you can have better PL (also 2/3 level PL!) with higher memory frequency? It seems strange that with 1:1 divider and most conservatives FSB and ram frequency you can't have almost the same PL of a most tighter setting.

Each mobo/chipset type will have it strong dividers... and give better performance... I tested the dividers at 400-450-500 and 600FSB... 1:1 is pretty poor as it requires a high PL (usually 10 and above) so you need good high speed ram to get the most out of it...Quote:

Those PQ ones run fine here Colt but if you can spare the cash the 8500 modules have an 8 layer PCB... yet I can run the 8000 at 8500 speeds too... though 1081Mhz (2.1 volts) on the P35 killed one of them... RMA ones still work fine at 1066Mhz 2.0volts even...Quote:

I ran into trouble at 590FSB... upped Ram voltage to 2.35 (max I want to give my Gskills as they worked fab at 1200mhz at 2.3v on the P35)... went a bit further, dropped PL to 15 almost completeds it's run ( see screenie ) so it could be my ram that needs some more juice ( will try later with a fan over them )... Then I tried to mess with Read Trainer and OC Charger and set them to have more clocking headroom... seemed to have inversed effect as it crashed now at ineration 8...
Will let things cool down and try again to see if I can make 590 complete ( will mess too with the Skews...and TRFC)
