Hmm, it obviously didn't like K10 on AM2 board, reads normal temps for half a sec, then it reads a 9 digit number..
Yes it was a bug, I fixed it.
New version will be out soon
Its due the addition of G15 support and it's Low\High report.
So Core Temp output an address to a variable instead of the variable value (temperature) itself :p:

Ok thanks, I'll at it when I get home
For some reason with Asus P5E3 Premium + E8500 one core sits at 40ºC idle or load doesnt matter, do you have any idea why this can be?
Although this is an AMD section it may be a case of sticky sensors.
What does your other core run at?
DTS on some CPUs is really messed up, look here:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...103638&page=12 (starting with posts after 31st December)
Check this thread in the news section for more info on the new features and a nice little gadget for Vista users.

Here's a pic:

How come for example S&M gives way more accurate temperature readings for me? What I hate the most with CoreTemp is that the temperatures can vary +/-1 in one second. Once it is 60/60, then it is 57/62, then it is 63/59 and so on. How am I supposed to know the temperature? The Coolest, can you honestly call that accurate? What about reading the temp for example 3 times a second, then take average of them and sum it up by the last seconds average and divide by 2? As far as I know, S&M uses similar method, which is far superior to what CoreTemp can offfer.
Just thought I would post that Core Temp is not diplaying the processor name of my Opteron 1210HE. It just says unknown Model F3 stepping or something like that.
The temperature inside the core can and does change very rapidly, so yes, it is possible that one second its a bit lower and the next a bit higher.
It is also possible that it's just the sensors margin of error.
Thanks for letting me know, can you please create a register dump file (in the options menu) and just upload it into

tags here?
@ The Coolest Thanks a bunch for this app! I like it alot. Will be testing it out on the phenom momentarily
Not really related to CT, but for example CT shows that my CPU temp gets from 80'ish to 50'ish in 2 seconds, which can not happen really. Where does the heat go? At least not to HSF as it is near 70'ish still after 2 seconds. Neither does the CPU PCB cool the core.
Actually, core temperature is quite much the same as the HSF base temperature, except the "loss" which happens due to bad heat conductivity between core and HSF base. But as I said, this doesn't really have anything to do with CT.
CT might be accurate when reading the sensors, but doesn't really help when the sensors are so damn inaccurate.

MircCoreTemp plug-in - 17th May, 2008
You need SystemInfo script and latest Beta Core Temp
This is currently in a very early development. I've been working on this for the last couple of days.
If anyone ever saw PerfMonitor by Franck (CPU-z), then the idea came from his work, and he has helped me out a bit on several points.
Anyway here are the screenshots:
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/7057/graph1vo9.png
http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/3577/graph2tk3.png
The graph is resizable. I still need to work a little bit on the efficiency of this thing but it's looking good right now.
All colors are customizable:
Background
Text color
Graph color
Grid color
Frame color (yellow in the pics)
0° graph (not shown in the pics)
Title text (up to 30 chars)
Do let me know what you think.
Updates on the progress can be seen here:
http://www.alcpu.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=422
hey The Coolest i still get -49 with my chiller setup on core 0
Could it be anyway possible to have a setting which would affect how the core temp shows the temperature, like average temp of last 2 seconds etc.
Something like:
I think it is quite self-explanatory. Read temps 4 times per second, and take the average temperature from last 3 seconds. As I have said before, that even though CoreTemp is accurate at reading the sensors, sensors aren't so accurate for humans. This feature could somewhat compensate the sensor "inaccuracy".Code:[AVERAGETEMP]
UpdateInterval=250
AverageTime=3000
Also, I'd love to see average temperature of the cores with one decimal accuracy!
Well, I think this could be done with external program aswell without big hassle, but I am qite sure I am not alone with these feature wishes so the best way could be having those in actual main program. :)

This is a little add on for Core Temp. Currently it's in public beta phase, not ready as final, but ready enough for public testing.
Simply extract both files in the ZIP, run the exe. Core Temp 0.99 must be running for it to work.
A 3rd file "Grapher.ini" is created with defaults. You can edit that file and restart to program to apply changes. (You can also click the Actions --> Reload colors to update the colors on the fly from the ini file, without the need to restart the app).
All settings are pretty straight forward. A later version will include a GUI for the settings.
Please post all bugs, problems and suggestions in this thread.
CT Grapher 1.0 Beta, build 1.0.0.2 - June 9th
- Add: Logging, creates a PNG file per graph with full history.

Hi...thank you for the update...
Ahtlon X2 4850e Brisbane Rev.G2 shows correct temperature now...but wrong name...It is recognised as "AMD Athlon X2 3850e (Brisbane)"...
I am using the 64bit version on Vista Ultimate x64...
Thanx
I'll take a look, thx.
awesome tnx for the new release
Congrats on great work!!
BTW
code name for Turion X2 Ultra ZM8x series of AMD's mobile processors is Griffin not Lion ;)
Reads my 5000be x2 perfectly on 1 core..second core is off by 10c...can you make it so the offset can be set individually for the cores?
this is such a cool program..you are a smart guy to be able to build this .....
Are you sure, I looked it up on Wikipedia, in 0.99.3 it was Griffin.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griffin_(processor)
I'll look into it, I know this is a problem with many X2s.
Great program finally something that can show the temps on my 65nm Brisbane correctly, AMD Athlon x2 4000+ 2,1ghz @ 300 x 10 = 3000mhz 1,41v
Idletemps was:
Core #0: 31-34
Core #1: 30-33
So i tried running LinX with this and here's the results.
But as above the temps is abit off:
Core #0: 48 - 52
Core #1: 58 - 63
So i can only assume that Core #1 is correct while Core #0 is off, but this only at load, seems to show correctly idle. Never thaught my temps was that high lol.
Also it shows my CPU at 285.75 x 10 = 2857.54mhz and that the voltage is at 1.3000v. CPU-Z shows correctly.
All I can say is keep up the good work!
Core Temp only shows the VID, not actual vcore.
Regarding speed, there is a problem, especially with AMD CPUs... I'm working on it
All OK on Phenom II 940BE
yeah it's Griffin
http://hosting03.imagecross.com/imag.../1483CPU-Z.jpg And this is how CoreTemp see it: http://hosting03.imagecross.com/imag...-0.99.4-2-.jpg
Heh, you know that Franck is also human. I will talk to him and try to see who is right on this one.
Either way if he's right I'll fix this.
*EDIT:* Ok I think you're right, I just didn't read that article on wiki correctly. I'll fix this in the upcoming bug fix release. Thanks.
Very nice Coolest, supporting 64 bits is aways a great deal
No VID.
Foxconn Bloodrage mobo G16 bios.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...1&d=1232759189
Although this should be in the Intel Core Temp thread. Nehalem does not report VID, so this is not a bug.
That's really not a big problem, but this is:
http://www.abload.de/img/error7xk4.png
Vista Ultimate x64, Phenom X3 8750@ 3 GHz, ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe
Previous version is working just fine.
funny enough, all cool here too !!! (under water)

32bit
64bit
Thanx for fix...
This beta build 0.99.4 is showing good temps with my Brisbane G2(~30ºC idle and ~48ºC full @ 2800MHz 1.30v). Previous versions were showing wrong temps like 5ºC. Can I trust in the temps now? Something have changed to adapt the program to the readings of the internal sensor in Brisbane?
They meant AM2 65nm processors, I think I got confused and wrote the wrong socket in the change log
hmm... got plus 21degree on my x2, that´s 67/69 under load. Should I trust the new Core Temp version and check my mount or ignore it ?
(231x13 1,5V)
edit: nvm, checked coretemp forums, set -21 offset. Still going to check hsf mount.
I set coretemp to load in startup...after getting into windows, low temp values do not appear (shows 0 deg ) at all unless i reset high/low. Normally lowest temps should be the ones first recorded after startup, correct ?
Not sure why that happens.
What CPU is it?
And on another note here are a few new things I'm working on:
Mini mode:

Hi,
this great little program compelled me to register to report a bug I find anonying. please bear with me...
when I run with CNQ on in Vista, CoreTemp frequency detection gets all messed up...
http://www.lookpic.com/files/CoreTemp_bug.jpg
this is the frequency the program shows for all 4 cores when it is suppose to be at "800MHz (199.99 x 4.0) (verified by CPU-Z) and not the above "2999.9MHz (749.98 x 4.0)."
Sequence that reproduces the wrong frequency reporting:
1) run with CNQ disabled. frequency reporting is fine.
2) run with CNQ enabled. program detects CNQ is enabled and changes to correct frequency at lowest power state (800MHz).
3) pressing the builtin refresh functions messes up the frequency detection to what is pictured above. Subsequent refreshes doesn't remedy the problem.
4) disable CNQ and now the program displays "11249.65 (749.98 x 15.0)." Enable CNQ and it goes back to displaying what is pictured above. Refreshing when CNQ is disabled will correct the problem and will display "2999.90MHz (199.99 x 15.0)."
my system:
Vista with latest updates
Phenom II X4 940
Foxconn A79A-S with latest BIOS
CoreTemp 0.99.3, CoreTemp 0.99.4 beta build 75 & CoreTemp 0.99.5 beta build 6
Yes, this is a known issue.
I'm actually trying to figure out a way to fix this. Hopefully soon.
Fixed beta is here:
http://www.alcpu.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2401#2401
Please read the description before using it.
^ Thanks again for your continued effort in making your great app available
Could anyone please confirm the new build from here works on their Phenom?
http://www.alcpu.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2401#2401
In previous versions up to 0.99.5 build 6 I was able to start the app but the frequency was incorrectly detected. (AMD X2 Brisbane BE) But now with the latest build 11 I can't even start the app, it shows an error message which I attached here. 64bit version, OS is vista x64 ultimate SP2 v113.

Works fine with Phenom II X3 720BE on Win7 64bit.
=)
Now, if AMD just fixed Deneb's temp sensor. The offset to software reading is clearly more than 10°C based on my measuments with a k-type sensor on a DMM.
*shakes fist at AMD*

Could you please press F3 (system information) and post a screenshot? I haven't had a chance to test it on a Phenom yet.
Attachment 96385
Note the edit in my previous post...
Actually, the label "Freq. #2:" is where it's supposed to be when the app launches, but it disappears if I double-click-minimize the app and then return to the normal view.
Thanks largon. I tracked it down. Should be fixed in the following release.
Hey ,, nice work as always..
9950 :D
When i press F3 it shows Default Frenqency is @2700mhz( its 2600mhz for 9950's)
Also the last Tag (Core #3) ,, must of ran off with Largons #2..

Temps read the same as 99.4 tested with DMM .. looks good with the Low / High Boxes now.. Adding the Overheat Protection mode and Double clik priceless:up:..
The label problem is rather funny, but it'll be fixed in the next release.
The default frequency part is problematic. BE Phenoms don't have a maximum multiplier, so Core Temp currently uses the P0 state values..
I guess that it's not a good idea doing things this way. I'll try to search for an alternative.
Thanks

Same problem here.
Strange, seems like it crashes on some AMD systems.
Final8ty, does it crash on your P-II 955? Or do you have some other system that it doesn't work on?
It works on Intel systems.
Not working on my system either, 99.5.20 works fine (what I'm using now).
EDIT: was trying the 64-bit edition.
