Anyone tried ordering from Tankguys to Canada using google checkout???
Because when I do it I get a message in google checkout:
"TankGuys Computer Parts does not ship to this address via Google Checkout"
I am in Toronto so...
How can this be fixed?
Should I just try ordering through the website and not google checkout?
Managed to get Orthos small FFT's stress test stable for 18+min @ 500*8.5 (stopped the test, all temps stay below 44degrees C)

Tried 3 hours to get 500*9 working but could not boot windows no matter what, while 520*8.5 is able to boot vista and make screens but not stress the system...
EDIT: 500*8.5 is very stable and low temps after stressing with orthos entire night.
Anybody know why i cant go higher?
i dont know about that, but they do heat up more than a c0 with same volts, ie, add 0.15v to each and the e0 will run a good bit hotter. i have had about 10 c0 e8500 and 4 e0 e8500 and this has been true for all except my latest e0, which for some reason runs very cool - 52c at load 4650mhz, 1.38v. but the temp sensors are stuck at 39/41 in the down direction. but are accurate going up (checked with infra-red probe).Quote:

I'm ran orthos for about 6 hours since I took the pics...and still counting (about 8 hours now). So far so good, but max temps at 58C. At idle, I'm at 34C :up:

Looks like your ram may be the only thing holding you back - if it is double-sided then you should be ok but if it is single-sided then you may be out of luck...Quote:

I have E8400 Q820A757, currently running at 4.1GHz (456x9), vCore in CPU-Z 1.28v under load and 1.30v idle, should I try to lower the vCore ?

What if higher E0 temps are caused by yet another Tjmax change by Intel? If the Tjmax were for example 95C instead of 100C, all temps would be 5C lower and almost like C0 ones. If it were 90C - we'd be getting temps a few degrees lower than C0 - and that would be logical indeed.

quick question about memory frequency, straps, and FSB:
on my Asus P5Q-E:
I had my RAM frequency in AUTO, with timings at 4-4-4-12, and Vram=2.02v..... it was running fine, until I started to mess with CPU ration settings from Auto to 9.0. Now, it starts to hang up. I initally had my Vcore at 1.29 and was running great, but now even with 1.31 is crashing on occasion.
Anyways, looks like my RAM is my limiting factor at this point. My question is, what's the best way to setup the RAM frequency, so that it doesn't get affected by the higher FSB? should I force it to DDR2-800 or 900 or so, or leave it in auto?
I want to shoot for 450fsb (4ghz) with 1.3Vcore, and let the ram timings and frequency be what they need to be to be stable here.
any help is appreciated!

Running P5Q Deluxe with E8400 E0 and having troubles running any higher than 4Gig.
To get to 4Gig I need 1.368 Core Voltage (CPU-Z) and I get temps around 62 and 59 using core temp.

i just changed the NB voltage to 1.34, and left everything else the same, and looks like it is stable now.
ps- does anyone know how to disable the multi from dropping to x6? I've tried everything and it still drops to x6 when idle.

EDIT:This app is very scary, it took my cpu from 36 degrees up to 68 Degrees C in 1 second! I dont think this represents normal use, even with several stress tests the system never reach beyond 59 degrees..
My cpu is rated for 74Degrees max according to Intel, whats a safe max temp to run on? (I did pass the Burn tests)

Well about temps, Intelburner states that it takes temps +20c upper than other stress programms. I have always tried to keep intelburner stable on 60-65c Temps.

is it E0 stepping. I didn't know the e8500's had E0 out yet.. thats great. the fact that it is a E0 stepping I'm SURE you could get to 4.5 Ghz on Air.. perfectly fine.. or higher. the E0's are great grreat overclockers. Where did you get it.
also the Q8 means it was made in 2008, 22 means the 22nd week of the year.. so Middle of May 2008. and A is where on the Wafer it was cut from. I'm sure it will work fine. All the E0's seem to be very good, and very stable.

It's either your cpu, ram, or northbridge.
Put ram on 1:1 instead of 5:6 and northbridge 1.2-1.3 and give it a go on prime or orthos blend.
With ram at 1:1 you can rule it out and focus on your cpu or northbridge.
Make sure your northbridge isn't getting too hot either.
Of course turn off eist and lock pci-e to 100.

I've gotten my system stable with:
446 x 9 = 4015 Mhhz
Vcore = 1.2875
Vnb = 1.30
System is very cool and stable. I tried going to 466 fsb (~ 4.1ghz), and did not run stable, so I assume I need more Vnb and Vcore. I dont think the extra speed is worth the power/temp increase, so now I want to reign the cores and temps down as low as possible.
I noticed several E0's running 1.1-1.2 Vcore...I'm gonna see how mine does there. My question is, how low can I safely go with the Vnb? can I get away with 1.2v?

I have the kaze 1900rpm's... They move alot of air (110cfm) and they are not as loud as my case fans and they work great in push pull with my TRUE.Quote:

Just got a C0 from newegg NJ. So heads up there. But it seems like it's all chance. I sprinkle my CPU, so I'm getting 4.0ghz at 1.3...... Ehh kind of what I expected when the C0 showed. But still nothing to scoff at. Runs cool, bout 45C under load. J'aime. 11 second Super Pi surprised me to say the least though.

I cant even reach 4Ghz on 1.3V which is pretty bad..
What should I do? increase memory volts? FSB volts? more CPU volts or maybe chipset volts?
edit: my mobo is tpower i45 and memory is OCZ 2gb reaper HPC DDR2-8500 running at 2.1V stock
edit 2 Orthos is running for over 15mins now.. Its weird, first run always fails, but 2nd time its all good.
Yesterday I did 3.8Gh with some voltage, and orthos failed. So then I tried the test again without changing anything and orthos was running for over 8 hours(I had to stop it)...
I have to run 1.38 volts to hit 4.1ghz on my E8500 C0

did you guys notice the E0's have a higher thermal limit? Looks like more room for oc'ing and higher temps. :p:

OK Hey guys so after messing around here is what i got:
So at 442x9.5 = 4.2Ghz my stable settings:
CPU:1.376V
NB/SB Voltage: 1.200V
DDR2: 2.096V
FSB: 1.200
CPU PLL Voltage 1.6V
But I tried doing 453x9.5 (4.3Ghz) and orthos fails me in first seconds, pc reboots, really unstable:
Now my question is:
what Can I do to make it stable at 4.3Ghz WITHOUT increasing the vcore because it goes above 1.4V?
Maybe increase the other voltages? Memory settings? etc
Also what are the max safe ranges for the other voltages on the mobo?
BTW Mobo is tpower I45
Edit I turned the vcore one more notch up (1.425) and it was still unstable at 4.3Ghz... I hope I didn't reach the limit :(:(
misho my C0 8400 maxed out @4.2 also... its a good overclock. Better than being stuck @4ghz with the same voltage like some others.

Anyways try 1.4v and then see if you can drop it from there to 1.3 or 1.25v.
