bt_medic04, you said your voltages are low, did you test them with a DMM or using software? Software isn't accurate and almost always reports low. NeoHE PSUs are usually pretty good, Seasonic built units.

nice to see fellow LianLi/DFI lp/opteron hippies :toast:
Hey Aurora, I know this may be a bit late but will these do?
http://www.petrastechshop.com/1blstthfansc.html
i go off of what the bios reports. not sure exactly off the top of my head what the voltages are but the 12v is something like 11.7. the 5v and 3.3v are within spec. i just might be anal about it, but i dont like seeing my 12v doing a roller coaster lol. also my cpu voltages usually droop (ill set 1.45 and it shows 1.42 probably due to the board itself) and jump a bit in the bios. im probably just being paranoid but i bought the original NeoHE before the asus problem had been discovered/fixed. :stick: looks like ill have to get a multimeter and check it out
Yes, do so. My bios reports low on the 12V rail as well (11.86 or something like that) but it really is not that low. Also my vcore was supposedly bouncing all over when the CPU wasn't under load, but a DMM verified it wasn't, and actually showed that the board overvolts my CPU by 0.06 volts. So I have my bios set to 1.3V and my CPU gets 1.36V (which is just about stock for it, 1.35V is stock).
You'd think that it shouldn't be that hard to put an accurate voltmeter on these boards but I guess the mobo mfr's haven't figured it out yet
I guess I should add my own pics of my frankenbuild already. I have had this setup for a little while now, just never posted pics of it before. All the specs (mostly in my sig already) and more info (and technically all the same pictures too) at = http://www.gt-clan.net/kuhlas_stuff/...age/index.html. Yes I know it is ugly but it will be put in a new case eventually that will be properly modified to fit everything inside it. The case it is in right now I started to modify then gave up from frustration due to poor planning. Its a modified Antec Super Lanboy. Before anyone asks, this has been lanparty portable tested :D :D Here is my sig:

Kuhla, it's like I'm seeing a car accident. It's scary, but I can't look away!
@kuhla, I'm envying your headphones:eek: . Audio-Techica makes some pretty decent stuff!:toast:
BTW, are those Klipsch Promedia speakers?

I like how clean you keep your desk, but your computer looks gross lol.
It looks like your computer is throwing up!

How did you get your hard drive tucked in so far?
Just a bit of pressure-it still slides in the front, no relieving anything. Need to get another hard drive, as it's only 160, and I run headless, so I have ISOs to store.
So you still have the drive bay cover in place with that hard drive that far in? I'm going to have to try that.
I'll post a front pic tomorrow, shows my hand-cast polycarb reservoir too...
just wait till I make my own blocks!
Wow, there are some really wild setups in here.
Nice setup Aurora, I love the PC-70 :) ; btw that doesn't look like EK 8800 block, clear up on that?..
I have multiple rigs, the EK is on my main oc'ing/gaming rig. It's a few pages back on this thread.
Edit: post #2970, but even those pics are outdated. here's the finished job:

I have too many computers.

PC-7B Plus II FTW!
I just built my GF a super quiet air cooled build with one of those. Its a great case when you use sound dampening mats on the case walls.
BTW, what PSU is that? It looks like the Enhance 420watt I have in her computer.
The PC-7B has a Silverstone Strider 750, the PC-7077B has a Corsair HX620W.
Edit: I did think about buying the G70, but 1 super tower skyscraper computer is enough.
Mcoffey, very nice build, I like the clear top on the GPU.
Mountain Mod's and the 3007WFP are the way to go!! :)

Looks really nice, but that creative thing is messing it up :(
A.C.Ryan Radgrill I think -->> http://www.acryan.com/_radgrillz/index.shtml
LOL nice system u got there Pilatus :p:
like the lil figures inside the case, looks unique :D
wht r the WC specs ??
Get rid of all the 90 deg barbs, they kill the flow way too much.
The figures are from Counter-Strike. My sister bought those for me when she was in china.
Here are the full WC specs:
Alphacool Nexxos HP Pro Socket 775.
Alphacool Nexxos NVXP3 ATI.
Alphacool Nexxos Xtreme 3.
Eheim 1048.
2x Papst 120mm 4412F/2GLL for the rad. (Really should get a third one)
Coolplex 25.
Tygon 8x1.5.
I know the 90 deg barbs are not good for the flow but the WC setup is for silence not for nice temps.
Say hello to dual Weapon Heatercores.
It might not be the prettiest setup... but it cools like a mofo! :D
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...B/1e67d77c.jpg
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...B/51bee8ca.jpg
Pilatus, nice case! How hard was the sound management foam to install and cut? What are your temps, I've always wondered if the foam affects temps, but if the whole system is minimal noise themed, I guess it wouldn't be accurate to judge the temps on just the foam. This is off topic, but I like the blinds/shades in the background, I am looking to alter that aspect of my computer room, any idea about the specifics on the material?
TY Aurora.

No comments on my setup? /cry
That's some serious radage Makubex :fact:
Well, most of you will probably won't be able to relate to my temps since where I live is usually hotter, but if you want I'll give you my current readings anyway:
According to my thermometer, right now my room temp is about 31C. Yeah, is hot in here.
CPU: E6600 @ 3.3GHz, 1.4312v in BIOS, 1.39v in SpeedFan and Everest
CPU Idle Temp: 37C in SpeedFan, 36C in Nvidia Monitor, 41/43C in Core Temp.
CPU Orthos Load Temp: 43~44C Speed Fan, 43C Nvidia Monitor, 47C Core Temp.
System Temp (Mobo Temp) Idle: 39C in Nv Monitor and in Everest
System Temp (Mobo Temp) Orthos Load: 39C in Nv Monitor and Everest (Yeah same as idle, go figure)
GPU: EVGA 8800GTX (605 / 950 MHz)
GPU Temp Idle: 45C in Nv Monitor, Riva Tuner and ATI Tool
GPU ATI Tool 3D View/Artifact Scan Load Temp: 51C in Nv Monitor, RivaTuner and ATI Tool
Hehe, thanks. You got one sweet setup yourself. :)
Tnx :)
The foam was really easy to cut en put in. 2 square meters of the stuff was only 7 euro's so if i messed up i did not matter. I did make a few mistakes with the cutting but i just did it over again.
My temps are okay but not really good. The CPU is idle about 40 degrees and the GPU is about 45. Stressed the CPU goes up to about 50 and 55 for the GPU. The temps could be alot better with the fans on 12 volt but i like the silence when they are on 6 volts. CPU temps come from TAT. GPU temps are from ATI Tool.
I think the foam does make the temps a bit higher but not much. The temps where about the same when the foam was not in it yet. The foam is more for the looks than really for more silence. I dont like to look at the alluminium of the case so i put the foam in. My old PC had the same stuff in it.
What do you mean exactly with the blinds/shades in the background ?
Here are some screenies of the load and idle temps I get with my dual heatercore setup. These were taken with a room temp of 27C.
I know Idle temps are not not that great, but I think the Load temps and Delta are pretty good.

@shteer hey what case do you have, it looks pretty sleek and sexy..and that self made res is unbelievable. do you have a project log, i would really like to see some more pics of it.
BTW :welcome: to XS mate
shteer: a nice install you have there, although a little less elbow fittings would be better for you (if at all possible)
it was an Chieftech Dragon, but i didn't like that origonal face :)
i haven't got a project log in the XS yet, but you can watch the fabrication in 2 hungarian sites:

pretty good jigsaw job there on top.
thanks ...yeah wire management is gonna get straightened out with my new mobo coming in a few weeks it didn't make sense
oy! its the christmas RAM! :D A friend of mine has the same memory as you and we always call it the christmas ram because of the green/red flashing. We also try not to sit next to him because its kind of disturbing :( next setup overall though. I always like seeing those little swiftech heatsinks on VGA cards :)
Not the neatest but does the job well....

oo nice to see you here sbrehm72255, or should I say Bio ;)
Yeah, a U2-UFO is like a 'forever' case, once you get it you'll have it very long, but there's the price again... well, I'm saving for a Horizon :D
sbrehm72255 - where did you get that black mesh again?
IMHO you could have done it in a better way with much shorter tubes
I would have flipped the rad upside down so the barbs were on the bottom to make for shorter tubing..:woot:
I did the same thing when I did my 1st watercooling setup...live and learn...that was before I went to a lian-li v2000b and did everything internal...
btw...what pump are you using?
Would flipping the rad upside down affect the flow much? Seems like it would, but having seen a bunch of WCers with upside down rads, it probably doesn't, or at least, not enough to matter.
I have done it with a swiftech rad and a thermochill with no problems at all..
I'm using the MCP655. As for the way I mounted it, I would have mounted it inside the case, inplace of the 2 120mm fan slots. But decided not to because there is a lot of heat coming off the board. I really didnt want my temps to be affected. And since the case already comes predrilled with 2 holes, there wasnt any need for me to mod. I did consider flipping it upside down and have one tube pass through the pci bracket but like I said I still would have to have drilled another hole.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with end result and thanks for the comments.
Just finished this week...

This needs changing ASAP before summer.... Looking to get a lian li maybe, and water on the card.
hawkbizkit, that is nice, first setup?
and welcome to liquid cooling forums.
that looks like a Thermaltake case, if so, word of advice, plan on replacing them 80mm fans soon, they get noisy pretty quickly.
i have Xaser3, jigsawed front to fit 2 120mm fans and rear to fit 1 120mm fan.
and the top soon to fit 2more 120mm fans.
Wow, my first post on XS.
