I could of swore I seen some where that a 3x120mm rad would fit at the bottom with 2 psu's installed. guess this verifies it. Congratulations on the build its looking very clean and awsome.:)
I need to get another rad in somewhere because of to many things in the loop. cpu,nb,2x8800gtx's whoh yea need to do something. I can boil water at this point.
Nice placement of that RAD. I'm interested in doing something like this myself as i would not have to mod the case. Is there much difference from say mounting the RAD externally?
Outblast, are those 80mm fans blowing on the rad or sucking air off it?
FIRSTLY - this is work in progress so ignore things like cable management, DearKook has 'inspired' me so I'll be making a few changes ;) So go easy with the comments please. It will be very slick soon.
Atm I'm toying with a custom shroud for the PA120.3 in the style of the v1000 so I can CF a pair of 3870's.
Had to use the ones hosted at my other forum as I couldn't see an upload option here.

Things got a little tight...
http://upload.overclock3d.net/dwn/19.../clearance.jpg
I know, I know - CABLE MANAGEMENT! Res has also been topped up since and the kink worked out of one of the lines.
What do you think?
looks good man!!! i like that black coolant!!!
I would put the res somewhere else though if possible
I would mount the on the bottom of where the motherboard ends so its sits perfectly, one of these would make it look sleek:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=21624
or you can get the 250mL one, mount that there it would look very nice
Thank you. I know what you mean re the res but it is pretty tight in there, I'll look into moving that.
Cheers for the input. I toyed with doing that and tbh I just might.
(If)When I get the 3870's in cf I'll be taking the gpu's out of the loop so there might be a bit more space...
I also saw a side mounted res on my other forum with a with a window cut out, hang on... Link I think that is pretty awesome.
Need to buy a dremel and do the cable management this weekend
OMG geeze that lin you sent, all i can say is WOW, geeze one of the sweetest setup's i have ever seen, i love the green LED's Im guessing that is one of the Antec ranges. How he placed the acrylic and Res that looks awesome
Jon Boy,
The Fuzion is usually mounted with the outlet above the central inlet to avoid an air bubble that can otherwise form inside.
Your's is inverted.
Nice build!

Daaaaaaamn!!!
i think i'd like to get my wife's Lian Li Case and paint it now...
Hey guys, I am planning to get one of these cases for my second build, but does the drive cage really "sucks" as I heared they are vibrating when drives are installed causing the hole case is resonating thus noisy:X
I'm also going to be using a V2000 for a second build, and was wondering what gripes all of you have. [and how did you solve any of these?]
Thanks!
~R4z3rsPar4d0x~
Great paint job... looking at your pics, I'm tempted to do the same with my V1000 :)
tnx guys. ill update my pics as soon my upgrades and more modifications are done
No intake fan in the top chamber by default, the large hole for wire routing in the floor of the top chamber is next to the side panel instead of right under the motherboard, could use more room behind the mobo.
Does anyone have any answers to these questions that I posted earlier in the thread? :)
Here's a couple of questions for the v1000 & 2000 owners. I have this case:
http://www.xoxide.com/lian-li-pc-v2000aw-plus-2.html
1. Which way do you have the fan oriented that's mounted by the pci slots?
2. Which way do you have your PSU mounted in the lower chamber?
3. Or which way do you think they both should be mounted to keep things the coolest?
I have 1 intake fan on the lower and upper chambers on the front of the case, 2 80mm exhaust fans in the PSU chamber, and 1 exhaust fan behind the CPU and the PCI slot/side panel fan.
I have also figured out that by removing the black mesh that they ship on the rear fan, my cpu temp seems to have dropped by between 1 and 2 degrees. It's not much but it's something.
Outblast, are those 80mm fans blowing on the rad or sucking air off it?
I'm thinking about getting the PC-101B case, but I hate those plastic-clip using HDD racks on them as I've read they don't dampen HDD vibration at all.
So I was wondering if anyone knew if the racks can be replaced (without modding involving dremels and jigsaws, I can deal with a few screws and a drill though) with the racks found in the newer Lian Li PC-7 SE III (pic) and PC-A08 (pic) cases? Is it even possible to purchase the racks separately? Thanks in advance. :)
I just got my V2000B and it's huge! The space management is sick inside so much space and really ingenious equipment! I'll post some pic soon :D
Too bad I can't find a place in Canada to buy the windowed panel that would be great :D
im getting mine tomorrow (according to ups)!! Lian Li PC-V2000B PLUS II Aluminum Full Tower Case with Custom Full View Window, modded from performance-pcs with the windowed panel on the side and modded cables inside!! cant :banana::banana::banana:ing wait!!!!!!
AWESOME YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED!! its a excellent case!!! my rig should be finished wiithin the week (hopefully)
TRIPLE WC LOOP V2000B PLUS watch out for it soon :)
thanks buddy!!!
Any answers for me guys? :)
Anybody knows where to order the windowed panel in Canada for the V2000B?
shopbot is your friend
I just looked and shopbot sucks lol there's nothing for the V2000B except the case itself :P
@dnottis
I cutted 2 holes behind mobo.
@healada
Yes SS and Lian li aluminium exact same.Looks sexy:D

Hey Frankenchrist bud, like i said there 120mm fans heh. Why did you think the blue ones were 80mm?
> question 2, yea i have 1/2" aluminum heat sinks on my ram, 2.35V. The Striker over volts on the ram a bit.I just rearranged the entire setup added another radiator. Gonna finish putting it all together today. Im having a hell of a time hiding wires for 2 psu's and other hardware if i want to do a side panel window mod later. theres no way im paying that much money for a pre-fabed one. lian-li is making a killing on alternative parts for this thing. I also added 2 more fans. Tha stock intel fans move some serious air! I was astonished @ the air pressure that thing creates. Its not loud either.
talking about this one...http://flourishcomputer.com/products...ntel775fan.gif
Hey RockfordFosgate, what rad grill is that? I'd like to get those for my future Thermochills.
Chilled PC Custom Thermochill Rad Grils ;)
that's sexy rockford how did u cut that out?? jigsaw?? dremel??
Oh you must have modded it then or it's just different because my 2000 has two 80mm fans there. In mine they're above my PSU because I have it just as it came stock for now. All the rest of the fans on my case are 120 with the exception of the two that are 80mm because the case didn't come with them and I had to buy them. I've thought about flipping that PSU panel that shares those two fans but I wasn't sure if this would keep it cooler... :)
This is a V2000 I just powdercoated white for someone :D

Awesome!
damnnnnn, I'm painting mine and it's a long process. I have to put my v1200 back together this weekend, not going to be fun considering I have to replace the rivets . Yuch.
Also, does anyone know if this button will fit and replace the standard lian li one on the v1200??
http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=319
marcus, that powdercoats lookin hot  will you be putting parts in it for the customer? if so post more pics
Na I got the case sent to me, stripped out all the bottom section, drilled the top 240mm rad holes and powdercoated it white.
It's having a phase installed into the bottom tomorrow I think.
I'll get some pictures off they guy when he's got it installed though
I think it should fit, if it's a 22mm vandal that fits into a 19mm hole. I asked the same question earlier in the thread and most seemed to think it would fit. I'm still wondering what is the most efficient placement of all the fans.
That helped thanks!!! AWESOME!!! How about any standard configurations that people generally like? How do you have yours?... you gotta be kidding me...
if i had a v2000 i'd help you out but i dont, just like the great mods you guys do. i'd expect the lower fan by the cpu would be exhaust and the one buy the vid card as intake to give better cooling. the direction to mount the psu, i have no idea but i'd try having one of the 80mm's as intake and the other as exhaust.
BAH!! Oh, I thought you did and were just being lazy!!! :) Yeah, that's the way I have everything except the 80mm fans are right next to each other so I have them both pulling out....
Hey guys I am missing some HDD screws for my V2000B... Are these scews common or I will have to order them from a special store?
It would be great if I could go to Home Hardware and find some :D
This one inspired me to finally get off my ass and get my done. I picked up the dual PSU bracket from Frozen CPU, still had to drill some holes so that I could mount my PSU with the fan pointing down. Here is a look.

http://3dxtreme.net/other/ontap/New%...e/IMG_4736.JPG
I have the bracket slid down to allow room for my 8 pin connector to plug in from the bottom to the motherboard. Thats the only reason there is a slight space here, every lined up and worked perfectly.
http://3dxtreme.net/other/ontap/New%...e/IMG_4737.JPG
I just got back from Fry's and they have an "A+" case for $249. It looks almost identical to this series, but I couldn't help notice it felt a bit flimsier than my previous Lian-Li's. Anyone else run into these? I also noticed another "A+" case that looked like the xClio's.
nice rig dnottis :)
thats the Tagan Black Pearl http://www.tagan.com/index.php?c_id=...7&p_cata_id=86
A+ makes both of the cases the tagan and the lian li, i'd assume the quality is the same. there are a few differences tho, the tagan holds fewer hard drives and is supposed to have mounting holes for 2 120mm fans on the top panel and a few other minor things
dnottis, looking great
Thanks guys!
Which ones?
The 5 1/4 drive screws are the same as most computers but the 3 1/2" bay drive screws have a barrel mid section that slides in the runners and locking mechanism.
That's covered in the manual, you should have. But here's a copy if you don't have it. V2000 manual
Allright, quick question for all the v1000 owners.
After months of saving and assembling parts, I finally am ready to begin the mock-stage and decide where everything is going to go.
I have a v1000b II+ (which as far as I know is exactly the same as all other v1000's, it just has some funky fan brackets) and am trying to fit a PA120.2 somewhere in the case.
I have the M12 Seasonic 600 Modular (which I believe is standard sized PSU) in the bottom. I tried fitting the rad into the bottom, and I feel the only way to do that would be to pop out the front divider or strut where the front panel connections are. And then it would barely fit. And I mean barely. Question 1: if I went with this rad placement, would I lose structural integrity of the case by removing the strut, or is that nothing to worry about?
Possible placement 2- in the top of the case. I'll be running 1 single 8800 GTS and 1 Azuntech soundcard, so I don't see any other uses for the PCI slots (oh if it matters, it's a IP35 Pro mobo).
Question 2: If I place the rad further back towards the end of the case, what do I have to worry about? I know I'll lose PCI slots, but I've mocked up the case and everything seems to fit.
Question 3: If I place it more into the Drivebays, what do I need to think about? Advantages/disadvantages to the set-ups?
The only pump placement I can find would be in the bottom of the drivebay, where they have the 3.5 floppy slot. I haven't really figure out where the microres will go, but I may end up with a T-line for space issues.
Anyone care to help me out a little here? BTW first water-cooled case, so I feel veeeerrrryyyy noobish(squared). Thanks!
You could leave that front strut but cut a hole for therad in it. It's a tight fit though.
Up top you thinking will need to be where the first few inches of tubes will go, rather than the rad. If you use normal barbs and tube the initial run extends quite a bit before you can bend it around.
There's a pic in my build thread that illustrates what I mean.
Which pump? A stock DDC 3.2 or a alphacool top DDC will go in the bays neatly or under the floor depending on your drive set up.
Theres sketch up models of the v1000 pumps and rads here. You can get the free sketch up here and its easy to get to grips with enough to sort your layout in.
Marci has done some grat PA rad models.
@jedda - I went through your thread for posterity's sake and am really impressed by what you've done. I kind of felt that prob though, which you pointed out in your thread about having the rad too far forward. I'm thinking now to space it more towards the back, leaving just enough clearance for the tubes to sqeak by the gfx card and drive bays. On second thought, I may place the ddc3,2w/alphcool top next to the drive rack on the floor, and cut holes in the floor like you did for tubing.
So you guys see no other problems with the rad in teh back other than the loss of PCI slots?

ENJOY!!!!!!!
OMFG thats awesome disruptfam
I just got mine V-1000B PLUS, my first Lian Li case, man it is pretty small lol I thought it was bigger as I am used to big cases like the Evo 830, but I like it:up: , I was impressved by the build quality and the finishing of the case, and it looks dammm sleek man!
Oke few things I would like to know,
How I should place the fans, I thought as follow: Rear: intake for the TRUE( fresh air would do , or should I use it for exhaust?) Both top fans exhaust , and the front Intake ( using Scythe kama bay), and the side patent fan, intake( but is the side fan now restrictive as I got now 2 top fans and the patent fan is very close, well if this fan is restrictive I want to know because I want to buy a window panel, if the patent fan would be restrictive I would buy the one without a mesh @ the top right on the plexi window http://www.caseking.de/shop/catalog/...oducts_id=2491
And if the fan would be a addiotional help I will buy the one with the mesh:
http://pc-cooling.de/Gehaeuse-Zubeho...B+Plus+II.html
And I see there is a Floppy 3.5inch bay, could it be removed and put there a 5.25 inch Fancontroller? or only a 3.5inch fancontroller would fit? And the last thing, since I heared if u install HDD on the rack in the lower chamber it would vibrate and causing the case to resonate thus noisy, So I would like to buy some 3rd party anti vibrations solution for HDD, but they need to be installed in a 5.25 buy and need screws mounts for them. Can they be installed? I thought the V1000 use a screwless design for their 5.25 , would I got the option to install my HDD there?
LOL this picture is what I used for 120.2 Grill mod for the 2 x120 fans, but I edit it.
If you've just got it you should know theres an anti-vibration set up in the lower drive cages.
You can put any 5 1/4 thing in place of the floppy bay like a controller.
Usually the side and rear extract. One from the cpu zone and the other the gpu. Theres no prob with 4 exhaust but only one inlet. The case is both heat sink and inlet for air flow. Thats why the design has holes.
Thanks buddy :) ... I'm missing some HDD screws with the little barrel cuz I bought my case from a friend and he only used 1 HDD and I got 3... and he losts the other screws lol
I found a e-tailer; frozencpu.com that I can buy theses screws alone but still sucks to pay 20$ shipping for 0,5$ screws lol
Hmmz I am not sure, if I got the V1000 PLUS II or the PLUS, I placed a order and the invoice states V-1000 PLUS II, but the Box states V-1000 PLUS not (II), I it was produced @ july 2007, whats the difference? It doesnt look the HDD cage got a anti vibe contruaction , could it be that the V1000 PLUS II got it?
lol Disruptfam it's like spaghetti junction ><
very nice though, you got the CPU and GPU on separate 3x120mm rads...they must be chilly??
My 1200 Wc'ed set up will be up here in a couple weeks.. finishing work on it now.
Nice setup, disruptfam!
I see it often and I never ask, but it's killing me to know how you guys mount a radiator on its side in the bottom of a v2000/2100. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough...can anybody enlighten me?
Here are two pics of my current rig (v2100 doesn't disqualify me does it? lol):
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ew-setup/1.jpg
A few notes:
-MCR320 => hollowed out fan frames (cheapo shroud) => S-Flex SFF21F
-The bottom of the case (under the rad) has been replaced with mesh in order to allow air flow.
-The Swiftech copper mosfet heatsinks were falling off so I cut the end of the heatpipe from the stock mosfet heatsink and am using that now (need a new pic).
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ew-setup/4.jpg
My todo list:
-Move the pump to a better location (I could probably eliminate alot of tubing length).
-Add Martin's uber elbows to my loop in a few (obvious) spots.
The drive bays are the same in both. You can see the neoprene runners and special screws in this pic looking from behind. There's a locking slide on the front.

disruptfam,
You've got an eye for taking good 'puter shots.
cheers jedda!! guess what ITS DONE!

Another great shot of a very nice build.
You really do have an eye for good computer shots.
I've known product pic pro's who wouldn't do as well as you.
thanks jedda all i need is a program that can clean up the noise... and make the backround white..
i know photoshop can do that but i have clue on how to use it lol
very good pics of the case , but the background ............ ;F
gj on the whole project.
For removing noise from a picture search on google for Noise Ninja. I don't know if it normally costs money, just as a photographer it's what I use to remove noise. And very nice comp, good job!!!
disruptfam
Man,u case look amazing!!!
Lian-Li V2000 the best of the best!!!
i had to sell some things to get money but i just couldn't push myself to sell my Lian Li , every time i look at that case i just can't think that i made a bad decision , it's light, it looks simple yet elegant, and with some proper "work" with my tool of the trade it will be wicked sick
How you do guys remove the metal cage thing where the PSU is? Its in the V2000B?
thats riveted in there so you will have to get a drill bit and drill it out
I know this is a little premature....but I am looking for some help with my loop config since this is my first w/c build.
My single loop sequence will start at the rad below - cpu - nb - sb - back to res
Heres my question: should the return to the res from the sb be at the top of my res (shorter distanse) or should it bend down to re-enter in the bottom of the res? does it even matter?
Anyways the threads here have totally inspired me adn looking forward to posting once every thing is completed.:bows:
looking good :)
Your builds makes me drool guys! I really like the look of Lian Li's. Im saving up for a new case and this thread swayed me to go for a V2000. I just need some help/info on you guys, especially disruptfam since hes the one who posted that 2 3x120 rads wont fit and i really like to put my 2 mcr320 if ill get one(sorry a little hardheaded here:) ). I saw this pic, do you think if i clean it up like this i will be able to fit it?
Mine's getting close
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...d/DSC_2099.jpg
I tidied up...
http://upload.overclock3d.net/dwn/15...3063/after.jpg
Wow! thanks silverphoenix that confirms that i'll go for the v2000, i hope you'll post your build, could help a lot of guys who want to do this:up: .
Thats awesome jon boy !! looks 100times better!!
Mxlplx it will fit if the bottom section is cleaned out like that...
I said the 2 mcr320s would not fit stacked on top of each other in the same fashion as i have my rads... (but will fit if go with silverphoenix way) :)
anywho here's a couple more pic of my rig... :)
http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/686/v2000015cf8.jpg
can't see in pic but moved res's and dvd's to fit alphacool lcd display in the two top drive bays
why we dont make a movie to how organize a lian li v2000 and v1200 ?
i thinks its a good ideia =)
i need some help to organize my case =P
cya
here is my worklog. Not quite finished there and running close to using up my budget I set for this build lol. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=173111
Awesome build man, looks like a well thought of project, i cant believe i missed that!:slapass: your worklog will be very helpful, thanks i'll be following this build.
Lian Li V1000B Plus , powder coated inside on Dark Blue or Black Matt , what will it be :D ?
