I am assuming that the additonal parts for AM2/AM3 configurations have been sent out to the distributors so THIS is the reason nothing else will be required????

I emailed Michelle about the AM2/AM3 mounting kit, but haven't heard anything back yet. I assume she's on leave?

Is the mounting kit compatible with the standard AM2/AM3 back plate that motherboards ship with?

So which compression fittings work with this in the alternate configuration? In other words... would this fitting work?

Gabe sorry if im not being clear here but it is not the adhesive that is holding the backplate onto my board one the actual thread of the backplate on the upper right corner the screw will not loosen or tighten so the screw seems to be stuck in the upper right thread and i have no idea how i am going to get it out.

it means that the pem nut is spinning lose and completely off from the back-plate then.

you shold be able to remove the back-plate, and the pem will stay on the screw. just hold the PEM with pair of thin nose pliers, and losen screw by hand.

ahh ok so i just remove the board and hold that little nut on the back then. I guess i need to email michelle for a replacement? do i just include address and name.

I just got my block from Sidewindercomputers.com and Swiftech you really gotta get your quality control in check. One of the screws on the mounting is not good and it goes right thru the backplate holes. I tested on all 4 holes and the screw just goes right in! All the other 3 screws work fine.

This is very very irritating now that I have to wait for one screw that is holding on my build. This shouldn't even happen and this should be caught before my block even left your building.

Now its the weekend and I wanted to finish my computer. I gotta wait till next week probably till Wed. or Thurs. to get one darn screw.

Very disappointed with my block and Swiftech QC.

I tried MicroCenter and they are out so I have to wait for the screw. Swiftech is sending me the screws, nice customer service by the way. Still I my opinios the QC should be better but Swiftech has great customer service. (Unlike the makers of HeatKillers).

How many problems are there with this block? Im trying to decide if its worth it vs the heatkiller with all the issues in this thread.

I think you will find that of all the people that have had problems with the XT on this forum, it would possibly only be a very small percentage of the total amount of XTs out there. Mine was fine, didn't have any issues with barbs not screwing in, bases with botched pins, backplates with loose threads, etc...

I like mine a lot, you also know that if anything was wrong with the block, Swiftech's customer support would set it straight in a timely manner.

I got my XT and had no problems whatsoever when installing a month ago.

Got my XT from Sidewinder today as well - at first inspection it looks fine. Opened her up, only a single bent pin - and it's not even bent, just doesn't stand straight. You really only hear the people with problem speaking up, those with good blocks just go about their business.

However, I really wouldn't be too concerned. If there is a problem it will get fixed immediately by Swiftech, they're great (this is opposed to other companies with terrible support, in which case you'd be screwed -- but it's not!).

Agree on some part hey have excellent customer service but in my case i leave in South America and i can't return or send the block back will cost me the same as buying a new one...I would be nice that they have better QAS thats for sure, that's the reason why we post the mistakes on this thread...

Michelle sent me barbs and the backplate for 775 wich i appreciatte very much it will take some time to arrive but they'll be here but my block has second thread impossible to fit a standard G 1/4 barb i dont think they would send me a new block here for that, you can return and send as you leave in the US. Thats my point much easier.

Same thing happened to me. Mine came with a missing screw around the inlet when I was ready to go build. Their quality control isn't all that great. Needless to say I chose not use that block....

I personally talked to Gary from Sidewinders and he was doing what he can to check blocks, i told him this weeks ago, if you see my pic theres a screw missing besides the bad machined inside and the second thread that doesn not fit G1/4...but i think its not sidewinder that has to do the job, its swiftech.

As i said before i have no complain of their customer support as mails are answered quick and in my case Michelle sent me some parts i requested inmediately, but its a pity this is happening. Im sure that they will now start to control more.

This happened with the original Apogee, too. In that case it was the pins actually coming loose. It also happened with the original stealth GPU blocks and Apogee GTX with aluminum tops.

IMO Swiftech makes GREAT products that are EXTREMELY innovative and well designed; their customer support is also second to none. It is really a shame the QC seems to be a long-term issue.
