Nice paintjob! That makes it look so much better. I had no idea Lian Li even made one of those, looks nice.

thanks BlueAqua!
yeah, i found those in ppcs while i was getting acquainted with their huge (and tempting) inventory. i've been looking for something like it for quite sometime. :)
Gotta love your patience with the camera! :bows:
Great job also! Why do you needs those 'microcool chip protector rubbers' for?
I like the paintwork bianco, very nice!
Looks like it's coming along nicely
thanks Jor3lBR!
you can't imagine how hard i work on getting the cam steady with my damn shaky hands for those shots that i can't use a tripod. hhaha. your compliment makes it all worth it. :D
the microcool chip rubbers are for the chipsets. i put it on the microchip area before i mount the waterblock on the motherboard's northbridge and southbridge. prevents the accidental chipping of the chips from uneven pressure from the heatsink/waterblock above it.

thanks twwen2!
i was actually aiming for a 2-tone. black on the outer shell... red on the inner compartment. eventually decided to go with all black:
1, must finish painting immediately because my wife will be working from home as well, since she's on the final phase of her trimester (one more month and i've got a son to play with! haha)
2, the red inside the compartment would be too overwhelming! haha.
i'm a bit confused with the Lili Expansion box...the heat from the hard drives is sucked & then blown to the inside of the case?
looking good
thanks bro. i really love the red Dominator fan mod & awesome sleeving on EVERYTHING hehehe
Wow so much attention to everything
This is one A+ build.
I admire your patience for sleeving everything.
Loving the pic :)
post pics later...?????! some of us can't wait that long! haha
it was a pretty hectic last week. my wife's checkup, my mother-in-law was in town, my bday mini-celebration, the singapore f1, my sister flying back to manila for holiday, and best of all... getting some work done on the project. :D
finally got to upload the pics and have the project log updated:

Please please tell me where you buy those neat red screws.
(Oh yeah the race was exciting. Had to watch it on TV tho...sigh)

I like the first picture with the ViperJohn flowmeter :) Oohh and thank you for placing these pics because now I will know how my loop will look like when I'm done with planning and building my project. I will also use red coolant and black anti coils :P
nice project bianco.

Nice :P That's really a freakin jungle in your case. Mine isn't going to be so extreme :P
wow man...
"it's like a forbidden jungle down there..." (compliments of adam sandler)
Seriously though, there is something to be said for planned chaos. I think this is an amazing project and that your loops turned out great. The only things i see that are kinda questionable are the cathode wires. Is there a way to tuck them close to the back of the case by the cathode box maybe? just an observation.... Otherwise GREAT WORK!
Awesome!
haha. thanks Roodbaard.
but yeah, it was a bit ambitious on my part to include the mosfets. :p:
thanks sniperbob. it really IS a jungle!
yeah, i'm still working on the bleeding and leak testing. will have the system up maybe in a few days. when it's stable then i work on the wirings. but thanks, i will definitely try to keep it tidy... or bearable at least.
thanks hotwaxisbad
looking at the tangle of tubes reminds me of the anime.. akira. haha.
Haha wow that is a jungle in there bianco, great work making it all fit!
well if u wanna change cases, i will gladly trade you my server-tower sized koolance case for your cosmos! haha
Amazing job, I love the attention to detail like the red quick swap buttons
Hey bianco!
Way to go Xtreme! Think I'll have to read over your whole thread again from start to finish!
New case hmmmm..... I had the exact same idea a few months ago...... and now I have ended up at the Extended Ascension (Version of the BDS). Just waiting for more funds (and seeing what the exchange rate does) before I push the order button! (early christmas present! lol)
Most importantly what are your temps like on your hardware?
emu
@ Bianco Really nice mod m8. would it be easy for you to show how you mounted the pump there?
Thanks
Really nice work. It's been great to see this worklog progress really nicely. Are you going to take some pictures of the whole thing?
WOW man thats like 100 ft of hose!!! Looks good does all that tubing affect the airflow at all? Those Viperchecks look amazing.
thanks emu.
haha. mm cases are like mansions for pc components. good choice! i'm sure you'd have more configurations for your stuff to put in. :D i've been toying with the idea of having a 'torture rack' type of case. i'm still fiddling with google sketchup and see what i can come up with. those loops are really killing the airflow and it's a big pita to reach in and fix things on the mobo.
as for the temps... i've just finished hooking everything up. will have to install the os and drivers, etc. will have it posted once done. a bit busy this weekend, need to meet up with interior decorators to fix up a new apt that my wife and i bought. :D
thanks masxerofkartis!
good thing you asked! i had a picture-log of how i did that... but it's weird i didn't have it posted here... let me search first, i hope i didn't accidentally erase it from the cam before uploading it.
thanks BA!
yup, i'll have a showcase type of pictorial... a lot of pics of the finished product... so much until you guys scream stop! hahah.
haha. thanks Detale.
actually those are about 10ft of tygons. minus the trimmings that i had to do while fitting it in. right now, there's hardly any air coming from the front to the mobo area. i haven't placed the side panel in so that air can freely go from the side.
yup, those 2 red orbs look devious! :D wonderful stuff from viperjohn.
hi masxerofkartis. i was able to find the pics finallly! they were done before i painted the case and all...
i used the mesh that i cut from the case itself
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...esIMG_4058.jpg
measured them just about the same width as the ek d5 xtop holes
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...esIMG_4060.jpg
screwed a fan grill in between the ek d5 top and the mesh i cut
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...esIMG_4061.jpg
voila... pump mounted
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...esIMG_4064.jpg
Wow, that's a crazy inventive way to mount, that's great.
Although now that armeniandave has a 120mm pump mount, could have saved you a few steps.
lol, when i read "Raistlin" i was reading it as "wrastlin" some southener refering to wrestling! :)
no problem man. that was one of my earlier plans for the pump - have them in drivebays. but eventually, i decided, i needed the drivebays more. matter of priority... need compromise, i guess.
haha. thanks bro. problem with the mount is that it doesn't fit the ek d5 xtop perfectly. i didn't want to drill holes in either the top or the mount. if i used the undesign bracket, i'd have to use the stock d5 mount.
haha. glad it wasn't what you thought... although trying to manage the tubes could be considered... wrestlin'. haha.
:mad:So you think all southerners don't know how to talk, huh? :nono:Some of the kindest, most outgoing people I know are from the south. You need to check the stereotypes in your own head before you go saying stuff like that.
 Just kidding, I know a bunch of people who talk like that. Totally kidding bro.:peace:
Bianco, I freaking love how you cut that hex mesh, looks tight. Too bad it's hidden under the pump! Might have to steal that idea for my upcoming mod/build.
haha. i'm sorry man. no offense meant. :D
thanks bro. i'm quite fond of that handiwork using a nibbler. i knew they'd be hidden... so i took a couple more pictures of them. no problem about that, we all share our ideas in this wonderful forum.
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...esIMG_4065.jpg
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...esIMG_4066.jpg
Bianco bare with me I am going thru a lot and I am slowly catching up with your log, I don't wanna turn to the last page and spoil the ending!!!
First off let me tell how lucky you are to watch that F1 GP  I have dual citizenship US/BR and my heart whne it comes to F1 is all Brazilian :)
Massa had terrible luck but that's what makes F1 exciting, I'm glad there ar more fans here in XS that we can open our own F1 thread.
Returning to the topic I love how EK make all the blocks for Asus they look amazing and fits your project like a glove. I had a hell of a time to get mosfet and decent nb blocks for my DFI.
I also enjoyed how those backplate are nice and tidy!
Your paint job ended up very nice too I had trouble with the cold northern arizona weather but I got my painting done as well.
And man 1 more thing YOUR SPEED makes me feel embarrassed :ROTF: Your so fast I can't keep up with all updates... I'm still far away to get my project done do to lack of some parts, some minor bumps along the road or pure lazyness.
Well I hope to see the rest of your log soon so I can see the finished project!
F1: go Massa! go Ferrari!
thanks Jor3lBR for the kind words.
yeah, was disappointed that massa didn't win the first sg race. i was actually a ferrari fan, but when i read how good massa interacted with the fans (as compared to the other drivers...), he won my respect.
i had to rush the paintjob and metalwork... all those that would irritate my wife basically. haha. because she'll be going on maternity leave soon and i dare not anger a pregnant woman bearing my son with all the noise and fumes. haha. so it was the sense of urgency that spurned me on. but believe me... if it wasn't for this, i'd still be on the planning stage. :D
i'll be having an update on the temps real soon... i'm having some trouble with the gpus.
your progress is doing quite well also. quite eager to see your extreme cooling!
One F1 fan here too (quite obvious as there have been 9 drivers from Finland in F1, and currently 2). I've never seen any races live tough :(
Btw that tubing/red theme turned out sick!
F1,most overrated "sport" ever but still it remains the most boring motorsport.Watch some superbikes, motogp or dtm geez.
To topic that is sweet looking build you got there, keep it going!
Insane!
Man that build is something. I would of never thought you would of managed to fit everything in that Cosmos case! Wow! Well done!
The case looks like a Nuclear weapon or something Haha! :D
I have 2 questions for you. Maybe i missed them through the 7 pages long thread :D
Where did you got the Microcool Core protector from ?
And did the back-plates came with the mosfet blocks or you had to order them separately?
Thanks and really, again, well done on that thing man! It's one hell of a dream PC! Oh and BTW: When are we seeing some Gaming Benchmarks? :D
thanks Patriote.
i got the microcool core protector and mosfet wb backplates from swc.
i had to order the backplates separately since the wbs didn't come with it. looking at the backplates now, i'm thinking of painting them as well just to fit the red-black theme better. haha.
as for the benchmarks... that's the frustrating part. my temps right now for the gpus are nuclear hot. haha. when i run 3dmark06, it shuts down due to heat (temp at ~100degC). i have asked for advise regarding it:
1, gpu-wb contact not so good
2, gpu wb not screwed tight enough
3, not enough airflow
4, gpu wb issue
i'm still waiting for this weekend to drain the loop, unmount the gpus, clean up the chips, mount again using mx2, tighten screws and put it all in again.
just thinking about all those tasks makes me... hahaha.
Ya man, i know how frustrating watercooling can be, trust me. I hate having to un-loop and re-loop over and over when all of a sudden you get a weird problem. HATE IT! That's the big problem with watercooling...
Anyway, thanks for pointing out where you got the back-plates and core protector. I had completely forgot about Sidewinder Computers.
As for your problem, i would bet it's a bad mounting... Maybe adding a 120mm just in front of your 3 cards but i doubt it would make much of a difference for the moment. If you hit 100c running 3DMark06, imagine what you'd get running Crysis maxed out...Heh
2 questions comes to my mind tho, are you sure the pump(s) you are using for your GPU loop are correctly working (Flow going on normally) ?
And what radiator are you using for that GPU loop ?
EDIT: I can't seem to find the Microcool Core Protectors on SWC.com... I'm probably just blind... Can you shoot me the link?
haha. makes me want to get a 'torture rack' type of case. :p:
yeah, i'll be taking the gpus out this weekend. hope it does the trick!
the gpu pump is working fine (got the vipercheck moving along smoothly) and as for the gpu rad, i'm using the tfc 360.
i think the core protectors are out of stock in swc. i can't seem to find them as well. but looking through my email/transactions i found these:
Microcool - Core Protective Rubbers - 5 Pack
Unit Price - $3.95
maybe you can shoot an email to Gary and have a check when would they have it back available.
Sounds good. Will shoot him an e-mail. I am myself preparing (Hopefully) my next project :D That's only if the GF let me do it... She hate it when I'm on computers. "It's my passion honey. Let me do it or else I'll never be happy" :with: It's not like if i really needed her "Ok" for it...Lol
For your GPU temps prob, it's probably just a bad mount. Maybe screws aren't tightened enough. Or maybe it's missing thermal compound... That rad should be able to handle the heat load no prob. Are you getting 100c on all 3 cards or only 1 of them ?
nice! another project. :thumb2: good for you man.
i'll be looking out for another awesome system from you then. :D
yup, probably that's the reason. got the weekend to find out. actually the 100degC would just be the first and the third. the middle one is fine. so i guess it's really how i had the other 2 mounted. :p:
thanks again Patriote
yes. the weekend has almost come to an end and...
...i haven't drained my loop...
...i haven't re-mounted my gpus...
...still status quo for the build...
but i...
...bought a new case...
...got a rotary tool to make modding easier and faster...
because i...
...might be seeing my son in a few days!!!
really have to bring this project to a close
hopefully, when i'm done with mod and painting the case, the bp fittings would be available
haha
thanks man.
i hope you meant keep it up in terms of pc build progress... and not in making more babies.. hahah. i swear i end production at 2: 1 boy, 1 girl... that's it! hahah.
i need the rotary Qs and 45s. it would really cut down the loop-the-loops of my loops. :D
F1: yup... 2 more to go. tight battle for the drivers... but i think ferrari would get the constructor title. hopefully brazil will be massa's. :D
:ROTF: Yes 2 is a good amount these days! My plans are for 1 girl and 1 boy too.
Congrats!
I received a mail from Gary (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com) today and they just received the parts you need:
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/bishsirotfib1.html
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/bishsiro45bg.html
Cheers!
thanks Jor3lBR!
haha. true. actually in sg, raising a kid is quite expensive. but i really appreciate the sense of security that the country offers... well compared to where i came from anyways. :D
yup, i got info about the bp stocks coming in too. placed the order. :D
once i get the fittings, time to tidy up and move my system in a new 'home'
:D
nice combo pare. black silver and red...
have you tried those viper checks with BP or EK spacers to fit those BP temp probes?...
thanks pare! :) still nothing compared to the tantric and other pinoy creations.
yup, i have tried using the ek spacers but it's too thick for the temp sensor to 'bite' into the threads on the viperchecks. i haven't tried using bp spacers. anyways, i have plan b for temp sensors and it depends on the batch of rotaries that i have ordered. :D
thanks 2low4u.
and another thanks for reminding me of that mod! almost forgot that one because got a bit side tracked with the gpu temp issue.
anyways, it works for the lcd readout. and i think the lcd readout is correct. i do not have any other temp sensor to check, but it looks logically correct. as for the other 2 output channels that i hoped would work: (1) drive bay - gives out weird temp or sometimes even zero reading... (2) mobo sensor - the system is such a jungle, i cannot plug the sensor plug onto the mobo.
i have a new case for the system, i will be modding the case and eventually move everything in that new case. i'm sure it would have enough room... and i can continue with the check better. will update. and if i forget, you guys can remind me.
the chip protectors, i got them from swc. but it looks like it's out of stock or removed from their online shop. you can email gary of swc about it.
good job
Hey Bianco I need a measurement, if it's not a big deal for you can you tell me how many millimeters from side to side has the EK Mosfet Backplate you got?
If you don't have any access to the backplate anymore just give me like a ballpark.
Thanks!
hi Jor3lBR, i knew that making a huge hole at the back of the mobo tray would be beneficial. haha. unfortunately, i cannot place the ruler/measuring tape really close to the back plates, but here are the ballpark figures:
it's roughly 9cm or 90mm in length and 1.6cm or 16mm in width.
hope that helps.
update:
project postponed for the meantime.
last week, after an ultrasound the doctor found that my son was in the wrong position (top of the head pointing at the left side)and not conducive to normal delivery
she scheduled another checkup today to check if he is in the correct position, if he wasn't a c section would be needed
however, it turned out good in today's scan.
he has assumed the correct position (head pointing down) and there won't be a need for c section.
but to make sure we catch him in this favorable position, we will have to induce labor and deliver him out tomorrow.
i have taken leave from work for the rest of the week until my son and wife are out of the hospital
no work for the project planned for the moment
but who knows, maybe my wife will throw me out of the hospital room and banish me to pc casemod duty... (i wish.. haha.. kidding)!
:D
congrats on the new kid! hope you won't OC him too! :D
38th to 40th week baby should be head down and positioned... if still early, some do the massage to position... and probably lessen the rock music to avoid baby dancing around...
bianco, congrats. i hope all is going well. savor every moment; seeing my first baby born was one of the most amazing things i've ever seen.
praying for a safe delivery,
Alan
thanks pare.
but the doctors here in singapore i think are conservative. they'd rather be on the safe side. which is fine by me.... c section is quite expensive.
delivered! my son was born october 15, 2008 at 1138am singapore time. he weighs 3.2kg and 49cm tall. i've gone metric and i am too lazy to convert to english system. haha. okok... maybe 7lbs and 1ft 9in tall. :D

Congrats!! Perfect build!!
I think he's crying because no pt nuke was added to the water in the Tygon. ;)
Congrats Bianco
thanks BA.
haha. i think he's crying out for the bp rotary fittings...
yeah, and can you add the nb-sb waterblock for striker ii extreme... thanks!
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...esIMG_0829.jpg
:D
Yes Congratulations Bianco 10 little fingers & toes good to go! lol
Ha ha, maybe he's wishing his crib was make from Derlin, he doesn't want acrylic to break on him. ;)
congratz!!
awesome :surf: c o n g o r a t z beautiful baby boy
Congrats my man! Good looking boy :)
*insert cliche water cooling joke here*
:toast:Congrats on the boy! :toast:
Now I feel bad, I was about to ask for more pictures of your computer, don't forget to start saving for college, this one's gonna be smart :yepp:
