Am in same situation i can get my 720 to 3.7 stable and a 955 seems pointless! But after what have seen today the system seemed alot faster a 3.1 with the new bios using all 4core! It must be a memory issue with F3B or something like that! If i cant get the 4core workin on the next bios i will have to get a new 955! Seems a con really making F3b and getting people excited to just cut the support for 4core after!
I was hoping to see 4Ghz or better as the avg...at 3.7 stable I got no reason to move on other than been able to use newer bios with better memory performance.
I will wait and see what people get with the 955.
I moved to f3L and have 3cores and system runs real nice. I can get higher mem and better timings. I think I am going to keep three cores for a while, I like this bios so far.Quote:

Listing your bios and hardware would help greatly.........
An example would be what charge PM'd me, a HT limit with crossfire enabled and not being able to get over 215 HT
Not looking for problems like I can't reach 4 gig...not all chips are equal yours may just not be capable.....
If the problem is with an unlocked 720 you are on your own as well.....locked 720's I will be glad to help with.
I haven't been very helpfull and active in this thread ( i've been very busy ) so lets get this board worked out.......
First off vdimm and vcore read points.......This is important because you always want to know what you are truly sending to your ram and cpu.....
These are probably not the best points to read them but they are read points none the less.........
My particular board overvolts .02 and in my case thats actually a good thing with some ram i'm testing.......this is rather normal as it differs depending on PSU used ( in my case a PC P@C )
Please please please be carefull if you feel the need to probe around, missing and shorting 2 legs of an IC together will most certainly be catastrophic and most certainly not be covered under warranty.................I probed around untill I found the read points so as to spare someone else the risk of killing a board searching for them...........
circled yellow is vdimm ( optimal read point is likely under that cap near readpoint......kinda hard to get to when board is in a case or laying on a bench )

The Vcore is almost perfect on this board overvolting by only .01
circled yellow is vcore ( the leg to the left of it reads .01 higher, I'm preety sure that is the feed side and the leg circled is consumption side )

Thanks Chew*, I finished Stability test and moved to the ram for a sec. i am current @ 240HT ref 3.6 CPU and 1600Ram. Boot righjt into windows. Gonne try higher little by little. Looks promising.:yepp:Quote:

Honestly even if you had the same ram and the same cpu model the settings would most likely be different........
Trying to get tony to write up an article when he has time on tuning drive strengths as he is better at putting it on paper than I am and can explain them better from a technical point of view.....

Have you tryed taking the battery out and leaving it afew minutes!

Those pushing for 1600 ram speeds with F3L bios and a 955 I highly reccomend using the 1333 divider and 240 fsb.....versus the 1600 divider and start from scratch.
Swap dimm's. Your memory probably does not like the dimm placement it is in.Quote:

Like I mentioned in your 955 thread, I'm having all sorts of weird issues. Chip will not accept 1.55Vcore at 4GHz. This voltage creates more instability. Cooling is not the issue.
I'm starting to think that the board needs a new bios revision. Or maybe, its just me or the chip.
More voltage will not help the majority of these chips.....they like low voltage...Honestly I really don't have time to try getting 4 gig stable ( I did it on the ddr II 790FX board ).....I'm very busy and working on other stuff currently.......like specifically ram clocking which is currently horrible with the 955's on this board......Quote:

Yah honestly although the IMC appears to be impervious to damage with high volt ram ( at least for benching have not tested for 24/7 useage ) its not to keen about it......I notice after 2.0 volts its not very happy.....if you can get ram that can pull the same timings at reasonable volts I see no point in the high volt stuff.Quote:
