Sorry for quoting myself, but this is worth a try. There's a good chance that ATI has different vertex/pixel ratio profiles for different games and benchmarks. You can test this my changing the name of the executable of a game or benchmark. If the card is indeed optimized for 3dmark05 and 3dmark06 then just changing the name from 3dmark05/06.exe to blablablabla.exe will significantly decrease the performance of the card in that benchmark.

Please test this, maybe you will find these "ratio optimizations" with a certain driver in some games and benches

Denny overclocking for crossfire doesnt work with AMDs tool. We will have too wait for ATItool to support R600. You are only clocking one of the cards either way you do it.

    Btw for 03 try -nosplash -gt1 -gt2 -gt3 -gt4 -nosysteminfo

So from your point of view guys, R600 > 8800gtx?

No XTX atm just XT in 512mb & 1gb flavors...

So for 399.99 you would not get an 2900 XT that can keep upto an
    8800 gtx easily ......
Thats if of course you were in the market for an new VGA
& did not have either 8800 gtx or 2900 XT yet.

3dmark is just as good an indication of performance in games. Its not an exact showing, but gives you a ballpark figure. Give em time to test and post results.

but still 512MB is a bit small ... i will wait for the 1GB version or the XTX retail ...

meh my 8800GTS SLI serve me jsut fine... ill wait for 2950XTX if there is one

and yeah HD2900XT beats 8800GTS 640 even with a crappy driver and at stock .... but the GTS heavily underclock and so is the XT ...

    the real comparison will be 8800GTX @ 660/2200 vs HD2900XT 850/2200 vs GTS 660/2000

Not when we have Sampsa and Brent at [H] stating the opposite.

I see what I see, and you see what you see. I can't make you see what I see, but I can tell you what I see is not what you see. Truth is, we see what we want to see, and what we want to see is what those around us see. And what we don't see is... well, conspiracies.

24 hours from now and we will know if ATI will be buried like 3dfx was OR if somehow through some miracle the 2900 XT will come out ahead and beat the X1950 XTX.
