    Hi

    Great results Andre

Especially the VTT/QPI and Vdim :

    DDR3-2000Mhz 7-8-7-21 with 1.58v
    DDR3-2133mhz @ 8-8-8-21 with 1.65v

    Uncore frequency 4260Mhz with 1.58v VTT/QPI
    Uncore Frequency 4000Mhz with 1.52v VTT/QPI

Impressive board looking forward for more results a question tho, is the audio card that dfi bundles on most of the boards is good?

    53 system? 37 chipset?

I can't believe I forgot what each of those temperatures is measureing/measured from.

So what is each of them measureing?

If 53 is the northbride temp I'm suprised with that mass of metal on the board.

Can you post some pics of the BIOS

    thank you so much!

    100% NOT samsung chips

I will share bios option later.

I have no idea about audio card because I never use it.

because system temperature measure is very close to PWM. So it's hot.

Board looks solid enough with a good layout. DFI really need to get better English translations though, and those round cables are very cheap and nasty, just regular cables squashed into a tube, not proper round cables

Assuming the chipsets measured at northbridge and system measured at mosfet, since that's a heatpipe setup connecting the 2 shouldn't the temps between them be around the same?

    Temps seem pretty good though.

Is uncore speed limited by CPU or quality of mobo? Can the bottom PCIe 16x slot run at full 16x electrical or 8x max?

CPU limit on air and green PCIE slot is 16X, yellow slot is 8X, so PCIE 1+3=16X+16X and PCIE 1+2=16X+8X

    triple SLI is 16X+8X+8X

    Thank you for the info

So have you tried this particular 965 cpu in another mobo and was able to get 4.2Ghz uncore with only 1.58v VTT?

I don't think I've seen such a high uncore on air with such low VTT.

The IC's on the ram seems to be the one question thats gone unanswered. I'm guessing NDA or something

    DFI VTT=ASUS QPI

If you need to go high memory speed, you must add a little voltage for it. Nehalem memory control on the cpu, so some cpus can go very high memory speed and some are not. If you have bad memory control chips, you should add high VTT/QPI for this chip.

The memory chips are company's top secret, so I cannot say that like Corsair keep their secrets.

Chipset is NB, System is PWM temp like on previous models that feature digital PWM

Can't wait to get my board.. I'll be using D9GTR tho, nothing wrong with a little extra Vdimm if you ask me

Yes I understand, but can this CPU reach the same uncore and memory speeds on other brands of mobo or is the DFI special?

My memory can do it on P6T Deluxe and R2E, but need very high QPI and Vdimm.

That's not much more than 1.58/1.98. I guess DFI is still slightly better. Any bios screenshots? I'm sure there will be at least 92390234 settings

Here's hoping DFI has some more of that magic from nforce 3 & nforce 4 days when their boards clocked better and more efficiently than the competition

nice mem andre, i guess thats the new elpida stuff

the core i7 memory controller really clocks mem very nicely... its a shame all that memory bandwidth seems to evaporate into nothing in most apps :/
I really wonder if the cpu cant use the bandwidth properly or if it just doesnt need it... i think there is some other limitation causing all the mem bandwidth not to scale well in 3d and other apps.

about the board, i have to say i liked the dfi board more without the heatsink and package
the nb heatsink looks weird, and the shape and red color doesnt match the board or package... at all...
the sb heatsink has yet another strange shape that doesnt match with the rest of the board, package, or heatsink.
and the package looks unfamiliar and boring for a dfi board in my opinion... why not black and red and green like the board?
id have loved to see the heatsink the same color as the board too, or at least all in silver.

dfi is known for their good hardware and bios, and im sure this is going to be no exception!
i think dfi should focus on this and not pay too much attention to heatsink and package designs
If BloodRage wouldnt be my baby, id probabaly be playing with this board right now
