NZXT Unveils the Whisper Full Tower Case

NZXT Unveils the Whisper Full Tower Case

PC case manufacturer NZXT has taken the wraps off of their latest extended ATX case, the Whisper classic series steel silent tower. Big enough to accommodate up to nine hard drives and a total of six 5.25-inch bays with ample space for large expansion cards, the Whisper case also ensures that your cables will be well-arranged because of the pre-drilled wire management system inside the case. Moreover NZXT has outfitted the case with 10mm noise dampening foam pads fixed to the inside of the side and top panels, rubber grommets that reduce vibration noise from the HDDs, and a padded PSU holder to reduce the acoustic levels within the chassis. All in all, the Whisper case includes 4 fans: 1x120mm Blue LED intake, 1x120mm rear exhaust, and 2x80mm rear exhaust fans. “Whisper is a really exciting option for the gamer who wants to maximize both computing performance and silent operation” said Johnny Hou, Chief Designer at NZXT. “NZXT’s advanced noise dampening technology combined with the many expansion options make Whisper a superior building block for any PC gaming rig.” Retailing for $139.99, NZXT's latest case will be worldwide available in September. That's very Antec P182 ish, I'm just waiting for the fridge-flaming-brigade to appear on-scene and throw comparisons to fridges at the case. I like the texture and blue lighting.

I take it this will be replacing the Hush?

It looks alright. Insides are decent as there looks like ample amounts of room and the padding is nice to keep it quiet. I'm just not sold on the front though. I think I prefer the front on the hush.

Front is alright. The padding if its only on that panel is not going to do much though. But i guess its better then nothing.

The price is mentioned in the first post.

I'm loving the room at the bottom of the case, with a bit of modding you can fit at least a triple and a single rad at the bottom, that's with removing the rack for five HDDs.

i think that it would only do a 2 fan unless u moved the psu, i like my bottom rad p180 though (i just have to mod the side panels and im procrastinating since i dont need them), and it should be wider though so u could mount the pump directly across were i had to angle it with the p180

it needs to have room for 3 hds vertically above the psu that way you can mount a rad to the sidepanel

Its a p180 w/o the issues of large PSU's not fitting. I actually love the look of the case and how many hdd's you can hold. 9! Holy cow!

Bottom line, that's a hot case imho.

Nice case, I'd remove the front triangular panel, but only because my lian li is spoiling me with it's simple elegance. NZXT has come far from their robotic cases

I like this new one. Looks a lot better than their old cases that had lights in every corner and looked way overdone. Nice and simple is the best.

Looks like something Voodoo PC might cook up but with shoddier materials. Make it full aluminum and I might look at it.

Meh, too big. I used a full tower for 3 years... never again. My Super Lanboy fits my 3 hard drives quite nicely with room for 2 more as well as 3 optical drives thank you very much. This case also needs to be aluminum. And those rubber grommets for the hard drives do absolutely nothing to prevent vibrations... at least from raptors. It's a step in the right direction though.
