oZone3D.Net PhysX FluidMark v1.0.0 Benchmark Released

oZone3D.Net PhysX FluidMark v1.0.0 Benchmark Released

Now that the PhysX engine is a lot closer to every NVIDIA owner, new benchmarks designed to test these physics capabilities are unavoidable. First among many are the developers at oZone3D, releasing their first version of FluidMark, a physics benchmark based on NVIDIA's PhysX engine that measures the physics processing capabilities of CPUs, Ageia cards and OpenGL 2.0 compliant graphics card like NVIDIA GeForce 5/6/7/8/9/GTX200 (and higher), AMD/ATI Radeon 9600+, 1k/2k/3k/4k (and higher) or a S3 Graphics Chrome 400 series with the latest graphics drivers. This benchmark performs a fluid simulation by imitating the renderering of lava. Real physics parameters such as viscosity are used. SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics) algorithm is enabled to increase the realism of the simulation. To test the FluidMark v1.0.0 please click here.

Doesn't work with ATI cards and ageia Phys-X card. Seems like nV decided to forget about the pci cards....again.

This means I have issues with any game that supports Phys_X using any driver released by nV since they bought Ageia.

This app in particular gives error of nvcuda DLL, and requests Phys-X driver 80718, which I have installed, and the app confirms.

    Useless.

    on my rig (a64 4000+ with 4850) it's running with 11 fps

nonetheless, even if it's a physics test, the graphics look gay. i'm really asking myself why it's called fluidmark as i can't find anything in that benchmark that looks like fluid (no, i don't consider flying nuggets as fluid )

i did everything ozone3d recommends in their download description (http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/physx-fluidmark/):

*** PhysX FluidMark *** requires NVDIA ForceWare 177.83 graphics drivers (they constain the PhysX System Software 8.08.01) or higher. If you do not have a GeForce graphics card, you have to install the PhysX System Software 8.08.01. You might also need the CUDA DLL (this DLL has to be copied in the benchmark folder if your Forceware drivers are < 177.79 or if you don't have a GeForce (Radeon, etc.)).

    every needed download is hyperlinked.

    to sum it up:
install physx software 8.08.01 and put the cuda.dll in fluidmark's directory.

hope it works out for you.

    yeah thats annoying.

but you can still get the old ones from techpowerup for the PCI card. they even work with vista 64bit
