I can get $0.50/pound for aluminium here. Copper pays almost $2. recycle them and let someone put them to a proper use...i.e. anything not related to cooling, and help the environment a bit at the same time!

YEAH IF YOU DRILLED OUT THE MIDDLE ON THEM, you could stack them on top of each other and create a pretty sweet external radiator/ reservoir.
Sorry to rain on your parade bro, but it takes huge amounts of energy to remelt these. Then they will probably just go into electrical lines, or soda cans (thrown out), or something else heavily dealing with energy. Thats the problem with recycling it takes much more energy then simple reuse.
I know...but it's better than simply sitting in a pile IMHO.
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, according to Conservation Laws, so it's use to do anything plays no role in my thinking...If I was concerned about energy use affecting the environment, I wouldn't have a 30-inch monitor...
Besides..keeping conservation of energy in mind, usage of excess energy in the environment for recycling seems fine to me...this issue at hand really, is where that energy is sourced from, and the environmental impact it may have...hydro-electric has almost no emmisions, and isn't going to have any larger impact on the environment than the dam that's already there providing the power...
Step 1: Buy tons of intel stock coolers
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Profit.
Step 1: Cut a hole in the box
Step 2: Put your junk in that box
Step 3: Make her open that box
You could try to build a case of them
pics!!
Here are some crappy pics...
I have several boxes in my basement, but they are stacked up way behind a pile of old junk, and since my phone has no has no camera-flash, you just have to take my word on it.
Anyways, i dug one box out, and theres the result:
EDIT: Each box is ~ 60 coolers: 5*4*3. Oh, and enver mind the date on the pic's. Just my phone ing up.

You know I remember reading in a thread here that the fan that goes over CPU cooler fits pretty easy over the hole on a 8800 GTS with a easy mod, and it dropped temps by 10 degrees. See where i am going here.......
You got a new biz, 8800 GTS cooler cooler

Heat them all up and remove the center cooper part, flog that as copper is worth money.
Then get a copper tube that fit the ID of the aluminum part, slide all the parts on to make one big passive tube, bit of brazing and then you have a passive rad!
Ebay the left overs
yeah the only real issue is the AMT of work involved in seperating that many heatsinks...
Sell them for scrap aluminum / copper. You will definitelly make a small fortune
