Wow, 12K on a e6600 @ 3.6ghz is impressive. With my GTS and q6600 @ 4.0ghz I only pull 13.7K ish.
I wonder how AMD's 2950 will fair in comparison to this!

ATI w/ 3G C2Q = 12K '06.
However, I don't know if that's the $299 version or $229 version, seeing as the 8800GT should end up on the lower side of the price range (hopefully).
So they're equally matched in benchies.
Usually when that happens ATI loses out in games :p But these two should be the quintessential Crysis video cards.

So seems the the earlier INQ scores were somewhat accurate then too with probably a bit lower cpu power. Would mean the slightly expensier 2950 scores ~12.6k then probably with E6600 @ 3.6GHz.
It's been a while since it's been this clear for me which gfx cards to look at, 2950 Pro or 8800GT, the actual game benchmarks will have to decide which of these but I'm not hesitating a bit picking either of these.
Both should have nice shader processing peformance for their price (amount SPs are good and shader clock is high while core clock on 8800GT remains fairly low which we overclockers like especially taking into account 65nm shrink goodness) which is good for the latest games which shows only more complex and heavier shader usage.

12k is on a 3.6 C2D.
Most of us will score 10-11k stock.
Sidenote: Everyone should remember when the 7xxx came out how impossible 10k 06 single card was :p
I also still remember Nvidia touting first to 10k 05 with two 6800 Ultras in SLI

3DMark06 looks nice and all but bring on the gaming benchmarks already!!!
Very close to what I score with my gtx as well flashed with the AC3 bios (626/1000) & q6600 at 3.2ghz, I get like 126xx in 06 with Vista.
Have they improved the memory controller or something to get this kind of performance on a 256bit memory bus?
Definitely need to see some gaming comparisons to see if the performance translates into real gaming performance.
