    Kingpin tests the 8800Ultra

I wish I had more numbers to post up, but some other things have taken priority atm. Not bad for 1st or 2nd go's with LN2 on the cards/cpu and just intitial results. Lots of potential score power still untapped on both cpu and gpu end
I think the single 06 score is pretty nice and shows the power of the card well. Single 03 is pretty nice too. Giving them the cpu power they need, and they should do 26k in SLI .

Test setup for single 8800 Ultra benching:

    INTEL Conroe x6800xe Evo2.3 ln2 cooled
    ASUS p5W64-PRO | CORSAIR Dominator 8888
    EVGA 8800 ULTRA Tek-9 LN2 cooled
    SIVLERSTONE 1000w PSU.

Test setup for single 3dark2006 and SLI 2006 :

    INTEL Kentsfield QX6700 Evo2.3 ln2 cooled
ASUS STRYKER EXTREME 680iSLI| CORSAIR Dominator 8888
    EVGA 8800 ULTRA Tek-9 LN2 cooled
    SIVLERSTONE 1000w PSU.

    8800 ULTRA Single card 3dmark 2006:

    8800 ULTRA SLI 3dmark 2006:

    Single card 2005:

    Single card 2003:

    Single card 2001:

I think for extreme oveclocking on Ln2, these cards are nice as hell and should go far in the hands of the best clockers. Not posting these results for WR claims, just some prelim launch numbers that I am sure some want to see considering the hype and speculation around the card.
Can't wait to really dig into these GPU's. I like them alot .

ATM there won't be anything to match 8800 Ultra SLI, atleast in 06.
To think, this is just the opening test runs...

Why make a thread about an already exsisting recent thread.?

This is generally done anytime someone breaks a WR, which a few of those scores ARE WR's, though he's not claiming them until he really gets down and dirty with these cards.... This was merely his test runs.

You'll see plenty more of these threads when the R600 launches as well...trust me on that.

Agreed... 8800Ultra SLi costs more than my rig not including the monitor, and I have a 8800GTX.

Yeah, but he's running LN. So I really don't think it's apples to apples or a fair comparison. Unless going for WRs is your thing, the only numbers that matter IMO for shelling 8800 ultra SLI cash levels are the 24/7 performance gain it gets you, and those numbers have proven to be not so great. The price of admission on ultra SLI is just too much for anyone not getting them as reviewers or competitors in pro-type benching stuff.

I do not want to be popular. So I do not care much about World Records.

Well sure we can not compare it.

Please tell me that's a joke, I'm assuming it is with that final lol at the end. Otherwise that attitude is what I hate when I play SupCom online and people with 512MB of ram, an A-XP, and a 9700pro cause the game to play in slow-motion.

For single GTX, why doesn't he use a better mobo, that will allow the Quad a higher FSB?

Hell im at 440 FSB on my Q6600.

Only 5k difference in 3dmark06 with singlecard and SLI. This thing needs 8Ghz quadcore lol.

Yeah, CPU bottleneck is killing the SLi runs. That much is for sure.

But as i am sure most of us are aware, the Ultra was designed entirely for this purpose. Its a PR card that no one was really meant to buy except for a few crazy ppl that can actaully find them in retail. I would imagine that more of them were sent out for free to benchers and reviewers than will ever be sold.
